  1. Just another fine New England Day. Might need 1 of these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBZiB1PuGBE
  2. Winter Storm Riley to Undergo Bombogenesis, Becoming an Intense Nor'easter With Coastal Flooding, High Winds, Heavy, Wet Snow in the East We live about 15 miles east of Hampton Beach, NH. If the cover blows off the RV I'll consider that an invitation that the season is ready to start. Have generator gas and wine, food optional.....
  3. Glad this thread got some action. So just as I was calming down from cabin fever, this guy calls me up and says he just bought our trade in. Hopefully he joins if not already. He sounds like a really nice guy, but anyways that got me going again but even worse than before. Now I'm looking to not only take the cover off the RV but the boat as well. Plus it's like 62 here today. So I just flapping my gums. Good thing we got a nort easta a coming to settle me down. David
  4. "Deep in the heart of Texas". First thing that came to me when I read this. Now I'll be singing it all day. David
  5. Just to clarify, A mud bug is a craw daddy? We call Lake W, Lake Winny. (winnipesaukee). I don't think even us NH peeps can spell it either, I had to copy and paste.
  6. The old saying here is: New England weather, wait a minute and it will change. I'm taking the MH cover off in a few weeks regardless. Stinks looking outside and seeing the boat parked next to the MH next to the pool and it's all covered up. Then to boot we are looking for some retirement land in Maine, doesn't make any sense does it? I can tell I have the cabin fever because I've just started babbling more and more. No offense but I won't move south, a lot of visits planned though. Complainer, whiner..who me, yes I resemble that this time of year but I'm harmless.
  7. Losing it here in NH. Help me Mr. Wizard! I just made an appointment for end of March for a few minor warranty issues and that did it. So I crawled under the cover and fired it up....THE RV! If the clock went any slower it would be going backwards. Dave
  8. I knew someone who has passed in 2011, James Brennan. Maybe he knew Jim. He was an awesome guy. The family of Mr. James E. Brennan have asked the Patriot Guard to stand in honor of their loved one. Mr. Brennan was a survivor of the Bataan Death March, then held captive for over 3 and a half years before his liberation and subsequent return home to his family. He has a life-long history of involvement in Veterans issues, groups and work in his community. He served for 34 years on the Pawtucket Police Department retiring in 1982 as a lieutenant and the head of the Traffic Division. He was the first president of the Pawtucket FOP Lodge #4 and long time member of the Walter Gatchell Post and the VFW Chapter 306. Jim was very active in the DAV Lawrence E. Redmond Chapter 3 and has been a strong and outspoken advocate for veteran's issues.Awards and decorations: Purple Heart, Prisoner of War Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. In 1999 Jim received the Rhode Island Cross and in 2009 he was inducted into the Pawtucket Hall of Fame.
  9. We test our shocks while parked, jacks retracted. "If this MH is rocking, don't come knocking"........Opps.
  10. Tiff, AJ- Maybe we can tilt a glass bottle of wine sometime. We plan on being there almost every weekend unless we are traveling on vacation. David

    Skid Wheels

The coach is gas. I like the air bag thought. I only need a couple of inches if that. I almost ripped off the mud flap when it got stuck under the drag brackets pulling in. I might try the board ramps first (I'm cheap). That will have to wait until early spring. Coach is wrapped up for the winter. Snow and frigid cold here now. We might need to get a shotgun shack in Texas. Thanks guys. David

    Skid Wheels

So I need to install a pair of skid wheels on the MH. Our driveway has a good pitch and the rear drags on the skid brackets when pulling in or out. Not a lot but enough to be uncomfortable. I see that they make skid wheel that weld on the rear frame but I need a type that mount on the skid brackets. I only need 3" max. more clearance. Thoughts? Ideas? Our really old TT had stem casters mounted on the brackets. Thanks, David
  13. We are using that as well along with the dryer sheets. So far been good. The got into our last MH in the cab heater blower and ate the wires and insulation up in the AC. When I started in up in the winter I got covered in nest material and a dead one's head was sticking out the vent. The fan kind of chewed them up. Took along time to clean.
  14. Pets are allowed only after Columbus day. So aren't horses on the beach
  15. I would plan my route by restaurants between point A and B.....
  16. I fished Worden's Pond. Big largemouth. Carl, your like almost next town over.
  17. Finally got in for the weekend. There is usually a 11 month lead time thru Reserve America and is always booked. But after Columbus Day its first come. We have been there all summer dry camping in the field. This is a whole lot better with full hook ups and this view inside looking out.
  18. During a boring rainy day while boondocking @ Hampton Beach, NH we decided to take a ride and look at some new RV's. After about 1/2 hr looking we traded in for a 2018 FR Georgetown XL 369. OMG, what a difference. We pick it up next weekend because we need to have the washer/dryer installed. Going camping right after pick up. David
  19. We have been going here almost every weekend since my original post. Last weekend there were a bunch of peeps from Canada BDing and they had there own band playing. That was neat. The beach is great and the boardwalk has a lot of interesting sights........
  20. The Wild Duck looks great. We will have to check that out some day. Maybe mid Sept........ David
  21. I think you should be at Bar Harbor already. How was the trip? What route did you end up taking? David
  22. We booked a week at Family & Friends Campground at Sebago Lake in Maine for August. All the reviews I read were good. http://www.familynfriends.com/ We only boondock in NH, our weekly stays are usually in Maine. Nice state! Beautiful coast and lakes! Having a boat will make this an enjoyable trip. I will post some pics after our stay and along with our review. David
  23. There are a couple of chapters that go to both of those every year. We haven't been with them YET. Scusset beach is great.
  24. Oh and there are a bunch of tolls in Maine.
  25. Once in Maine, if you like a more scenic ride (and longer) get off I95 in Portland and get on I295 then get off in Freeport and take Rt1 then Rt3 to Bar Harbor. We use this route from NH all the time. Check it out on the map. Also mostly all the campgrounds on Mt Desert Island have a free shuttle to Bar Harbor. We always stay at the Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA, right after the bridge. Free Shuttle: http://www.exploreacadia.com/
