  1. We just chose not to restring again and again,,,,,,just our choice. It was easy to install the blinds,,,,,,I removed the top and side valances,,,,which made it an easier install for me.......We try to do those things we can reasonably do,,,,and it is not a major project......DW doesn't have to make sure she is in the middle of the blind to open it,,,,,,especially if she has to lean over something....The blinds are easier for us to use......I don't notice anymore of a noise factor when traveling.. Eventuallly as the d/n blinds break,,,,they will be replaced also. Good Luck Labor of Love = interpretation============= Now I don't have to hear,,,,,sure don't like those day/night shades,,,,wish I had regular blinds,,,,now I get to hear,,,,,,,,wish they used a different pattern for the valances,,,,,,,,I wonder what a future product will be?????????????? oh, yea,,,,Another Labor of Love......... LOL.
  2. I used double side commercial tape,,,I believe I got it from HD, or Lowe's.....My plaque has been on for almost 3 years,,,,still there. I use it for a couple of metal decals on the Jeep as well.......They have worked great for me... Hope this helps.

  10. Not being a Native Texan,,,,in good company with Crockett, Bowie,,,Houston,,,,,,(fictional Texans,,,,McNabb, Campbell) et. al...... What I feel we have discovered about Texas,,,,,Texas, really is America,,,,,,it's not the wind, dust, drought, knats,,,,etc.,,etc....we believe it is two distinct things: Texas History (Legend which means factual) - And - TEXIANS, TEXICANS, Or TEXANS It's the PEOPLE,,,,,IT's FREEDOM! The friendliness of Texas is contagious,,,the type of contagion,,,,we have gladly caught.........I Love Texas,,,,,,, For all the reasons and listed and not listed above. 11. Just a wild thought -- to see if participants in this forum would be interested in getting together, or perhaps forming an FMCA.com Forums chapter. Here are a few reasons: 1. We have been looking at local chapters, but my wife and I are on the go too much to attend more than one chapter event per year. We could not carry our fair share of local chapter membership. 2. Our sons are scattered throughout the country, and family events, etc. sometimes prevent long-term planning and has kept us from attending a national convention. But hopefully that will change that over the next year, depending .... 3. Most importantly, we enjoy the folks on the FMCA.com forums -- the information exchange and just joking around, which I enjoy immensely. My view of forums, is that they should be fun, entertaining, and help folks resolve motorhome issues. 4. Since the FMCA Community forums are relatively new, and for motorhome owners, the culture of the forum really appears it is going to attract a fun group of folks with a common membership and a common interest. I'm not sure how this idea will shake out; this is just my view ... others may have a similar idea or they may have different ideas. Anyway, I'm just another crazy motorhomier, but there are some nice folks here on the forums who can joke around and also exchange serious info about the motorhome lifestyle. Activity is increasing, and so is the potential to meet many new folks. Just a thought -- John
  12. It really does look good. We removed our overhead TV,,,and set up a 37" flat panel on a TV Stand behind the Co-pilot seat,,,,bolted the stand to the floor, and secured the TV to the stand. The cabinet is empty,,,and tried without any luck so far to find a carpenter to finish the overhead cabinet,,,,now I am going to take a look at what you did,,,and revisit this project. Bein Texian,,,,I think I would make a visit to one of the home improvement stores,,,,and pick up the 5x trim and the decorative Texas Stars and mount one on each end of the the ceiling trim.....jmho,,,I think it would look good,,,,and the 5 inch width should be able to be covered..... Anyway,,,,you had a neat idea reducing the size of the overhead cabinet. Thanks for sharing it with the pics,,,,DW liked it,,,,,so there goes the drippin faucet.,,,,lol
  13. Puddles,,,, Howdy Neighbor,,,, We spent 3 winters here as you have and ended up becoming residents...Sure do like Kerr County. We stayed at Guadulupe,,,,,just wanted to be closer to the Aaaction....... Waiting to finish up annual Doc visits to hit the road to points east and beyond.......Will cry when crossing the easter Border of the Republic of Texas,,, Already,,,,pointed out the whine,,,,earlier. Know you will enjoy the summer in the Hill Country.....wish we would be here.... If you happen to be around in October,,,,,,,take a look at the Ranch Heritage days about 10 miles south of Bandera,,,,laid back,,,,enjoyable free event. Happy Days

  15. In the younger days,,,,took a 5th,,,occasionally,,,,,,,,,,,(not the Amendment) Now,,,it would probably kill me,,,,,,,,couldn't stand the headache that goes with it. Here's to your 5th, and raise you a fifth.
  16. Nice Job,,, Couldn't tell how much ceiling had to be repaired,,,,,but just wondering,,,,if a nice decorative wood trim might work.....Same color or tone of the cabinet. just a thought.
  17. Thanks zoo for more to think about,,,,, Doc never said anything about drink'n the watta,,,,did say go for the wine,,,,not whine. Everyone in favor of wine over water,,,,raise your bottle.
  18. Thanks for stirring the brain housing group.... Haven't seen them in the Dollar stores,,,,but I'll look closer the next time DW goes to the yellow store as the GD calls it. 19. Cooking Recipe For Grilling: 12 oz. Fresca 8 oz. Mrs. T's Margarita Mix (OR) Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix 4 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila,,,,or if you prefer the TJ tequila with the wormmmmm,,,,,the worm doesn't have to be grilled. Now,,,,having never been in a bar,,,,,,the above recipe is just a rumor,,,,,,,,and sworn to by a New Mexican as fact.... Sure is Goooood! Disclaimer: the above recipe is for personal nourishment,,,,,not for marination,,,,,,,,,,,OR it could be. Drink and Grill responsibly.
  20. As a Marine,,,,I have never been in a real bar! Soooo,,,,,does anyone have any idea where bar coasters (cardboard type) can be purchased. We have tried cork coasters, the suck it up rock type,,,etc.,,,none seem to work as well as those found in bars... If anyone has been in a bar,,,,,,,,,,any ideas where they can be found. Thanks,,,,, What exactly,,,,does a bar look like,,,,,,,

  22. Just received the 2009 Texas Travel Guide, I order it every year,,,and there are so many places to go and see,,,don't think it can be accomplished in one lifetime. The guide provides some hx of Texas Towns,,,,and things to see in each town. They alsosend a separate events guide. "Ditto" the Love of Texas What's Not to Love About Texas
  23. Must have missed that one!!!! Now for the rest of the Story!!!!!!
  24. Not sure what MH you have, or how the drain connections are configured,,,but when we had the class c,,,I was able to use a water hose and work it up the gray water outlet and turned the water on full and flushed it out,,,, Also,,,sometimes,,workers when installing tanks have left scrap in the tank that can block the outlet pipe. Not sure this helps much,,,,jmho,,,don't think I would use any of those harsh chemicals,,,,,I would spend some time and try the flush, flush and flush again to see if that helps. It is a pain when they drain slooooowly. Good Luck

No problems with the coach batteries after 3 years.
