  1. There is lot s of places to boondock for free in the area if you are interested in doing it. Boondock Grand Tetons Some more sites you might want to look at.
  2. Not towing you might want to look at Lake Side Rv Park. It's located by the lake and within walking distance of old town. The park is run by the City of Branson and has great WIFI, level spots and friendly staff with large pull thru and some back in. There are several nice place to eat and upscale shopping district within walking distance of the RV park. There Farmer market (forget what days) and Bass Pro shop also withing walkin distance. There is also a couple of bus stop in the park with trolley type bus. You can also withing walking distance of the train depot.
  3. That is because the L11 had T-Canes made out ceramic for fuel jets. The hole in the middle for fuel and holes around the out side using balancing air to keep the flame away fro the T-Canes. If the air was unbalanced it would case the flame to touch the T-Canes and burn the end right off and dump fuel into the combustion chamber. I have seen them spit N1 and N2 turbine blades out the back of the engine and spin compressor so fast it would stretch the blades and they would touch compress half liners. L13 was the first one that used metal jets but still depended on balancing air to keep the flame away from the jet... Wow what a flash back.... 67n2F VN 68-69 70-71 --- Retired 20 years 16 days but who was counting. Retired as Quality Control Supervisor 67W4F
  4. I got a couple of free copies of Good Sams Motorhome magazine and planning on subscribing to it. I like better it than FMCA especially now they going to have pull behinds.
  5. There are vehicles that state in the owners manual to run engine and shift gears ever so many miles/hours of towing. The automatic Wrangler owner manual doesn't make any mention of having start and shift gears in my owners manual. I have towed mine for about 4000 miles and sometimes several days at a time without start the engine.
  6. The guy down from us has a Cedar Creek and asked him and he said he runs about 23% pin weight. We normally load about 1500 pounds over UVW so that would be 3335 pin weight and our 1 ton Diesel had the payload of 3722 with the hitch, my wife and me we had 3220 left over for pin weight that would put us over. At 16,000 GVWR that would 3680 well over our max payload. I would say you probably be over the trucks GVWR with SRW truck. I would have to recommend a DRW. That is the exact reason I sold my 5er and bought a motorhome. The last weighting I was 3300 under my max payload with my coach and we are carrying more in coach then we every carried in the 5er.
  7. I was told that FMCA Assist will no longer medivac you home but just to the near facility that can care for you and so will Medicare. It will provide a commercial airline ticket home for rehab if needed. But all the Lear Jet medivac stuff has been cut out recently.
  8. Before buying our Grand Cherokee we looked at the Cherokee and in 2017 in the manual under 4 down towing it did mention that the harness to power the EPS was mandatory for towing 4 down. So we bought the Grand Cherokee because the harness wasn't required - little did we know that less the 6 months after buying it we found we had the wobble.
  9. Wayne Just to let you know. My home TV I get my normal local channels but Do NOT get the "Distance Network" channels which are in the 900 range. In the Coach, I get both the Local Channels since I'm at home right now and also get the "Distance Network" channels in the 900 range. Leaving for Tucson AZ Saturday....
  10. WTW I have 2017 Grand Cherokee and had the wobble but ours was in a turn and less than 10 miles per hour and shook the entire coach and yes felt like out duals went flat. I can't imagine going 60 miles per hour and having it happen.
  11. Ours we bought March 2017 and just over 14,000 miles and leaving for Tucson on Saturday....
  12. You get all the wonderful commercials for Los Angles, the weather, the car chases, news. Sent you a PM
  13. I have both on the same account. I have a Hooper 3 and Joey at home and two Wallys for the coach and I don't have separate accounts for the house and the coach and only pay 7 dollars a month each for the Wallys in the coach. The only problem I have run into is calling into and tech support telling me I can't have a Hooper 3 and Wally on the same dish. I do have a contact at Dish that handles Distance Networks that I can PM you. I don't have separate accounts and I'm not full time and agree that wouldn't be worth the expense if you had to have two accounts. I sent you a PM......
  14. Hermanmullins I have the "Distance Network " for about month and I still have locals on my home TV a Hopper 3/Joey network. I have not tried to get locals on my Dish in my coach since I got "Distance Network" but I will try Thursday when I get the coach out storage for our first real trip of the year.
  15. Couple comments. You can now get "Distance Networks" from Dish that has ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox from Los Angles Ca for 10.00 per month cost. You can call Dish and have your service address switched but all the moving we do that was a hassle so we went with the Distance Network option. The only real negative I have found is prime time is on the west coast time. The news is little different - at least to someone that lives in the middle of the USA. On Dish, most of us have experienced the " Not Authorized to View This Channel" or something to that effect. In the past, we had to call dish support and get them to "Re-Authorized the receiver. Now you can download the App "My Dish" and go to the 'Out Door" section and Re-Authorize your dish without calling Dish. It says it takes about 5 to 10 minutes but I have seen complete in just a couple of minutes.
  16. When my external Progressive took a lighting hit and arched from the case to power pedestal and left burnt marks on the case of the progressive. I decided that I would rather have that million volts from the lighting strick to terminate outside my RV rather than inside my RV. Progressive had to replace my unit because it was damaged beyond repair.
  17. They were turning at low speeds one was turning left and one right. I use all blue ox tow bar and baseplate. One was with my Cricket golf cart in the back and one without. My tow bar is as close to perfectly level as I can get it less than 1 inch high.
  18. We have a 2017 Grand Cherokee and in the last 7,000 miles of towing had the wobble twice. There is a thread running on IR2 about this issue the Grand Cherokee and there isn't a fix for it but Fiat is working one but the problem is it took them two years to fix the problem in the Cherokee. The wiring harness you talking goes on just the Cherokee and will not work on the Grand Cherokee. The second time it accrued it was violent enough that we decided not to tow it 4 down anymore and purchased a 2017 Wrangler to tow 4 down. You own the Grand Cherokee you can get the death wobble and Fiat solution is not to tow 4 down but on a trailer with all wheels off the ground and that is the official responds from Fiat to CYA.
  19. Manholt - The first time was before I owned the Cricket and one after.
  20. So far there isn't a harness for the Grand Cherokee and the one that fits the Cherokee won't work on the Grand Cherokee. Yes, most of the ones have been in a turn but now there been some reports of it happening at highway speeds. We have had it happen twice in 7,000 miles and both times was in a turn from a stop. Now Jeep has done CYA and told us not to tow the Grand Cherokee 4 down till they work out fix and who knows when that will be.
  21. I also used the Blue Ox baseplate and towbar but I got the dreaded death wobble and Jeep recommend I only tow the Grand Cherokee Limited on a trailer with all four wheels off the ground. There is a huge thread on IR2.com about the problem and jeep is working on a fix but nothing yet.
  22. I have towed my 2017 Grand Cherokee Unlimited and I have towed for about 6000 miles and I had the death wobble twice. There suppose to be a survey coming out in the next issue of the FMCA magazine address the problems many of us have had with the 16 and 17 GC with the electric power steering (EPS). Both FMCA and Jeep are aware of the problem and working on a fix probably similar to the wire harness that required to be installed on the Cherokee.
  23. Would one of these work https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Ox-BX88271-Bypass-Switch/dp/B009APJ2UU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514330687&sr=8-1&keywords=Tow+fuse+switch Pulling fuses is pain and this would just have flip a switch....
  24. I have a short barrel S&W Governor that hold 6 rounds rounds and can be any combination of 410 shotgun shells, 45 long Colt or 45 auto. I load mine with six 410 personnel defense shot gun shells. When I go to Yellow Stone next summer I will load some 45 Long Colt for a little more punch....
  25. The pass though down to 20% is wind fall for us that have a S-Corp. Just haven't decided if I going to use the money to upgrade our coach or give my employees the raise in pay the deserve.
