  1. i thought Ihad posted this yesterday but the computer minions didn't do it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Regarding crabs) Oh my, those look good. My mind is spinning with all the things I could do with them. Do you have an insulated box and some dry ice? This is our 4th year in Shipshewana Campgroound - South Park and we already have reservations for next year. Five years total in the area. Every time we go for a ride DW says, "I sure like it here!" There are a lot of soft pretzel places but Yoder's Red Barn has by far the best soft pretzel we have ever had, and the Rise 'N Roll bakery the best filled donuts, I call both of them a "crack house," Both places are keeping me in shape - round!
  2. Ws:ell, having something to post about would help me, How's this: Presently in Shipshewana, IN. We are "Sunbirds.
  3. Sometimes the pedestal will look like it is on but it is tripped. If you pull up on it to put it in the on position it should not move if it is on. If it is sponge, push it down then back up. If it is inside the RV, good luck tracing it.
  4. We are in Shipshewana, IN and right now it is a heat spell of 77˚. Come Tuesday morning it will be down around 55˚.
  5. Yep! Check the box get the sticker for he windshield in the mail. Good to go. Without the registration sticker you would be illegal. Don't know what ramifications that could have.
  6. Register on-line. Give a mailing address and check the box "out of state." Registratration will be sent and as soon as you enter the state you are supposed to get it inspected. Well, that's the way it worked for me.
  7. We stayed in Columbia Falls at the Columbia Falls RV Park. It is about 20 miles to the West entrance.
  8. We stayed at CL July 6-9. Yes, a very nice campground. When we called to make reservations they said they had a back-in site. We needed to visit friends so we accepted. Then they said that the price would be $300+ for the 3 nights. When I asked why the price was so high for just 3 days it was because it was he 4th of July week. When we arrived I asked if they had a pull through cancellation. The gave me a pull through with no additional cost. The campground was about 25% full with many many open spaces for our entire 3 day stay. I think greed got the better of the corporation for charging as much as they did trying to make up for empty sites. Would I go back there, yes, but definitely not during a holiday weekend or week.
  9. Thanks. Our previous toad was an MKX. Battery would run down occasionally when in hilly country, but other than that it towed very well. Looking forward to what ford has to say.
  10. I use Google Maps as a preliminary starting place. Type in Sevierville, TN in the search area then click on that map. After the map opens it will display Sevierville, TN in the upper left hand area. Highlight it and delete it then type in RV Parks. The map will populate with the RV parks in the area. You will also get some junk places not related to RV'ing but it is still a start. If you point to one of the places it will pop up a screen and you can further look into it. If one of the RV Parks seems to suit your needs go to Campround Reviews and read some of he reviews. The GPS is just to get you there and as stated don't trust it to be 100% in your favor. I use "truckrouter.com and alsot by using that I can look at truck stops along the way. I figure if the big trucks can use the route, I can also. You can also use Google Maps the same way for truck strops as for RV Parks but the route may not be for big rigs. Happy trails
  11. Wow, I have the sister 2020 Lincoln Nautilus and will be following this thread.
  12. I had a basement air in my 2008. Ran it for 9 years without a problem. Good system in my opinion, and quiet.
  13. That is more than we would like to travel for a day trip, but sound interesting, thanks.
  14. Been to the RV Hall of Fame, at least twice. Also the Studebaker Museum, and a couple of others. Loved Notre Dame Cathedral. Spending a month or more in the area gives us a lot of time to see things, and the country side.
  15. We leave July 5th and will return sometime in October. We are headed to Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, IN, Jul 19th-Sep 19th. Just check their weather for today and it is 82% humidity, but the temperature is 69˚. Yep, should have left in May.
  16. Erniee, that's about 40 miles north of the latitude of Mineral Wells so you should be about 0.5 degrees cooler. Congratulations! I guess you can call this retirement.

    RV Hos ?

Agree that Garmin has a great product. I have a built in one on the MH with Rand McNally and it allows all the specifications of the RV to be set. Garmin may not be inexpensive for the better ones, but if you get the one with life time updates it is not such a bad price if you use it for several years. Which ever you decide get a large display. You won't be sorry. You do want one that is designed for RV's with life time updates and traffic. It would help with future questions on you RV if you include your information in your signature line. Welcome. Happy trails!
  18. Be darn sure to check the outlet after the install. Read this for an understanding of RV voltages RV Electric
  19. Log into FMCA: MemberShipDirectory
  20. I'm not in Cincinnati but I strongly suggest you get an electrician that knows how to wire a 50amp service for an RV. It is NOT a washer/dryer hook up of 240 volts. Although you can get 240v you don't want 240 on a single leg. Each leg will have 120v, normaly the red and black wire. White is Neutral (to ground) and Green is Ground. There are a lot of articles on-line. I had mine done by an licensed electrician and then checked his work at the pedestal(box on outside of garage). You also want a good gauge wire like 8awg or even 4awg. I have 8 here and it runs fine. Your breaker should be appropriate to run two single 120v lines.
  21. TruckRouter.com has, 98, 160, 59, 191, and 7 for a little bit as you have it. If the Trucks can run that route I'm thinking a good sized motorhome could also run it. Truckrouter.com is a good way to check.
  22. I'm not sure about your particular make and model so check with the manufacturer. With that said, try keeping the step switch in the "OFF" position. The step motor is controlled by an electronic current limiter. When the step opens or closes, as it gets to the end, the current rises and stops the motor (not sure if rises or diminishes, but...) and even if the motor is stopped there is a constant current drain on the service battery that controls the steps. So try keeping the step switch in the off position. In my previous MH I had to use a stick to reach into the screen opening and push the switch. Also check with the Mfg regarding the disconnect switches for the house and service batteries. If the disconnect switch(s) are turned of there is no path for the converter to charge the batteries. Again, please check with the Mfg regarding if what I said applies to your MH. Happy trails.
  23. Need to know what slide out you have and what the controller is
  24. I use truckrouter.com. Doesn't give RV parks but I use other means for that, like Google Maps. (Ask me how if interested) Truckrouter does give truck stops. If the route is good enough for a truck I know I can traverse it with my 43 footer towing.
