  1. I'll test drive towing the toad and get my feet wet. The queen will have to try it out also, ahhh, that outta be a treat. You all are great, and we appreciate all the advice. I sure hope we have the chance to meet up sometime. Also getting my trip music together, start out in NH with "Slow Ride", figure out when to play "I can't drive 55" and pull into MB KOA playing "Mas Tequila" and I'm sure I'll need it.
  2. I haven't driven out of New England since 1977 to Ft. Hood and that has been all. So I'm starting off a little highway shy. After this trip I'll be singing to "Highway Star".
  3. How about getting off 81 and take 64 into Richmond and catching 95 there?
  4. We decided to leave on Friday morning. We will see some traffic but at least we have allotted some rest time.
  5. Secret location is Fremont, NH. Then there's one item that's a couple of stops that's not on that list
  6. I can do it!!!! Anyone know where the best place to get off I-95 and head to MB?
  7. As fer de toad. I didn't think we would need it. That decision can change. We have a tow dolly and I haven't towed with the MH yet. i guess we have over under estimated our driving time. We will have to change our departure time. Also agreed to use jleamont's directions after a map review. OMG, this is all new to me, I'm already freaking out.
  8. Ocean Lakes is booked. KOA will be fine for us. I'm looking at I-495 to I-90 to I-87 to I-84 to I-81 to I-95 then go east. I think, !@#$. I would go thru NYC at night but I heard doesn't matter. Any time is bad.
  9. For the past few years we have been in New England only with our motorhome(s). +/- 3 hr drives. We just planned a trip to Myrtle Beach in June to stay at the KOA for a week. This will be our 1st road trip outside of New England. I feel some anxiety as we never drove that far. Looks like a 15 hr ride. We figured if we leave NH Friday evening we could blast right thru NYC, if not we would go around. What do you think driving thru NYC on a Friday nite would be like, say around 10-11 pm? Not going to bring the toad.
  10. My Queen is kinda sorta like Sammy Hagar: One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey! Well, there's too much traffic she can't pass, no! So she tried her best illegal move Well, baby, blue and white come and touched her groove again! SHE CAN'T DRIVE 65! I actually sing that to her when she is driving. Gets very aggravated.
  11. Wasn't that wicked awesome. tff. I'll have to attend a National if parking is like that, just get there a day earlier for the grandstand seats.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohkAxbeMxVo A little entertainment. Scroll ahead to see the race. LMAO.
  13. I was following a truck that was dripping fluid out the back and it got all over the front of my truck. When I finally got the chance to pass the placard said "Corrosive", of course I lost the paint on the front on the hood a week later. Didn't get the license #. Stupid me.
  14. "Spring is going to be late this summer"
  15. And let us not forget the appetizer "The Quahog" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_clam OMG they are so good, any size and anyway you serve. I smash them with a rock and eat them raw while digging.
  16. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tautog https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scup Tautog are great tasting since they mostly eat shellfish. They are pretty ugly, their teeth look like bad human teeth. We use green crabs to catch. Scup are also very good to eat. Easy to catch. Use squid for bait or sea clam. I have a 21' boat so I can get most of FMCA in it....lol
  17. Don't forget you get a discount on the toll with the EZ Pass, well in NH you do. So the money you spend on the transponder eventually pays for itself over time. After that the discount goes in your wallet. Not much but wth.
  18. Winnebago Warrior? That's a song, not my style tho. Onward through the fog !
  19. I always step on the brakes in the passenger seat.
  20. Oh ya, I can't wait for the Easter Egg hunt on Sunday at our house. We have 8 ac to hide the eggs so that will keep them busy for a spell. 13 of 14 and 14 of 14 are just babies. We will probably spend a lot time boondocking and at small campgrounds around here. I want to go farther but the queen likes to stay close for now. The 4th at the resort outta be a treat. I call all the grand kids by #, like the Borg. They think its funny.
  21. Snow all melted off the MH cover. I'm taking it out for a ride Saturday, actually dropping it off for some very minor warranty repairs. Our last MH (FR3) was a warranty fiasco (windshield leak, jack not working, bunk kept falling down, etc.). The GT came in alot better (windshield washers inop, compartment door lock on entertainment center don't work) thats all so far. David
  22. I found the on line reviews and it is more kid orientated. We might have all "14" grandkids there. Yikes. Parents will have their own campsite or cottage but they will still overrun our position. I can just here it now "We want to sleep in the MH". Actually maybe not because I tease them all the time. I already have a sign for the MH door "Gone Fishing".
  23. I'm making reservations for this resort for 4th of July week. Just wondering if anyone has stayed there before. Looks good from the website. Thanks, David
  24. I just tried to reserve on line
  25. Very nice! I'm going to put Utah on my list. That outta be a good haul.
