  1. I have a Sprint MiFi and the problem is the coverage areas. I only park in cities and in nearly all cases I have only gotten 3G service. Even LTE usually only shows 1 or 2 bars which won't give me service and won't kick back to 3G unless I do it manually. It is truly unlimited which is nice but I generally have to switch to my AT&T Mobley to get on line. If you don't travel too much, just be sure the area you plan to go has the coverage you need. I don't use an external antenna so that may be part of the problem as well, but it's never been a problem when using the Mobley.
  2. Has there always been an unlimited Sprint plan available to FMCA members that I (and others) was not aware of? A Sprint Unlimited plan (truly unlimited) would be so much better than this very limited unlimited 25GB Verizon plan with no contract that I can't see why this plan has not been heavily pushed in the past.
  3. Sounds about right to me! And just think, you get to pay WAY too much for this lack of service!
  4. The good news about the issues with the new FMCA/Verizon plan is that it has ended the discussion about the ongoing vote to allow towables!
  5. While "technically" an unlimited plan, this is a HIGHLY limited plan. As mentioned above, you don't get 256GB but rather onl 25GB per month before you are HARD THROTTLED to somewhere between dial up and 2G service (pretty much unusable at this point).
  6. I believe new sign ups are still available. It's certainly still listed as an available plan on the AT&T website. Finding a Mobley these days is pretty tough, however.
  7. AT&T Mobley is unlimited with 22GB before Network Optimization (not hard throttle) for $20/month. Now that's a good deal and you don't have to be a member of anything or sign a 2 year contract. I am currently at 40GB for the month and still seeing about 10-15Mb up and 25Mb down.
  8. Yes. I have to do mine manually, but if yours does it automatically, you can still adjust it manually as you see fit. If my tranny shifted down to 2nd gear when my Jake kicked in my tranny would be torn out of the chassis at 55 MPH.
  9. That has happened to me twice and it was the start solenoid. Plenty of battery power, just dead silence when you turn the key. Hopefully, you can find it as you can jump the solenoid and it will start until you can get a replacement. Now, where did they put that thing!?
  10. The film will not work. All is does is keep the paint chips from leaving the location that they were created but eventually you will have to remove the film and when you do, all of that chipped paint will come with it. You will be much better off installing a barrier between the road and your car like the fabric devices that span the space between your RV and your car or a bra of some kind that will cover the entire front of your towed. If you go that route, just be sure to remove, clean and reinstall the bra on a regular basis as the grit between the bra and the car will do substantial damage on its own.
  11. Be aware that Winegard "could" void the warrant on any of their Trav'lers where the control cable has been modified.
  12. Wow! I hope they are the same! Now sure how you ended up with a disconnected plug but glad you are going to be able to put it back together.
  13. Assuming you are looking at the plug from behind and the side with the clip is the bottom, the wiring order is: Black Brown Red Orange Yellow green Don't flip the plug over to figure the bottom wires. Black wire is above Orange wire, etc.
  14. This appears to be the info you need. Plan ID 11454 number. Give them a call with that number and they should get a hit.
  15. I don't see any similar plan when I go to My Verizon. I have a 4GB plans for $50/month (shared by 2 phones). To move to either of the unlimited plans would raise my monthly to at least $130 (there is also a $160 plan). An extra $20 would only get me up to 8GB (L plan.....i.e. Large) and you need a U plan for Unlimited (limited to 22GB before network optimization). Oh yeah, it's also limited to 15GB if you use a MiFi device or your phone as a hotspot.
  16. My Sprint Mifi is both but it's a business plan so you need some kind of proof of business to qualify. Unthrottled, fully unlimited for about $46/month. The biggest problem is the Sprint coverage.
  17. Yes, throttle. This is what is described as a Hard Throttle. After 25GB your speeds will be somewhere between dial up and 2G. This actually equals no usable speed so it should be considered a 25GB plan.
  18. Thanks for the kind comments. It was an awesome week. As to the photo, that photo opportunity happens everyday for every visitor. It's truly an amazing event. I wish I could post a bunch but here are a couple more. In the first photo the "rodeo" has started and all those balloons you see behind the hill in the background are waiting to launch in hopes of grabbing amazing prizes as they pass over the field (including a new car). The 2nd is one of the hundreds of special shapes balloons. The owners travel from around the World to be at this event and there are new shapes every year. The last is how close you are to the action in your RV.
  19. Yes, that's correct. You membership must be extended so that you would still be a member at the end of the Verizon contract. This prevents folks from joining for a shorter period of time and ending their membership but still getting full advantage of the Verizon deal. I'm in the same boat. I have an Aug membership so I would need to sign up for 2 additional years to take advantage of the program.
  20. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience then you need to call TODAY and try to get booked into the Presidential Campground. This is simply the bees knees and you will see everything with almost no effort. When you want to go down to the field (you are up on a cliff above it all) it's a short and easy walk (or golf cart ride if you rent one for your stay). The next best is being on site but dry camping (with or without a golf cart). The 3rd best option is the campground across the street which is nearly still on site but also dry camping. For dry camping the next best option is Sandia Casino where you are welcome and they even put out trash dumpsters for the dry campers to use. You are farther away so you need to be able to drive in for some events or be happy just watching the amazing balloon accessions from a distance. If you need full hook ups at an actual campground then you are going to be away from it all. Plenty of parking is available nearby the parade field but the traffic is TERRIBLE trying to get in and out. There are events spread throughout the day but you will not be entertained all day long so it's a come and go kind of thing. I like the first 4 options (my last 3 visits were at Sandia casino) . For me (me alone), if this is a 1 time deal, call NOW and book the Presidential campground. I booked my reservation the day after the event ended for the following year. It's not quite as critical if you just want to be on the grounds but you should call soon to ensure a site and the early birds get the better sites. You are planning far enough ahead so you have many options. I was never so happy as when I had my Mother join me and my wife there for the big show. I don't think I have ever seen her smile so much and about so many different things. It was a special memory that will never be forgotten.
  21. To a question elsewhere on this fourm, YES, I do believe the average age of an FMCA member is 71!
