    Strangely enough....

    Lights on dash DO work....

    Cruise control works.

it's just none of the gauges are reading.... no MPH, no RPM, etc.

Eric. Think it might be a data link cable connection.

All the mentioned items that are not working are connected to the network.

They items are displaying information that is supplied from the engine ECM and the TCM.

    Rich.

  2. Roland, Reading up on your model year coach and there are others with the same issue. For the most part a ground connection has been the culprit.

You might give a call to Freightliner Service in Gaffney S.C. and explain what you have going on. You might ask them for a PDF copy of the chassis electrical wiring.  Yes it will look like spaghetti to you, but to the service techs it sure helps.

    103 Campus Drive

1 855 253 0421- Option #1 for service and Option #2 for parts. You will need the last 6 letters / number combination  of the Vin.

So if all the fuses check out, it sure could be a ground connection.  Has the dash lights ever come and gone before?

What idiot lights are you referring to ? Like check engine , pre heat ?

    Rich.

From the drawing I have on file. There are 2 connectors going to the cluster. One has 12 pins and the other has 15 pins.  The one with the 15 pins has the ground wires.

Pins #2 and #4 have black wires and pin # 5 has a red wire, this is the 12 volt supply for the instrument panel.

The the 2 Black wires share a common point with 2 other black wires. That share a common connection point> that being the case, there could be a common wire nut - connecting all 4 of them all together under the dash.

  3. Thanks for the updated information.

Roland, I think it is time for a reset on my thoughts!

One thing I did look at is the Gauges connect to the instrument cluster harness. The cluster has a 10 amp fuse that looks like the power source. That fuse is marked number 15 on the drawings I have on file. So you might see if you find a bad 10 amp fuse and I will keep looking at other possible trouble points.

When you refer to the Gauges are you referring to the Batter and Oil pressure?

The other issue might be a ground connection.

Do you have a way to attach a picture of the fuse box nuder the dash?

    Rich.

Rich, thanks for the help. Does this fuse/relay pull out like other fuses? How will it show good/bad? I’m not an electrical genius  😀. I will try tomorrow.

    thanks again.   Roland

When you locate it - it will pull out.

Does the engine start?  If the fuse has failed  the wire loop will be open.            If you have a meter to check resistance - the air buzzer could be shorted.

    Keep in the loop.

    Rich.

  5. Roland,The first fuse to check is number 11. think it is on the left side of the box and the marker light relay an ignition relay 30 amp size. Is it good or bad Feeds the dash lights and one wire goes directly to the low air buzzer.

You did mention no buzzer from low air.

    Rich.

  6. When one is on the road and engine or other issues come up it is difficult to find a road service truck to even do the simpler items like filters, coolant and air lines.

Most towing services will require  road service from your location to take a quick check of the condition of filters and electrical problems before the will dispatch a tow truck. The good part is they often find something and you are on your way or what needs to be fixed, before the big tow truck arrives. The service tech. often know who and where the work could be done.

Put together some info. that might help owners find road service for engines and other issues.

I did enter information that located help in my home area where I call home and some of the road service trucks I have  used came up.

The links provided are for reference only. A particular business might not be able to offer assistance, but could offer information that leads to some help.

Not from the area post your location on the forum and ask once you have hopefully found help.

Not applicable bm02tj. The TPMS displayed within 5 psi the same tire pressure as the other 3 dual tires. The diesel exhaust is on the starboard side of the MH. As I said, it just happened as I pulled into the CG, not enough time to smoke the brake shoes, the inner dual tire did not feel hotter than the outer tire.

What do you know about the ERS coverage?

Not likely covered, road service covers. lockouts, fuel delivery, jump start(battery?), tire air up and tire replacement(Tire ?) .

I have seen them working on the area of the brakes of heavy duty trucks.

Think it would be worth a call and see if the service you have will release the brake in question. having the parts on the service truck questionable.

  8. Welcome to the FMCA Forum !

Not really  up to speed on this coach, but did find this link. it offers some contact information.    A reprint by Family Motor Coaching  April 1994

    http://www.hittheroadrv.com/images/Ebay 2414 Vogue Prima Vista/Vouge.pdf

By any chance do you know who's chassis was used to build the coach on? The air system plumbing was in stalled by the chassis builder.

Chassis serial numbers often hep locating parts.

    Rich.

  9. This case involved a tight turn when pulling out off the pad. Everything  went well until the trailer got in line with the truck . The pull angle and lack of grease, apparently offered enough resistance for the Fiver to fallow the truck.

No way to move strati forward with the jacks down.

    Rich.

  10. Just had my first encounter with a neighbor who did not get the trailer Pin locked into the bed hitch.

The hitch was not lubricated well enough. When the driver moved forward, the trailed dropped down onto the truck bed and damaged the tail gate; big time.

Think this is a must do item to have on the to do list.

Thanks for all the good information.  I have soaked the gate shaft and connections with penetrating oil and will have a go at moving it tomorrow.  If I should need a new turbo (HX40                      w) can I install it as it is delivered or is there special adjustment needed?

Kind of depends on who you get it from. Cummins is generally preset from others it is not preset as they do not always know the engine serial number and the matching set up distance of travel per the engine application.

    Rich.

  12. Set up and test requires a air supply connected to the input with a pressure regulator one can very from 0 psi to the max air(turbo) pressure that Cummings specifies. up to 30 psi is the range  I would use unless.  Engine can very some in regards to high boost point.

As a side note ! the module should include a new length of silicon pressure line and clamps. Might want to as though it is not a standard auto parts store item.

Brett  do you know where  this info should be included?

    Rich.
