  1. I only have one tray and yes, a second one would be ideal. Let me know when I can schedule, haha.
  2. After talking with Bill at Remco, it looks like I may have an improper install. He said there is no need for an extra leaf spring with their product and that it def should not be giving me the vibration on a start out. As an old dragster, we always had to deal with torque causing wheel hop or axle wrap. Torsion bars and ladders bars were a good fix. That is exactly what this problem reminds me of, wheel hop. Since none of you mentioned having wheel hop with your vehicle it tells me you had it done right. The garage I went to is on Remco's list of installers but they may soon be off of that list. I'll keep you updated. Thanks Guys.
  3. Yes, the shop that did the install had to shop it out to a machine shop. They cut the end off the drive shaft and welded the Remco piece on and balanced it. Thanks for the info.
  4. OK Guys, I got the Remco disconnect installed on the truck. After instalation, I noticed a rubbing noise upon a crisp (or quick) pull out. Took it back and the shop fixed it. Turns out, with a Nissan Frontier it is a solid meet up with the drive shaft to rear but the Remco uses a uni joint so it's not solid anymore. Now when you start out, the torque moves the uni joint upwards and it was causing the rubbing noise. Got the noise problem resolved but I still have a vibration or axle wrap. It's only on a hard pull out. I'm told the fix is an extra leaf spring added under the main leaf. That will resolve the vibe issue but also give me a stiffer ride. The other option is a Roadmaster Active Suspension. Did anybody else have to beef up the rear suspension with this disconnect? I'm going to call tomorrow and talk with them about it. https://activesuspension.com/
  5. Sure, I can do that but I'd need some instruction on the blog thing. Would anybody be interested?
  6. While in Cedar City Utah, we also visited Kolob Canyon and saw the pectrogliphs at Parawan Gap. Great stuff
  7. Just an update. We 86'ed our plans to go to the New England states in the fall. We are getting a few things in order and then about the last week of Sept, we are heading west to SD via St Louis, MO. Was going to head west on 80 but I'm going to avoid the Chicago area. That stretch from Gary IN to Joliet IL is a nightmare on it's best day. So, since Sweetie Pie has never seen the arch, we will drop south, check it out then on to SD for residency. Then it's west to OR, south through CA and back east at Bakersfield to Pahrump, NV. Scheduled to be there Dec 1st till June. After that we will be working our way up through CO and planning on being in Gillette WY for the convention. If you think our paths will cross, send a shoutout and let's meet. Safe journey and as always, stay sharp.

  9. Yes, my drive shaft has to be cut and re-welded. I got a place here in Emlenton that is dealer approved . It will be lathe balanced and will even balance the front shaft. Thanks for the tip.
  10. Haha, sounds like a Chevy Chase movie. Glad no one was hurt
  11. Yeh, I was told no lube as well so I was thinking graphite. I've used it before on my locks and it is dry. I was also told to hose it down about once a month. Looks like the main thing here is to keep it clean. Thanks Guys
  12. Yeh, I do a lot of dirt roads where I'm at and where we will be going. They did say that my towing capacity will not be reduced so that is good. Thanks Carl
  13. Thanks Herman. Looks like a good product. Be nice if it was enclosed. Have you ever had a problem with dirt or a rock getting up in the workings? This goes for you too Bill.
  14. Yep, it's me again with another question. My toad is a 2016 Nissan Frontier but it is an automatic. The truck can be flat towed but only with the rear end disconnected. I've been talking with Remco and looking at their drive shaft disconnect. Just wondering if anybody on here has used them or knows about them. Should I go ahead with the install or run for the hills? Thanks http://www.remcodsc.com//
  15. Yes, that was a concern of mine Herman, power brakes pretty much need the motor running to perform properly. Even though when I questioned Roadmaster about it they assured me it was fully proportional and it would apply the brakes as normal. I see now they were not being very honest with me so Roadmaster has not gained any friends in this camp. I did speak with Monty and will be going with the M&G system. I'm also counting on Roadmaster returning my money for their UNOPENED Brakemaster kit. We'll see how that goes.
  16. I guess I'm just an old geezer when it comes to all this techie stuff but I just found out about VPN (virtual private network) and am interested in the security aspect of it. We all know how unsecure campground wifi is (whenever it works) so I'm interested in this. We never us camp wifi to do any banking or anything but use our Verizon jetpack for that. The VPN is a secure network that prevents cyber attacks and hackers from stealing your stuff. Just wondering if anybody else is using it out there and maybe some pro's and cons if any. Thanks
