  1. What specifically are you looking for? What area? There are groups that are religion based, Coaches for Christ for example, nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't join a religion based group myself but won't work to prevent them from forming or joining such a group. There are brand specific groups, most of whom I wouldn't qualify for since I don't have the correct brand. Others are service oriented, Habitat for Humanity (which is a religous based but not for preaching). Keep looking, you'll find something. What are your interests? Maybe we could start our own chapter. I'm into motorcycles, model railroads, museums, historical locations, military, aviation, travel, cultures, lighthouses, mountains, forests. You could always start a chapter of your own with people of like minded beliefs. Don't be discouraged, there is always hope.
  2. Great looking job you did. When would you be able to do something with my projects? Welcome to the FMCA forum, good to have you here.
  3. The hitch rating should be stamped into the hitch, at least the class should be.
  4. Alegro Bus weights: GVWR: 27,910 Lbs, GCWR: 32,910 Lbs. = 5000lbs Ford F350 curb weight (Curb weight (US) or Kerb weight (UK) is the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables (e.g. motor oil and coolant), a full tank of fuel, while not loaded with either passengers or cargo ) 4944lbs Do you know the class of hitch you have installed on your Bus? If it's the standard class III hitch you are going to overload the hitch, the class III hitch has a weight rating of 5000lbs. I think you are going to be stretching the limits of your bus and hitch.
  5. I would have to say that unless specifically listed on a sign, as they are in Indiana, a motorhome would follow the car speed limit.
  6. You can also find him here: http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=79852 his name is Kirk. He has been volunteering his way around the country for the last 10 years.
  7. Put the cruise on at 60mph and you'll be ok in 49 of 50 states.

  10. The satellite service providers are not RV minded since we are a very small portion of the population in general. Each local channel has it's own scrambled signal code so other people don't steal the "free over the air" content. When I go somewhere I use the batwing antennae for the local channels, whcih isn't very often as we use the radio a lot more. When we hit the road fulltime I will be getting the RV exemption and get the east and west coast network feeds.
  11. I've never had a signal lower than 75 with Dish, even in Ohio/Kentucky. Maybe it's because I'm using a tripod with a Dish 500 dish.
  12. Here is what I use; http://cgi.ebay.com/Digisat-3-Pro-Satellit...=item5ad2956684 First I turn on the sat box and TV, go to setup, and plug in the zip code of where I am. The sat box gives me the declination, elevation, and skew. I am using a tripod for my dish, so I go out and adjust the dish to the skew, and elevation. Then I plug in the above meter and fine tune the dish by rotating it side to side. When I get the highest signal I can I'm done andd go in and watch TV. Never had a problem even in some heavy wooded areas of southern Ohio/northern Kentucky. On the other note, I to would like to be able to shop for programming ala carte.
  13. Local channels are spot broadcast via a narrow cone, when you leave home you are now outside the broadcast area.
  14. Something like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-DZV-HDX277WC-1000...=item45ef1131ca http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-DAV-HDZ273-1080p-...=item414a52f1e5 http://cgi.ebay.com/Insignia-NS-H2002B-5-1...=item2c517dfd6b http://electronics.shop.ebay.com/Home-Thea...d=p3286.c0.m282
  15. At least seven people are dead and 20 wounded in a mass shooting Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, and at least one suspect is believed to be holed up in a building and shooting at SWAT team members, NBC News and affiliate KCEN reported. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33678801/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/?GT1=43001
  16. I saw Wayne77590's post about shades in another thread but can't remember where, but thought I might pass along what we did. My wife thought the day/night shades just didn't do the job, so we went to Wal-Mart (no comments about Wal-Mart, please) and bought some very thick dark curtains and expandable rods. We cut the curtains in half lengthwise, top and bottom had the rod sleeve thingy. Then we put them up inside the valence at the top where it attaches to the wall. We have since had the new now bottom of the curtains sewn so it looks nice. The bedroom is now dark on the brightest days. : ) Mike x];-}
