  1. Hmmmm.. You must of been one of those elitist that won't let me join the HitchHiker RV Club because I owned a Montana! Of coarse I was a member of the Montana group that wouldn't let Hitchhiker RV join. I was also a member of Corvette Club that wouldn't let a Dodge Viper join. Guess there is a lot of elitist in the world!
  2. My coach is 2017 Discovery LXE 40D and the coach in at factory repair in Texas so not sure about the brand but I do believe that right next to the power cord reel there black box with 'Surge Guard" label on it and come from the factory that way. Off Topic --- We brought our coach to Fleetwood Factory Repair to get it done right. We need a recall on the awning done and our kitchen counter was lose. They reattached the counter to the outside wall and screwed 13 screws thought the wall and sticking out on the outside of the coach. Now it's in the body shop getting repaired. So much for getting it down right.
  3. That is what Fleetwood Tech support told me about my coach. Now I don't know if yours is the same as mine. Hopefully some one with more knowledge than me will chime in and explain why you should or shouldn't use two surge protectors.
  4. I was told by Fleetwood Support that the transfer switch was also a surge protector in my coach. They said that placing two surge protector that are capable of regulating power will/could confess the Surge guard and could cause damage to the transfer switch. I have the same one in the picture above left over from my 5er days.
  5. Here is the reference I using to the camping in and around Grand Tetons.
  6. Dish started the option listed below a few months ago. Only problem is the time of evening they will be on since they are from the west cost. "Never miss a moment of your favorite shows on major networks like ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC – no matter where you roam! Add Distant Network Service*** to your package for just $10/mo and you will have HD channels from Los Angeles wherever you go, meaning you can watch your favorite Thursday night comedies even if you are hundreds of miles from home."
  7. We book Grizzly RV park for three weeks but make sure you sitting down when the quote the price. I understand that north of Jackson there lot dry camping that is very cheap or free and we plan to take advantage of that on the way home from yellow stone for few days.
  8. Any word on when they revamp the forum to include all the towable categories?
  9. I believe that has changed and now you a moved to the nearest adequate faclility and not to your home if you require rehab they will fly home on a commercial plane. I understand the recent change to cut cost of the ASSIST program I also understand that if you have insurance ASSIST will bill them for the move. I know for a fact that Medicare and my supplement will also cover moving us to a adequate faclility but they won’t pay for airline ticket to fly home for rehab.
  10. And I got my renewal letter in the mail today. LoL. I will stay a member of Good Sams for the benefits but is the assist worth the money since I have 6 years left on my tires. I’m part time a rarely more than days drive from home. If you are a full timer isn’t you Motorhome your home. I think GS Motorhome magazine and is dedicated to just Motorhome is better than FMCA’s but GS magazine comes at a addditional cost.
  11. If I was in the Lake of the Qzarks RV Park when shoots were fired and sure wouldn’t want to be in my coach with a can wasp spray or getting my dog shot or putting on my wing tips to kick the guy. I also won’t run around the park with a gun try to find the guy but I would lock load my S&W Governor pistol with six 410 personnel defensive shotgun shells and stop someone with a gun from entering my coach and threaten my family. I probably in my life time be faced with a gunman but i’m Sure the two killed in the Ozark RV Park thought the same thing. The world is changing and not for the better.
  12. I have Co-pilot for RV and the 760 RV and compare routes and 99% of the time they are the same route. We also have a built in Rand McNally that will put you on some back roads that i’m Not comfortable driving on. The Co-Pilot I can zoom out and see the complete route and adjust it if needed and zoom in to area in question. I run on a IPad Pro with a 12’ Screen that has cell built in and great option for me eyes. They are both great options but being able to see the complete route and adjust by dragging the route sets it apart from the 760.
  13. I agree in the past I didn't feel a need to have a weapon in my coach. Just a couple of months ago in the Lake of the Ozarks RV park in Mo a man went crazy and shot and killed two people. In that case I would want some sort of protect if he decided I was next on his list and was trying to gain access my coach. I wouldn't jump out and play John Wayne and hunt the guy down but I would protect my family. I have stayed in the very park about two years ago. http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Police-investigate-crime-scene-at-Lake-Ozark-RV-park-456153773.html
  14. I carry a S&W Governor that is 6 shot pistol in the coach loaded with 410 shotgun shells called the personnel defense rounds. The shells have three 30 cal disk and 12 steel BBs in each shell. I don't carry outside the coach and so far haven't felt a need but the could change in the future and that is sad!!!. The same pistol will shoot 45 auto using moon clips and 45 long colt.
  15. Those that registered their coach in South Dakota looks like they are turning over list to people to other states. Just a heads up! Here is the link to the info.... http://rapidcityjournal.com/news/south-dakota-officials-target-vehicle-license-plate-fraud/article_3d0515e8-7d34-11df-b02e-001cc4c002e0.html
  16. Below is a link straight off my Amazon order list and the I received. Is that the wrong stuff? Makes the RV smell nice but did nothing for mice. I also put packets of mouse/rat poison under my generator so hopefully they won't use that route to get in. 14 packets later I purchased a game cam and wasn't hoards of mice but a possum eating my poison. Picked up all the packets and left the game cam and comes back every night looking for more. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QVNKSA2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  17. We put several plastic cups with pepper mint oil and cotton balls and the mice stole the cotton balls. We also had a mouse eat a complete pack of cayenne pepper. We ended up with traps with peanut butter.
  18. If you have AT&T service you need to check out the Direct TV bundle and streaming and see if works and if not check out the AT&T Mobley. Link to Mobley below. https://drivinvibin.com/2017/04/24/unlimited-cell-data-for-20-the-mobley-by-att/ https://drivinvibin.com/2017/04/24/unlimited-cell-data-for-20-the-mobley-by-att/ This plan may of ended last July..... Check with AT&T to see if it has been extended since I have heard recent users getting the plan..
  19. Maybe I not understanding the deal. I have a single line with 5g for data plan that base cost before taxes is 60.00 bucks a month. Ask what a Unlimited plan upgrade would cost and was told 20.00 bucks a month for a total of 80 bucks a month plus taxes. I check it out on Version website and what the sales guy me told is correct. I can use my smart phone as a hot spot so what are the advantages of Jetpack over using the phone has hot spot? Why wouldn't I just added the Unlimited plan for 20 bucks to my phone that need anyway?
  20. Looks like Road Master on the ball and has a fix for the Blue Ox light kit problem. Here is link to the fix.... https://www.etrailer.com/Tow-Bar-Braking-Systems/Roadmaster/RM-88400.html
  21. I have the 7 pin connector. The problem is the Jeep and many other toads. There is two filaments one for running lights and one for brake and turn signal. Everything works correctly when check static. The problem comes in is there is only one wire going to the second filament for brakes and turn signals. The coach will turn off and on the current going to down the single wire to that filament to turn the brake/signal filament off and on but when the Patriot II system press on the brake pedal in the toad sends a steady signal down that same wire over riding the on/off signal sent from the coach for blinkers. The problem is the Blinkers blink till the Patriot II braking system in the toad pushes on the brake pedal and turns on the brake lights from the toad. If you have a braking system that doesn't press on the brake pedal and activate the toads brake lights then you everything will work as it should. I would of like to know prior to installing I would made different product selection that works what I feel the would should. My coach is a 2017 Discovery LXE 40D and my two toads are 2017 Grand Cherokee and 2017 Jeep Wrangler.
  22. I had installer install the Blue Ox light kit on my Jeep and it was working as advertised I thought. I also have a braking system that uses the brake pedal when the jeep brakes are active the turn signal DOES NOT OPERATE but the brakes lights over ride the turn signal. Thinking I had problem with the install I called Blue Ox tech support and was told that is correct, the turn signal and brake light uses same wire. Not having a turn signal while the braking system in the toad is active isn't a problem according to tech support and just the way it works. No fix planned and been that way for years. We stand behind the motor home each time we hook up to check lights but I never thought about activating the braking system that pushes on the brake pedal and checking to see if the turn signals still work with the Patriot braking system (or any system the used the brake pedal) would over ride the turn signal. . Everything is Blue Ox and I thought I was avoiding problems buy stick with one manufacture.
  23. When I had my first Wobble event with my 2017 Grand Cherokee I felt that it could cause damage to the mounting points and in the back of mind I didn't think it would safe to tow it long term. I felt strong enough that I went out purchased a 2017 Wrangler to replace it as a toad.
  24. I also you CO-Pilot and I also have a Garmin 760RV GPS and both allow input of weight and size of your RV and finds routes that are suitable. CO-Pilot and Garmin agree most of the time. I also have a built in Rand McNally that also takes the specs from your RV but seems to route down a lot of two lane roads that are questionable RV routes. There is several versions of CO-Pilot and I have the one made for RVs.
  25. Seems hard to find a good or bad review on the FMCA towing. I currently have the 109 dollar version but lack of reviews and seems that the majority of the senior forum posters use some other company I doubled up and purchase Good Sams.
