  1. The issue was not just having problem it was communications from Tech Connect personnel and how they are selling the service. Many people called in with the AT&T service saying they were getting a max of 12MB down and were told others are getting 30 or 40 and being putting off is isolated problem. The guy I was with at an RV park we could physically see the tower and I was getting 40 to 60 on my phone and he Speedtest would jump to 45 then back down and settle on 12MB. He call Tech Connect and told other we're getting 40 on Speedtest and they would look into his problem. It was not until other creditable organizations report that the plan number on the FMCA SIM was a business speed cap plan of 12MB. Finally Tech Connect come clean and told people that it was a Speed Cap Plan of 12MB. Now they describe the plan correctly and someone doesn't have order to find out that meets their needs or.not. "The plan being offered through AT&T is a very usable 12 Mbps max speed, with the option to upgrade to 25 Mbps for an additional $5.00 per month. The plan is still unlimited data and is truly unlimited. If you have used 75 GBs or more, and you are in a congested area, you may notice reduced speeds because of data prioritization." The 12 Mbps will work for large number of users but not all and the 24 Mbps will probably be enough except for some heavy gamers or power users. I debating now if I should signup for the 25 Mbps plan as a backup to a one of faster plans.
  2. So we not calling it a CAP but still speed limited to 12MB and that should be stated up front so we don't have to order one just find it there is enough data speed to do Zoom and up and download files at the same time. Claiming High Speed doesn't register with me when it limited to 12mb.. I do find it interesting that "Internet Resource Center" got the plan number off of one FMCA SIMS and had a contact person within AT&T and was told the plan blocks streaming. My neighbor at the campgrounds had the plan and was getting the full 12 MB but stream was buffering and unusable. So is this plan also limiting streaming like "Internet Resource Center" claims in the video I posted above or are they incorrect about it?
  3. Here is what "Mobile Internet Resources Center" sys about the FMCA plan.
  4. Here is what it says on your FMCA page and I quote..".No overages or data caps apply on their network". As of 10:00 Central it still states that. "After 75GB, you still get unlimited LTE data but may at times notice reduced speeds in areas with network congestion. At AT&T unlimited is truly unlimited. No overages or data caps apply on their network. Data prioritization will only be noticeable when you access a congested tower and have used over 75GB of data in a particular billing cycle. You will continue to get unlimited high-speed data on your mobile hotspot when you aren’t accessing a congested tower. In that way it’s different from data throttling, which slows you down for the remainder of your bill cycle regardless of network conditions, all the time. Their policy is also in line with common industry standards for network management, which are designed optimize network performance and service." How do you "Download speed is 12mbps guaranteed."? I have AT&T phone and at River Bend RV park in CO I get NO SERVICE on my AT&T phone. How do you "guaranteed" any amount of speed? My speed varies depend on location and no way to guaranteed any amount of download speed.
  5. I would NOT be upset as long as FMCA would would NOT advertise it as "Uncapped and Unlimited" since it seems that people on here and other forums are see that it is data cap of 12mb. Why should I have to order it and find out after it arrives it doesn't fit my needs. The 12mb will fit a lot people requirements and it great deal even at 59.99 as long as it truly unlimited just does not meet my data requirements.
  6. The only thing I getting from Calyx is great service and the truth unlike FMCA Tech Connect.
  7. Im not sure what you meant my 'money is not object" because there are cheaper plans out there. The FMCA plan its 719.88 per year which is more than the 5g plan the second year.
  8. Just talk with another person with the FMCA AT&T plan running in a Pepwave and only get 12Mbps. Just seems odd that people on here and other forums are getting the max of 12Mbps in different locations. Moonwink Here is the speeds required for streaming SD (480p): 3+ Mbps HD (720–1080p): 5–13+ Mbps 4K (UHD, 2160p): 16–25 MbpsI The 12 mb will work fine with a HD TV and is useable but not others.. If it is true that this is AT&T business plan that has a 12MB cap then FMCA should be up front and says so. But here is what they posted on the website "After 75GB, you still get unlimited LTE data but may at times notice reduced speeds in areas with network congestion. Their policy is also in line with common industry standards for network management, which are designed optimize network performance and service."
  9. I use several but the quick and easy ones is Speedtest.net and speedof.me
  10. One of the fellow campers got the AT&T Sim from FMCA and was getting the same results as you. We stood side by side and run Speed Test on AT&T phone I was getting around 50 and his Speed Test would jump to around 40 then stabilize at 12. Just for reference I'm getting around 80 to 90 on my grandfathered Version plan which is rare these days. My Calyx T-Mobile plan is getting between 350 and 400. I have only used the service west of the Mississippi and the T_Mobile plan (either FMCA or Calyx) have been faster than Verizon or AT&T.
  11. I don't need secret phone numbers and I have already moved on from FMCA and got the https://calyxinstitute.org/membership/internet hotspot that only 41 buck month with tech support that you need a special phone number or someone to rattle the cages. A few more months membership and I can move on......
  12. And I bet. you send email and responds in less then NEVER and you call in and talk to someone without getting voicemail. I bet you even get call back faster than NEVER. LOL. I guess all the people on here that haven't been able to get tech to respond it's there fault for not waiting longer than NEVER. LOL
  13. Yes, I have seen that also. I have TWO M2000 on T-Mobile and can compare. I find that evenings the FMCA one slows way down but still usable so far but my other M2000 speeds stay very close to the same in the mornings or during prime time in the evenings.
  14. I didn't get any email and I still have the M2000 with Sprint SIM. I tried several times with emails and phone calls to find out what I needed to do if anything. After dozen emails and voice mails I gave up and contacted Calyx with several question and got a responds in less than hour. I got a M2000 from Calyx couple weeks ago and going to return the one from FMCA and so I will be saying goodby to FMCA.... I even paid my 10 bucks to get into the Tucson FMCA Rally and they had one person at the booth and waited longer than it took to get reply from Calyx and finally just waked away..
  15. Here is important information on the FMCA Connect plan. I called Calyx and was told there no plans to replace the M2000 and is part of their contract with T-Mobile.
  16. NO, the 750 for the first year 250 of that is for the purchase of the M2000. I can see your point about not owning but I do like that fact that I do own. Just as a note. For the last three days my Speedtest went from 300 to 400 on average down under 10. The campgrounds that I'm in has their own Facebook page and there was complaints that T-Mobile phones was dropping calls and timing out on Facebook. It affected both the Caylx and the FMCA and lasted about 3 days. Know it's back and seems that averages are high then before the problems. During those three days Verizon had no service seems that AT&T wasn't affected .
  17. I think another important difference is the Hotspot is yours to keep. I have the M2000 from Calyx and I think it worth the 250.00 the first year to own it.
  18. I did a little research on the subject of Sprint and T-Mobile firmware difference and found that INSEEGO provides hotspot upgrades to the the various cell providers and it is the the cell provides authorize the upgrade of their devices. My Caylx is using a new firmware than the FMCA M2000 and that could be because my FMCA is still on Sprint which we know is going away.
  19. Not to make you feel bad but here is my Caylx M2000 5G connection today.
  20. I'm at Rincon West in Tucson AZ within the city limits and getting 0.5 to 1.5 today on Verizon today and 80 to 160 on AT&T phone but T-Mobile from Calyx is getting between 250 and 300 on Speedtest.com Yep so it is location, location, locations. In the last 6 month I have not had Verizon or ATT out preform T-Mobile . Since the merger T-Mobile is getting better and better and they are not the T-Mobile of the past.
  21. On your 4G how many sites on Speedtest did you get 500? Right now I getting over 300 on speed test using M2000 showing 5G connection.
  22. To me it doesn't make any difference since FMCA wants the M2000 back and going to give me some 4G hotspot as a replacement. People say that 5G is rare but my experience has been that most sites I have been I had a 5G signal including the site I spend the 3 plus months at in the winter. My M2000 still has the Sprint sim so could be the difference between performance of the hotspot. I still like the option of having a tech support number that someone answers the phone. Not sure how they will respond to problem, I just called to ask a question. I also tried the web based support and got a email back within a couple of hours.
  23. We have the FMCA hotspot and after trying to get hold of tech support about what going to happen with my M2000 I joined Calyx with the 750.00 5G plan. I have been running the side by side and the Calyx M2000 has not required a reboot in 30 days and I have to reboot the FMCA M2000 server times. I get constant readings using speed test on the Calyx one and it varies on the FMCA. One feature I really like about Calyx is you call tech support someone answered the phone. Calyx cost 750 a year (61 a month) for the first year and the second year it will cost 500 (41 a month). I will be canceling my FMCA account so I don't have to deal with the non senses and non support issues. I will end my FMCA membership and the end of this membership period.
  24. I guess anyone that depends on connectivity for their job and uses FMCA Sprint Connection will just have to wait till next year for tech support.
  25. But I have been assured that better than was.... Does that make feel better. LOL FMCA has problem and the management needs to grab the bull by the horns and get fixed.
