  1. Desertdeals69- It just started. We had a nice flow rate before. Pressure now is very low. Brett- What is an accumlator? And where does it go?
  2. Our 40 ft Damon Tuscany has Yokohama tires on the front and Goodyear on the back both size 275 /70 R22.5. These tires were on the motorhome when we bought it. The back tires will be 7 years old this summer and we intend to replace them with Michelin tires through FMCA's program. The front tires are only 3 years old. Should we replace them as well and have the same brand all around? Also the Goodyear tires are load range H. The Michelin tires in the same size show load range J. Why the difference?
  3. We were told by our Insurance Agent at home that many of the low cost RV Insurance Policies do not protect at high enough levels for our million $ umbrella policy to cover us. You must insure a at a high enough level for this type of supplemental policy to cover you.
  4. Update for anyone towing a keyless Lincoln. We have had no more problems. After charging up the dead battery and putting the car in park when not towing, everything works great. We have towed a few thousand miles with no more problems. Our one problem was operator error.
  5. Our pump pulses when using either sink or the shower. Water pressure goes up and down. Works fine when flushing the toilet ( runs all the while, no pulsing). There is a filter under the kitchen sink. Think it could be plugged? Suggestions.
  6. Ramblinboy, Our auto roll-up did not work. Had a new sensor put on top and it worked so-so. Went to the dealer and had them copy the pages in their manual on wind speed adjustment. (This was not in my owners manual, only the dealers service manual) Adjusted the wind speed to a lower wind speed and it works great. Very easy to do. You just reset the toggle switches to a different setting in the control box. Took longer to take out the 4 screws and take the cover off than to change the adjustment.
  7. We bought the 5510 Rand Mc Nally when they first came out. It has taken us on a back road once and we also plan with our Atlas. For the most part we love it and would buy it again. They are a lot cheaper now and come with lifetime maps. I will be updating ours with new maps before our next trip.
  8. The following reply was recieved from LCI: If there was a line replaced on your system, chances are that you do have an “air bubble” in your system. This usually will make a “squishy” or “shaking” feeling when moving throughout the coach. The best way to purge air from your system without removing lines would be: Park on a nice level surface. Extend the legs fully, staying on the switch for an extra 5-6 seconds after full extension. Check the reservoir for foaming, if there is foaming, let disapate. Do the same process except while retracting. ******MONITOR PUMP MOTOR TEPERATURE***** This is critical. Do this periodically. We are going to repeat these processes until the system no longer shows any foaming in the reservoir. Thanks. Mike Bloss Lippert Components, Inc. Customer Service I haven't tried this yet. Will post again after I do.
  9. I talked to a guy in our park yesterday that referred to our problem as the RV wiggle. That maybe a better description than a shake. He had full timed for 14 years and said our "wiggle" is normal. Do you responders agree?
  10. Do these lines need to be bled or will the air work its way out on its own? The leak was way in the back and the tank is up front.
  11. We did have a leak in a line repaired a while back. Do you think I could still have air in a line?
  12. I reset the zero point last week. Even with manual leveling we can feel the unit move when we move around. How can I tell if we are off suspension. I am dumping air before we level.
  13. We are leveled on a cement pad under the back jacks and on on 8 X 6 blocks 18 inches long (on the ground) front jacks. The area is very level. When either of us walk around the motorhome, it shakes. Is this normal. We have the LCI Leveling System in a 40-foot Damon Tuscany. Still learning this stuff. Seems like if I re-level every 2 weeks or so it is better for a little while.
  14. We are looking at a Caravan Tour for Fall Colors in the Northeast and Southeast Canada. 33 days. Kinda of spendy. $6200 for 2. Have any of you done tours like that? Advice?
  15. Update on loose wire. We have been using the fridge for over a month now. Works fine on #3. Before it needed to be on 8 or 9 and was all over the place. Now temps in the fridge stay between 36 and 42 degrees. Freezer also working well. Check those wires if you are having strange problems.
  16. 300 miles today with no problem. I think once we got charged up all the way we were fine. Just need to remember to put it in park when we stop for the night. We ran it all the way down leaving it in netrual while parked overnight.
  17. It is fused on the car side. Fuse is OK. Never thought of one on the motorhome side. I check for one tomorrow.
  18. I am confused, what does the braking system leave on? I thought the battery drain was from the keyless ignition. This can't be turned off on the Lincoln. That is why I ran a charge wire to the battery.
  19. Thanks Herman. We do have the Air Force One Braking system. The one you have (Is it M and G?) would not fit on our car (not enough room). AF1 seems to work well. I had Leach Camper in Council Bluffs, Iowa install the air force one and at the same time put on the charging wire. It is a small wire. It comes off the wiring harness for the lights. I'll check for a blown fuse on the charging line.
  20. We bought a new Lincoln MKS this year to tow. We put a hot wire from the motorhome to the car battery to charge while towing. Works OK on short trips. Not so well on all day drives. I forgot to put it in park after the first day and of course it was dead in the morning. Had it jumped and ran it for a brief time before setting out that next day. Dead again that night. Jumped again and ran it for two hours. Started right up the next morning before towing. Started it again when we stopped for lunch at noon. Then put on another 300 miles and it was dead we we arrived at night. Ideas?
  21. Thats what I did. If I read the charts right. Does 110 on the front and 100 on the back sound right?
  22. Our 40 foot Damon Tuscany has 275/70R/22.5 tires. The front tires are Yokohoma and the rear (duals) are Goodyear. All are load range H. I weighed today after packing. 30700 lbs gross. Tuscany specs say 31000 top. Pulling a car the top is 41000. Our car weighs about 5200 so we should be OK on total. Front axle weight- 11180 total Drivers side - 5390 Passenger side 5630 Yokohama tires Rear axle weight 19449 total Drivers side - 8300 Passenger side 10620 Goodyear tires. This was my second weighing after shifting some of the load. Short of taking our clothes out of the closet and drawers and moving them over, I don't think I can even out the load more. We are heavy on the side with the fridge and kitchen cabinets. Looking at each tire chart I read 100 PSI for the back axle and 105-110 PSI for the front. Does this sound right to you more experienced RV people?

    Block Heater

Found it near motor in bedroom area. I thought that switch was for a washer/dryer. (We don't have a washer dryer although it is plumbed for one.) Thanks for the help.

    Block Heater

Have a 2007 Damon Tuscany with a C7 Cat. I can see a block heater on the engine but can't follow the cord to the plug. Anyone with a Tuscany that can help? Is there a switch or a plug hanging somewhere?
  25. Maybe have a solution. The dealer found a loose wire going to one of the heating elements. He says there are 2 elements when on electric. (News to me) It seems one of the elements was only working part of the time do to the loose wire. When we would drive it, it would wiggle around and no telling what would happen next. After tightening the wire, the unit is cooling for them. Zero degrees in the freezer and 27 in the fridge on #5. We could never get below 7 or the freezer would be to warm. We will try it soon. Seems when they replaced the mother board one wire did not get put back correctly. Anyone else get another Norcold recall? We got one that seems to replace a previous recall. Looks like we will have to wait longer to go to an Amish unit.
