Our plans are to spend winters at home in Texas,,,,late spring through fall traveling the eastern seaboard to visit with kidssss, family, etc. Does anyone participate or are members in any local chapters,,,,specifically,,,Texas chapters? Are chapters,,,,generally,,,,interested in having outside visitors join their rally's,,,I'm thinking mostly local eastern rally's when time allows during family visits. Are chapters interested in new members joing their groups,,,,,I'm thinking primarily,,,Texas,,,especially during late fall and winter events. Another just wondering,,,,and considering other options..... Thanks for your input.

It's funny, all the windows had the D/N shades, except the Kitchen window had a blind. We put the clips at the bottom, and I haven't noticed any difference in noise level. I can't stand rattling either, anyway, hasn't been a problem for me. Tha'ts why there are choices,,,,,different strokes and all that. That's why we have the workhorse, drove the ford, same model, etc,,,,just enjoyed driving the workhorse more. You're right about possibly reading into things,,,,I just write what I think,,,,jmho on things, and accept what others say in the same manner,,,,etc. Anyway,,,,,well said Wayne. I just enjoy exchanging info, and reading other opinions. If I only wanted one opinion, ,,,,,I guess I could send myself an email everyday,,,,,,LOL....come to think of it.....!!!!,just joking. I have seen on some forums,,,,folks sure can get testy.....I move on,,,,this is supposed to be fun..,,,, As far as the shades, there are many folks that sure love em.,,,that's fine......if everyone liked the same things,,,,we would all be driving Cheeeevy's,,,LOL I'm not sure what to make of the one comment,,,,I have been following your posts, as you know,,,,seems like we mostly been talkn to each other,,,,I haven't seen anything that sends up any flags,,,,to me.... I don't think it will neccessarily bring folks out of the woodwork,,,,but advertising must work somewhere......It should generate a little more interest,,,awareness. Most of the forums I have seen,,,,seem to have little participation,,,,compared to folks that view posts. Anyway,,,I can always find something interesting to read,,,I like this forum, because it is class A specific. Our repair solution as indicated is the Dumpster,,,,repalce with reliable blinds.,,,,never had to repair a blind string. Thats why they make different products,,,,,for different folks.

Don't think it's widely known yet. There is suppose to be an article coming out in the next issue of FMCA mag,,,,about the fourm. I hope it catches on as well, and I think it will as time goes on. Until then, there's some friendly folks here. When the day/night shade string breaks,,,,out they go and they get replaced with the old fashioned blinds. The d/n shades on our previous MH lasted 5 years before the strings started breaking....2 years on the current MH,,,,,,only one has broken so far,,,but I know its only a matter of time.

Good idea,,,,sometimes arriving late and forget to leave the light on,,,,,getting the lock open is a magic trick. I would like a more permanent install though. I use the commercial two sided tape for a couple of chrome decals on the jeep. I have not had any problem losing them in Florida or Texas in the summer. I haven't seen those motion lights,,,,will have to look for them on the next trip to CW. Thanks for sharing the idea.

One of the best hx books I have read is Lone Star, its also one of the most difficult hx books starts way before Texas was Tejas,,,,covers the geological, and earliest known inhabitants. Then goes through Texas hx into the mid 1900's. I have read it 3 times and will again,,,,,(slow learner),,,every read I learn something new.. Also,,,even though it contains both historical and fictional accounts,,,,,Michener's TEXAS,,,,the book and the movie are really interesting and enjoyable. Another interesting Texas book,,,,is the one published for Tourists, which covers the towns and cities of Texas, gives hx information, and some stats. Actually,,,,I got Lone Star as a Christmas gift years back from one of my son's,,,,before we ever seriously thought of moving to Texas. Guess we all have a little cowboy in us.

Here is the question I sent to Ready Brake: Optin: checkbox Title: RV-OWNER Comments: I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty 4x4 Sport, and after reviewing the installation instructions for the ready brake, it appears as though it may not be possible to install the front aircraft wire loop to the front of the Liberty due to the new Liberty design.Can you make any suggestions for installing the ready brake loop connection on the Liberty?I have a Blue Ox base plate installed.Thank you in advance for any suggestions. I like the readybrake concept, but am concerned that I am unable to install/or have it installed due to the Liberty design. Thanks Rich, I'll look at the US Gear, seems like folks that us the US Gear are happy. On the 2008 Liberty, as part of the towing process, the negative battery cable is supposed to be disconnected. I setup a simple batter disconnect. Although, there are those towing the 2008 liberty, and not disconnecting the battery cable and they are reporting that they are not having any negative impact by not disconnecting the cable. That said,,,,,I am concerned about not following manufacturer towing instructions specifically, due to any potential warranty issue. I'll look as the US Gear. Does US Gear tap into any of the toad vehicle electrical or brake system to work? I'm sure there website probably covers that. Thanks again. Some of the braking systems as I understand it can only be used on a DP. I have a gasser, I don't recall offhand, but there was one system that could not be used with gas. Anytime we go to SA, we always visit the Shrine Of Texas. I have never been there that it hasn't caused solemn thoughts. I truly love San Antonio de Valero Mission and what it stands for. The best gift I have ever received is a Texas Flag that flew over the Alamo on September 1, 2008, from my DW. We officially became Texans on Aug 31, 2008. Tried getting to Texas since 1836, just took the long way around. Anyway, enjoy San Antonio de Bexar or Bejar.........

After the event, please let us know how it went, and your thoughts on all the RV parking, events, etc. Haven't been to one yet, but hoping to in the future ... seems like something with family going on in different parts of the country when events are scheduled. Almost made one in 2006. Sure looks interesting. Have fun.

I recently had the Liberty set up for towing with a Blue Ox base plate, Aventa LX, and the tail lights are non-invasive, bypassing the jeep wiring, the lights are totally controlled by the MH. I did a short 10 mile test drive towing the Liberty without supplemental brakes. Tows nicely, blue ox sets up and disconnects is easily. I am interested in a Non-invasive supplemental braking system, trying to avoid temporary brake box type systems. I really like the ReadyBrake concept. However, after reviewing the installation, and the way the front of the Liberty is designed, it looks like there isn't a location to connect the aircraft cable loop assembly. I emailed readybrake to see if they have a solution for installing the readybrake on the Liberty. I really do not want a system that splices into the motorhome or Jeep braking system. That's why the Readybrake looked like the way I wanted to go. Has anyone installed the ReadyBrake on a 2008 Jeep Liberty? I have just started reading about the US Gear, and will look closer at a couple of the other braking systems. Just looking for some other thoughts, and what supplemental braking system others are using. Or any suggestions. Thanks

Big Question,,,,,,,, We sold our home in 2006, and did not intend to fulltime, we went househunting. It took almost 3 years before we found where we wanted to live and bought a home. Although we have had 6 or 7 RV's since 1976, we only fulltimed for those 3 years. One thing I learned is you can spend as much or as little as you want your lifestyle to be while traveling. Some costs will be the same whether in a house or RV; some costs RVing will replace some costs of living in a house. You can also visit various campgrounds online in various areas you plan to travel and look at daily, weekly and monthly costs for RV lots. Generally, the longer you spend at a location the lower the lot costs. There are various organizations to research that may reduce your costs, such as FMCA, Escapees, Passport America, Good Sam, to name a few,,,,and other camping organizations which offer other types of memberships. (Disclaimer, I have no personal or fuduciary interest whatsoever in any of those mentioned). If you have never RV'd, you may not want to jump in with both feet until you try it out. You are taking the right approach by starting to research. There are several forums where you can do a search on costs of Rv'n, some folks have even published their annual expenses. We will never give up our RV, sure is nice traveling at your own pace, sights to see, sleeping in your own bed everynight, and on and on and on. The downside is an individual perception.......The only downside for us is when we go to visit family, there aren't that many RV Parks we enjoy staying at for an extended time while visiting them. This forum is a new forum and there isn't a lot of historical info available here right now,,,,,,but here is a site that will help answer a lot of your questions....It is a website where most folks are engaged in fulltiming:::: Escapees RV Club Again, if you take your time and do sufficient research, and then decide to fulltime in the near future, you will have a more enjoyable experience. If you have never had an RV, you can rent them rather than jumping in all at once. OR If you want an adventure,,,,,you can do your research and then go for it,,,,,obviously, that will be your most important decision imho. But if it is not your cup of tea, you may want to make sure you have the resources and means to return to a house if you decide it isn't for you. You just don't want to be trapped in a lifestyle that isn't what you expected. I didn't tell her that was 1 minute after I drove it off the lot, lol. She has difficulty understanding why anyone would purchase something they didn't NEED, that did not appreciate. She didn't ask me how much my boat appreciated,,,,,,

Interesting Fix. Fortunately, or unfortunately seems over the years most of our RV problems have been mechanical.,,,,fuel pumps, fuel pumps, fuel pumps, and a couple tires. We have had good luck with the RV's we have owned. I have always been serious about PM,,,,it has paid, imho. Most things we have done involve personal comfort items, preferences. The day/night shades are nice in theory, bu DW has a strong dislike for opening and closing them,,,,so when they break, they get replaced with the trusty ole blinds. It is interesting reading what others do with their MH, towing, places, etc...etc.

I have been practicing all my life to attain that skill. We can stumble through the pic process. sure is interesting. Is it unanimous or quorum?
