  1. I can't tell if folks are agreeing or disagreeing with me, but a 5% rebate on $2.50 gas/diesel is better than a 5 cent discount. Hopefully, everyone agrees with that.
  2. I travel full time and my tires are never covered. Are you saying I have to replace my tires ever 3-4 years because they are always exposed to the sun?
  3. Of course the measure will pass. The fix has been in from the beginning. Only a VERY tiny number of FMCA members are on this forum, most will ignore the ballot in the magazine (I wish I at least received a magazine for all my years of membership!), many will say Yes because that's what they heard they should do and a few will do the right thing and vote no. In the end, this will very quickly become Good Sam II.
  4. Not as good as using my CC which offers a 5% rebate of fuel purchases and does not debit my checking account. Even a CC with 3% rebate gives you over 6 cents. I don't like debit cards as you don't have the protection of your money like you do with a CC.
  5. Not sure what you are looking for here Tireman. Many States collect fares based upon your license information and in every case I have had to pay a penalty for taking that route. Have you come upon a route like this where you did not have to pay more because you were from out-of-State? I like seeing a toll booth as I know I will only have to pay the going fee but when I travel a road labled "EZ-Pass only" or similar I know I wil get screwed and sometime screwed by 3-4 times the fare as I did not submit payment on time as I don't get my mail forwarded that often and I have gotten 2nd notices without ever having received the 1st notice.
  6. Don't you think that FMCA has always had the welcome mat out to fellow Motor Home owners?
  7. Google gets more and more WAZE info inputs everyday. (Google owns WAZE). I often see similar traffic info now in Google Maps so that's my primary routing software with WAZE as my "gotta get out of this mess" 2nd opinion.
  8. A stand alone GPS can do the same things. This is the reason I mentioned you need to use a bit of common sense. Anyone who fully depends upon a GPS to get them from here to there is, eventually, going to wish they had planned ahead!
  9. You have to use a bit of common sense when using WAZE in your RV. If you do run into traffic it will route you through neighborhoods to get you around and save you time. Take a close look at the detour and look at just how bad the traffic delay is (it shows you how long you will be stuck in traffic) and see if the planned route makes sense. Google maps will detour you to lesser roads but not through neighborhoods so I check both if I hit a bad traffic jam. I still prefer Google Maps as my main GPS and it uses less data if that's a concern but neither unit uses much data. I measured the data on a 250 mile drive and it was only about 8 Mb with Google and 15Mb with WAZE. Considering how few days you use a GPS in your RV, this data is completely insignificant.
  10. Never said it was for everyone! Everyone has their own wants, needs and desires.
  11. Many lendors consider 10 years to be the limit but that does not mean everyone or in every situation. I bought an 88 Prevost in 99 without issue but that was before the banks collapsed. You might want to talk to a banker you have a good relationship with or other bankers telling them you want to buy a 2007 Country Coach to see what they say.
  12. Yeah, I am a bit skeptical as when you try to leave the site you get a pop up trying to get you to sign up for the Dish service. There is an obvious bias in the reporting when there plan is to try to get you to buy something after reading the review. I have seen many offers at different times offering both Dish and DirecTV with 2 year guarantees and the offers vary almost daily depending upon where you sign up and who you ask. Additionally, if you are an AT&T customer then all bets are off the table as DirecTV is a much better deal with savings of at least $25/month over their current pricing.
  13. I use the chat option with DirecTV and they change my locals when I plan to stay somewhere for an extended period of time. I just did this when I spent a couple of months in FL but I am now in MI and heading for NJ so during the travels and while here I am watching Networks using DNS.
  14. One post here and one on another topic and the OP is GONE!
  15. QZ dust is different and more intrusive. More like fine silt. Dust is pretty rare here in MI with so much asphalt, grass and water. Very little of any of those things in that dump.
  16. Ooohhhh, forgot about the dust!! Not sure what's so special about QZ but the dust is terrible (when it's not raining). Even if you never open a window you will find every horizontal surface needs dusting every day. Imagine how much gets into those places you can't reach!
  17. It's just a matter of considering your needs. Sports, movies and those few channels will eat up a lot of data. The Mobley is a good start "IF" you have good AT&T service available and it's good for 22GB at full speed but "may be" slowed down when you exceed that number. 1 movie can eat up 1-2GB and a 4 hour football game could take 5-6GB unless you plan to watch in a low resolution format. OTA TV is very good, again, assuming you are in an area where you can receive OTA programming. We just moved from FL to MI and at 1 campsite along the way we received 2 OTA channels. 1 PBS type and 1 Network. Done! We watched the 5 o'clock news on the 1 Network channel and everything else was via satellite.
  18. They don't have that many RVs there specifically for the RV show but there can be a large volume of RV's that camp in the desert on BLM land for cheap for short and extended periods of time. You REALLY need to love dry camping.
  19. How much will you be paying for all the data you would eat up streaming? That's the real question. What would it cost for the data vs. the cost for satellite TV. Many, many, many folks are completely OK with OTA TV only. That's not me but many others. If you only watch OTA TV (assuming OTA TV is available) then drop satellite TV. If you like cable channels that are not available via OTA how many, how often and how long? You will likely have to keep the picture quality way down so you don't go broke but that's OK for many as well.
  20. Likely balancing beads but not sure they are glass. Equal is the most common brand. Not a bad thing and praised by many. Scorned by some. Unless they are the large beads they should also have installed special valves to prevent the beads/powder from clogging the inflation valves. Not sure about 1 piece valve stems, but there are many extensions available that work without issue. Just don't just the long straight extension without some kind of support. That's what was on mine when it broke and flatten my tire while traveling through Canada. Lesson learned.
  21. Is FMCA still doing QZ booths? They used to give out left over copies of previous months magazines which I thought was brilliant! Not sure who manned the booths but none of them were sales people. Just folks handing out material.
  22. Satellites orbit in space. What is it that you are wanting? Are you looking for a recommendation between DirecTV or Dish Network or are you looking for a recommendation on the type of antenna you would use to receive the satellite signal. If it's the latter, which satellite TV service do you have now?
  23. Many of the QZ dealers are in Yuma before and after Q. There is a large Arizona Market Place where it's pretty much a swap meet or flea market atmosphere but there are all things RV there as well. The are open the entire Snowbird season.
