  1. I drive a lot of miles each year so I replace mine every 2 years.
  2. Maybe I could look up the information on line but there's not a chance I would be saving 10 years worth of of any kind of magazine! Glad it works for you. Heck, when I did renew my membership last year they never even sent a single magazine. Not sure what the membership benefits includes these days but I don't see where I received even 1.
  3. That's one of my most favorite things that the wife makes from scratch and bakes in our Convection oven. If you like them in a home oven you will love them in a convection oven. Be careful, the timing is different (shorter/faster) with convection heat. From my experience, however, the temp settings are not very accurate and be off by 25-50 degrees from what is set.
  4. If we are talking about age, I was 39 when I joined FMCA back in '94. We were VERY part time with an entry level DP. We only upgraded once and that was to our current coach which we purchased in '99. Only one reason to be here and that "was" information about Motor homes for Motor Home owners. Age does not need to be a factor but if you look at the majority of FMCA RV reviews (at least a huge number) you will find that most RVers could never afford the RVs reviewed. What say you focus more on the Motor home for the average Joe and not the RV for the rich!
  5. You can do most whatever you want with Google Maps. Planning works better on a computer than on the phone but it's still great. It won't do calculate 5-6 hours of driving but you can put in stopping points and it will show the time and distance. If that is too long or too short remove that and select another stopover in an area you would like to stay. I plan most of my trips this way but I also revert back to a mapping program last update in 2002 from Rand McNally which does to everything you want. It really to **** bad that Rand won't re-release this software called TripMaker it is the best planning tool I have ever used to travel. You can set how fast you drive, when the trip starts and ends, time you leave and time you plan to stop and it keeps a record of the entire trip. In my case, my trip starts in Jan and ends in December so I have our entire travels for the entire year on one map.
  6. Thanks! As a member since 1994 I have never heard of this.
  7. OK, thanks. Let's stick with the idea that it was simply a clerical error. I'm OK with that as it's really not important any longer considering the bigger issue of destroying the FMCA concept by turning into another Good Sam.
  8. Yes, you can use only the convection side. No microwaves. This will be using settings like Bake, Roast or similar but you don't want to use anything that says mix or combo. The wife does nothing with microwave and uses the convection side almost daily.
  9. I don't believe that is correct. There are "unlimited" Government contracts available from Verizon. Not sure how FMCA would qualify for one of these. If you know the details of how they could have such a contract and believe they could resell it to others, please give us the details.
  10. What is a Round Bottom Road CG and what does that have to do with FMCA?
  11. This is the first I have heard of FMCA having a Government contract with Verizon so I suspect some clarity in the very beginning would have helped with the speculation. Not sure how anyone could have known that FMCA had a Government contract considering they are in no way related to the Government. Thank you for the clarification.
  12. You can use me as a scape goat but I never said anything about reselling a governmnet contract. You say "no one at Verizon caught this until it was already being offered". Verizon did not catch what? You have offered NO explanation so it's not even the beginning of the story, much less the end. I am sure there was a lucid thought in there when you typed this but I am not sure what you are trying to say.
  13. Welcome to that already over crowded arena! Good luck if you are hoping to do this to earn some money.
  14. Just in case you are interested, a trip to Roswell, NM will be the least interesting thing you have done in a very long time!
  15. Have you been in this coach? I can't figure out how this layout makes any sense at all but I am not you! Floor plans are very specific to the owner and I always advice to buy a coach based upon the floor plan. You just need to get in the coach and ramble around. Try to imagine daily life and how and when and where you would be doing your daily routine. For me (me alone) this is not a practical floor plan. If it works for you after spending some time in the coach then that's great. However, if you have never actually been in the coach you might want to consider what other options are available.
  16. You will not be at the Fiesta all day. There are events very early and a couple throughout the day but it's not really an event where you will go and stay all day. Just before the sun comes up you will want to catch Dawn Patrol and then there will be a mass ascension and then not much else as all the balloons are in the air. Later in the day there might be rodeo or other event and their are individual balloons giving rides throughout the day but no actual event. At night there are balloon glows and fireworks. You will have plenty of time to come and go and attend to your pets needs throughout the day.
  17. Next time tell them you have a Prevost or a Country Coach or whatever, just leave out the bus part. Having said that, unless I really, really needed to stay there I would laugh in their face and send them a picture later that day telling them you were happy not to be staying there. The park is likely not good enough for a coach like mine to stay there! I don't like dealing with idiots and I have a very low tolerance for intolerance. Even if you had a school bus conversion, most RV parks have RV's in there that are WAY worse looking than a well done school bus conversion. I have a Prevost as well and it's a 1988 so I have my own issues with folks asking what year it is but I only use the words Prevost and Country Coach. Never had a problem on that side but my coach keeps getting newer as each year passes. Currently I am driving a "2007" Prevost! Next year I will be driving a 2008.
  18. Right, my membership has expired. I am not going to renew until this vote is finalize. I don't get any benefit from FMCA at this point anyway (no road service, no magazine, no campground discounts, etc.) so I see no rush to renew but I can if I choose to do so.
  19. That's a great thought. Very accurate and the very reason I will not renew if this vote passes. Some will like that A LOT as I will also be gone from this forum as well.
  20. Check with Remco as most any van could have a driveshaft disconnected added and make it towable. I towed a full sized Chevy Extended van for many, many years without issue. OK, one issue but it's not important to this discussion!
  21. I have had the GS Road Service for several years. I have had my Prevost towed twice and my car towed once due to a belt coming off the engine. I have never had an issue, I have been taken directly to a service center that could handle the repairs and I have never paid a dime.
  22. I used TCi Tire center in Pasadena, TX. The participate in the FMCA Michelin tire program and were ready to work on my coach when I arrived. The did not do any kind of tire balance, however, but I have Centramatics on the front so it might not have been necessary.
  23. Call your CC company and dispute the charge. A hurricane coming is a valid reason to cancel a reservation and "you were not aware of their cancellation policy". Since you don't have anything from them in writing you will get your money back.
  24. If you can walk on the roof to install the panels, there's enough structure under there to caulk and screw into.
