  1. Thanks,,, I think that was one I looked at also,,,if I remember correctly,,,isn't it tapped into the MH brake line to work? Thanks again,,,I'll take another look
  2. Just Curious,,,, I can understand water getting "stale", but does it spoil,,,,and,,,,if water is in a sealed container,,,,How does it get contaminated...? Rv'n since '76',,,,I know,,,the last century,,,, We never drink the water out of the tank,,,,,,On the 8 Rv's,,,new and used we have owned over the years,,,,I sanitize with bleach once after the purchase,,,,and flush, flush, flush with fresh water,,,,,,,,,,I normally keep the tank full year round,,,,and make sure it is topped off for each trip,,,just in case. I also installed a filtering system,,,at the water entry,,,and at the sink in case we ever had to use the tank water,,,,,,for filtering water from approved sources we use. My other concern is using other chemical products in the fresh water tank,,,,,,not sure what is in the product,,,,,,not sure I would be comfortable drinking water with unknown chemical content added. Just thinking about it,,,,,,,,,,,and wondering,,,,,,
  3. Here is the Weber I believe a lot of folks are using. Weber
  4. Here is a link for the grill,,,,,However,,,,I was able to get one for a lot less than advertised here,,,,actually at a coleman outlet store in Florida. Coleman Grill I also got a flat grill grate,,,to cook bacon and eggs. Nothing like the smell of bacon in the morning outside while roughing it smoothly.......I got rid of the little portable gas canisters,,,,and picked up an 11lb gas tank and hose.....now,,,I don't have to mess with storing or running out of gas with the little canisters....good luck
  5. my pleasure,,,,not sure if you knew or not. I'm sure you will get some more input on the grills,,,,I have been set in my ways on the coleman we use,,,it is the second one,,,,although I have been tempted to try one of the stainless steel types. I am still looking for a self cleaning grillllllll,,,,,,lol.
  6. That is one of the reasons I went with Blue Ox,,,,,,,at a rally where they have tech's they will restore the tow bar if possible,,,, They use to do it as a customer service,,,,now I understand they charge $10,,,still a great deal. Also,,,according to my instruction manual,,,it does require minimal maintenance once a year. Glad all worked out and you didn't lose the car.
  7. Haven't had any experience with the firepits,,,,but they look interesting,, We use a coleman grill with a side burner,,,,and an 11lb tank with hose. I like it, because of the side burner,,,,which I use to cook zee fish and shrimps,,,which DW does not like to smell up the rv. The grill has a lid which locks closed and a grease tray... Also,,,,if I could provide you with a little information about your user name,,,,,it looks like your email address....you may not be aware,,,if it is your email address,,,,,potentially,,,you may end up getting a lot of unwanted spam emails......not from this site but from others that are able to scan various websites and collect emails that are listed in various places... Anyway,,,just thought I would bring that to your attention.. I have also seen a lot of great reviews for the baby weber grillls....
  8. Can't really help from personal experience on the remote tpms,,,,however,,,,, About 3 years ago,,,,,I had temporary cat's eye type monitors installed,,,,,,and was going to go with the Doran tpms,,,however,,,,,the temp monitors have worked extremely well, although there is no remote monitoring,,,,I check them at every stop while traveling. I was told when they were installed,,,if installed properly,,,they do a good job. That said,,,,I am looking at the TST,,which is similar to the Doran,,,,,I have read good things about the valve stem monitors,,,,,, Right now, I am in the, if it ain't broke mode,,,,,,,,, Good Luck with what you decide,,,,let us know how it works out.
  9. No Longer Curious!!!!! Sure is fun reading some great posts,,,,,,,interesting information,,,questions,,,etc,,,,,,alllllllll applicable to Motorhoming......... Although other forums are interesting,,,etc..... This is specific to where my interest lies,,,,and is becoming my primary source of entertainment......for forums.... Thanks to all who participate.....
  10. Not sure this helps,,,but have read some positive posts about this company. Bradd and Hall I believe we have Flexsteel in our coach,,,,,we can fly by the seat of our pants all day,,,,,,,they sure are comfortable for us. Good Luck
  11. I just use 2 email accounts, one for forwarding to my main email account which allows me to control junk mail,,,,and spam. If I unsubscribe from any email newsletter or other info,,,and I keep getting it,,,,I sure like my filter,,,,because I can redirect their email right back to them,,,,and never see anything from them again.
  12. Sounds like US Gear is what I am looking for,,,,Is it truly non-invasive?????? I don't want to tap into toad breaks,,,,,electrical system attttttalllll. Looks like all I need to do is find a competent Texas dealer to install the system.....After my research of readybrake fell apart,,,,,,I have been in limbo trying to decide on the braking system.
  13. I have been with progressive since 1999 with the exception of one year.....Boy,,,,,did I miss progessive.. The company I used for that one year had competitve rates,,,,but sure was a pain to pay,,,,had to call or mail payment. With progressive,,,I did everything online,, including print proof of insurance ID...everything with progressive is paperlesss,,,, Had a $5k comp claim with progressive due to tree damage from a storm,,,,,,,they did not bat an eye,,,great customer service... Others experience may be different.... just my 2cents
  14. Downloaded them to the Garmin,,,couple years ago and use them frequently....
  15. I had a small leak in a water filter line..... Found,,,I believe it is called Plumbers Tape....It is a two sided tape,,sticky on both sides and stretches.....it did the trick and is still working on a water line that is under pressure..... I believe I got it at Home Depot. Good Luck
  16. In the event that FMCA chooses to provide a business directory and campground directory which allows reviews,,,,any business listing where I have received services or stayed at a campground,,,,I will go back through my records and input my experience with any pertinent business or campground,,,if allowed. One thing I keep in mind when using a site that has allows reviews,,,,is that everyone has their own perception based on their personal experience,,,,and I consider all reviews subjective. However, that said,,,,,I do look for tangible comments,,,,as well as personal experiences. Obviously,,,the more reviews that have been recorded, the better to judge a particular business or campground....and whether I want to use that particular business or campground. An ability to input reviews,,,,may not be headache free,,,,but would sure be a valuable resource for FMCA members.....Also,,,,it would be interesting whether sponsored businesses would be interested in responding to reviews,,,,if appropriate,,,,and or have a section on the forum for a technical expert as another resource. Just mho. Anyway,,,thanks for asking for input...
  17. Finally,,,,made it to Tejas,,,,,been try'n to get here since 1836, when Travis put out the call,,,,,,wow what a trip. Accidentally full-timed for almost 3 years,,,while hunt'n a town and house in Texas.,,,,,in betwixt family related trips back east. Retired for 10 years now,,,never looked back,,,,,, Gramps,,,et. al.,,,,welcome and gotta Go! 13 days to Glory just came on...... John & Connie
  18. Just had Blue Ox base plates installed about a month ago,,,,,bought the Aventa LX from ppl on sale. Can't see the base plate on the Liberty unless you are looking for it....clean install,,,,bypass lighting,,,,does not splice into toad wiring. The Aventa stays on the back of the MH,,,,,just did a test tow recently before taking off for the summer,,,,only way I knew it was there was the camera. The Reason I went with Blue OX,,,,is reputation for customer service,,,,,which was the most important for me.....The research I do,,,is always based first on customer service,,,,i.e. Blue Ox, and Tiffin. Just mho.
  19. Thanks for the response,,,,,just starting to explore chapters,,,,
  20. Welcome Gramps,,,,,we all recently found this new forum.... Tell us,,,,how does it feel being married to a Very Smart Woman,,,, Think this will be a fun and valuable forum for exchanging info.
  21. Navy Corpsman,,,,,,,they ain't Marines,,,,they ain't sailors,,,,,,,,,they is "DOC" They are as revered by Marines as Chesty Puller,,,,,,, They are Our Doc's,,,,,,,,and nobody messes with our Doc. They our the Marines' "Hero" Give our best to Doc,,,,,and simply Thanks! Semper Fi
  22. My oldest son went in the Navy,,,but he was the one I dropped on his head when he was a baby. Had sons in the Marines,,,,and currently have 3 sons in the Army,,,,,so I can have fun with all the military services......... I think their mom dropped them when they were mere babes. It's all in fun,,,,,when the manure hits the fan,,,,,,,welllllllll,,,those boat rides still come in handy. Semper Fi to all, and to all Semper Fi.
  23. With just the 2 of us,,,,oughtta be easy.,,,,as Marines,,,,we should at least be able to agree on 99.9% of everything.,,,LOL. Have to save that .1%, just to keep things interesting. Don't know about you,,,,,but I sure do appreciate all those rides those Sailors provided,,,,so we could visit far off distant places,,,,,,meet interesting people,,,,,,and, and, and,,,,oh yea!,,, Win their Hearts and Minds!!!! That's for the PC crowd,,,,, Anyway,,,not much value in this post. Safe Travels
  24. I would like to give your question(s) some more thought,,,but my first reaction is: 1. A means to input member reviews of every business,,,,similar to rvservicereviews.com and rvparkreviews.com (I do not have any relationship with either of these sites) 2. Website link to the business/campground. 3. In the event something goes bad,,,,it would be nice to have a simple means for a fair resolution. Anytime I need service and or a campground,,,,the first place I go is to the above review sites to see what experiences others have had. Anytime I have used a business that has had reviews from others, I have not been disappointed. Customer service, honesty, and reliability/competence are my most important concerns when searching for a business. I don 't want to be ripped off any more than anyone else,,,,I don't mind paying a fair price for a service if I am confident that they will stand behind their work,,,,,If they have my confidence they have my business. I have my personal listing of businesses I have accumulated, throughout the country that I return if I am the area or even close when I need service. Without having access to members reviews of businesses,,,it would just be another search process,,,,and a shot in the dark as what to expect. Good Luck with your venture. {Maybe if businesses knew their service/sales would potentially have public reviews posted,,,,,,it might be a win,win for all,,,,business that do good work,,,obviously, their reviews would be what is expected. Other businesses,,,,,welllllll!
