We say the same thing in Michigan, it goes from bad to worse in the winter!
-
70 degrees and sunny here in Rockport Tx, a beautiful day! -9 back home in Michigan. There is something to this winter Texan thing.
-
Carl, do you mean 495 Chesapeake
-
Seems that the area is well on the way to rebuilding. We plan to go there again.
-
Ate at Charlotte Plummer’s tonight, good shrimps and scallops. View of oyster boats from restaurant
-
Will do Wayne. Bill, I looked around Pharr but all of the parks seemed to have higher cost.
-
No, just looking at the area and location. Fair price and amenities and I seem to remember in someone’s previous post that it was recommended.
-
Carl, called this morning and no problem in getting spot at Mission Bell in Mission Tx. Hope to play a lot of golf and go shooting.
-
Thanks all for the help!

We have not made any reservations for RGV yet, considering Brownsville for 1-2 weeks and then heading west towards McAllen.
-
We are at Majestic Oak RV Park, seems good so far. How about the Texas Aquarium? Is it worth the drive to Brownsville? We will be here for 2 weeks and then to RGV.
-
We are in Rockport Corpus Christi now and would like suggestions of where to eat and what to see. We will be in the area for 2 weeks.
-
Carl, the pond across the road going to Gulf is it salt water? Pictures taken from deck of restrooms/laundry, everything is elevated here.
-
Joe, here is a few pictures of Stella Mare.

I sorted out the leak! We had new flooring put in 2 years ago and under the bedroom dresser they replaced the carpet. They used staples to fasten it to the plywood underlayment and one of the staples hit a water line and finally with all the bumping of driving it caused a hole that leaked. Did a line replacement and new plywood, just laid the carpet back and will figure attachment when we get home. We ate at the saltwater Grill tonight, very good. We will probably try Gaido’s before we go. We will be Corpus Christi for a week and then RGV for a month. Then Big Bend and Alpine then wind back thru Hill Country and and start home.

No, we were lucky and didn’t have much travel problem. Galveston seem like a good place, tomorrow we will investigate more.

We are at Stella Mare CG in Galveston, anyone coming this way I would highly recommend this CG. Large concrete pads at every site to park on and good space between sites. Friendly staff and good facilities. We went about 1 mile down the road and stopped at a small fresh seafood store, picked up some shrimp and had wonderful shrimp cocktail for supper!

Ate at Fezzo’s tonight, really good Cajun food for a northerner! Right across the road from Scott KOA,6 miles from Frog City. On to Galveston tomorrow, hope to get leak sorted out there.
-
We will be in Galveston Saturday and staying for 1 week, then down to Corpus Christi for a week before going to RGV. Reguarding the leak, it only seems active when using campgroung water. Not leaking when using fresh water tank. Wayne, the Frog City Park is fine. Small park but open and plenty of pull thru spots for big rigs. There is some noise from highway but didn’t keep me from sleeping.

We are staying at Frog City for 2 nights. Went to Acme Oyster House yesterday, um um good! I agree, expensive doesn’t mean best. I am afraid that if I lived here I would gain 50#.

Great city, I hope to visit again. We had dinner this evening at the Red Fish Grill and it was excellent! So many good places to eat and not enough time and money.

Do we all travel by our stomachs? What’s good near Lafayette?
-
We went to Cafe Du Monde yesterday on the northwest side of city, no wait. Same good product as original at Jackson Square.
-
Yes, runs 2 or 3 times a day, I believe it drops you at Jackson Square.
