  1. Very cool. We were through there last winter but never made it to Quartzsite. We spent a few days in Kingman and spent about a week in Bullhead City. We did go see London Bridge and that was cool. My wife is from London so she walked on the bridge over there and also in LHC. We will be in Pahrump from Dec 1st and then go to the RV show. We'll look for ya. We are going to OOBerfest while we are there too.
  2. Well, Houston is out. From Oklahoma, we will head to Wichita Falls and then off to Lubbock TX. My friend lost his lunch truck, his personal truck and his condo. He has really been hit hard. The whole area is going to need help and will be on the mend so I think unless you really need to be there, we will stay out of the way.
  3. Going to be in NV this winter so we are planning to move around a little bit. It will be our first time going to a big show like this. Just wondering who else will be there.
  4. Already looking at moving around more often. Will be going to the RV show in Quartzsite AZ Jan 17th and then back to Pahrump, NV.
  5. Great idea. We used to have cards back in the CB radio days. They were big cards, like 5x7 and we handed them out at all the coffee breaks. Saves having to find pen and paper when meeting new Folks. This is going on our to do list for sure.
  6. Looks like we will be bypassing Houston
  7. Everytime I hear the name Harvey, I think of Ralph Kramden in the pool hall, haha.
  8. Glad the RGV wasn't hit. We were mainly going to Houston to visit friends and then on to Lubbock. Looks like we will be bypassing Houston and going right to Lubbock from Tulsa. I'm sure we will get to RGV at some point but this winter will be down thru NM, AZ then NV.
  9. I agree. We were going to be in Houston around the first of November but we might take a pass this year and give it more time.
  10. We stayed at Nevada Treasure RV Park in Pahrump. Really liked it but it is an hour west of Vegas.
  11. Saw a couple youtoobers that stayed there and gave it good marks. Was thinking about joining mainly for the free night and farm fresh goods. I'm sure Sweetie Pie will like the winery's too.
  12. We stayed at this very same CG on our way north to ID from NV. I did have problems with the cable and was told the entire campground was due to be "rewired", including the electric. In fact when we were there, they (not CG staff) were walking around testing all the pedastals. I'm guessing it was to give the CG a quote on the cost. I never had a problem with the electric but yes, I always plug my protector in first and if all the lights are good, I then plug the coach into that. We were there in early March on A-3. They were taking out a few big old dead trees too. It snowed on us there but it wasn't bad. My biggest complaint is the dip between the park and the road. Very bad and while there we watched coach after coach drag butt on the way out. Most were going left towards I-15 and that seemed to be the worst way to exit. So, we exited up by the laundromat and went right instead and at an angle. Had a pretty good side to side wobble but didn't drag anything. Looks like whoever they had "rewire" it, didn't do a very good job. Good luck.
  13. We winter in Pahrump, NV. Nevada Treasure RV Park is very nice and they do have a storage area on site. Only an hour west of Vegas. Maybe we'll see you there. Safe journey.
  14. I just saw a thread where the Texas CG owners assoc is opening up the parks to evacuees. Could cause it to be a little crowded down there. Folks headed that way might want to lock in their reservations. What say you Sir?
  15. Very cool. During basic at Dix, a few of us went to Lakehurst for some kind of detail that I'm sure I didn't volunteer for. Got to see the Hindenburg monument and the other zeppelin hangers. I forget what we did there but we had lunch inside those hangers. They were huge.
  16. Very cool. I'm assuming you got one on the big buggy too?
  17. Kind of late getting in here but better late than never. 1) Jim Wicker 2) Army 3) 4 years DEC77 - DEC81 4) Went in as an E-nothing, 20 months later made Corporal and got out as an E-5 squad leader 5) 11B1P Airborne grunt and got the bad back that goes with it. 6) Basic at Dix, AIT at Benning and jump school also. Went to Bragg with the 82nd ABN during the Zaire call out and was there during the hostage situation wondering why we were just sitting there. In spring of '80 got levied for Korea and volunteered for JSA up on the "Zee. After the tree cutting incident, they started pulling guys out of the eighty duece and slapped MP arm bands on us. People don't realize that in '53 a peace treaty was never signed. They only did a cease fire and I'm here to tell ya, that ain't workin' either. We were shooting at them and they were shooting at us but we're not supposed to talk about that. Spring of '81 went back to Bragg and after a bad night jump, screwed my back up. I went in for the full 20 years but after being jerked around because of my injury, I told 'em to shove it and went back to work at US Steel, bad back and all. My thanks goes to all who stepped up to the plate.
  18. We were always told, unless you're walking point, you're rear echelon, haha. Stay sharp.
  19. Bite your tongue, I ain't Navy, haha.
  20. I hope your powder is still dry after your visit from Harvey.
