  1. She was raised in Santa Maria Acores, almost all of there food came from the ocean. They know how to eat and cook it in everyway possible. I don't eat the heads though but have fried up dozens. When she is done you can't tell that was 1/2 a fish...lol. Most all in her family can separate the bones in their mouth and spit them out later, then bring the shellfish into it and you need wet weather gear. btw....I have cabin fever bad.
  2. Funny thins is that I cannot bring home fish without a heads, wife is Portuguese, or it will be mine in the frying panela.
  3. Imma going to do the "Tog and Hog" this weekend. A Buzzards Bay saying. Tautog and Quahogs. Tautog feeds thru the winter and eats mostly crab so it is an excellent tasting fish.
  4. 1 peck or basket is the limit. Need to gauge them also. Our "hogs" never make it to the stuffin stage. Wife is always smashing them together to open almost as fast as imma diggin.
  5. https://www.savebuzzardsbay.org/news/how-to-dig-for-quahogs-in-buzzards-bay/ If you need to know what quahogging is.
  6. Big time scramble. Talk about anxiety to the max Everything is in storage. The cape has a fold out table, plastic chairs and a blow up mattress also a Christmas tree set up that was left in the shed. The queen and I will be hiding out there for the holidays. I even got all the equipment to go quahogging and stay dry and warm. Christmas blessings to all.
  7. We sold the main house in NH about a month ago. Big score on that one. The MH and the boat are at the cape. We put a ridiculous price on it and got full price offer in a week, closed 3 weeks later. Ching ching!
  8. Pre retirement location. When it's time (3 yrs) we will not be there in the winters. Come spring we will have 3 locations. The temp. apt. in NH. MH will be seasonal in NH and the cape house. We will move out of apt. and live in MH while cape house gets nuked! We just go there now on the weekends.
  9. 17 deg., 14" of snow. Just another fine New England Day!
  10. OK I got it. Didn't work the 1st time around. Thanks
  11. Kind if like the theme song from Gilligan's Island
  12. Yep. Here we go again. A little diff this winter coming. Bought house on Cape Cod, sold house in NH and renting a temp. apartment while we gut and redo the Cape house. MH and boat already parked at Cape. David
  13. I have recently moved and want to change my address on my account and so I can still get the mag. I poked around the profile stuff and can't seem to find it. Help me Mr. Wizard! Thanks, David
  14. We just sold our house in NH. Had to get a "temp" apartment for the time being. I never lived in an apartment. Kind of weird not being able to drink a 12 pack and mark my territory!
  15. Our wild game here in NH is people from MA crossing the border. Taste like pigeon, raw or cooked!
  16. I just got the FMCA mag so I will check it out. Just looking for a metal type carport cover. Oh and withstand NE winters. It would be nice to stuff the boat in there but that would make it like 70' long. I think just 40' would be good for 38' MH. David
  17. We are looking to get one of those carport thingies for the MH to put down the cape. It will be coastal and needs to withstand that type of weather. I see a lot advertised. Any recommendations for all who have one? Thanks. David
  18. Not sure about a DP but maybe need a tranny filter and fluid change. Tranny will generate more heat and transfer it to the engine. Happened in my truck only when towing boat. After changing all the coolant stuff that didn't change a thing went to the tranny and wala.
  19. Bill, Yes replacements will work better. The plastic that is faded out is under a glass cover. David
  20. My Merc gauges are in bad condition. They monitor almost everything. They work fine but you can barely see thru the lens now. I was going to try and change them out with new but didn't know if I could just plug em in. I finally found a place that will replace the lens a lot cheaper than new. No DIY for those units. David
  21. Officially canceled. We are taking the option same trip next year, 2021, at the same price.
  22. Anyone know a good Mercury Outboard techie? Want to replace 2002 smart craft gauges. Can’t see thru the lens anymore. Thanks, David
  23. I looked at the topic title and already had a list for me? But that wasn't being asked. CG in NH are packed also. We are still in vacation mode so we kinda sorta plan oua longa trips. This yeaa all our CGing has been in NH. "Rememba that the journey is the destination and enjoy the journey."- Wayne
  24. I rememba in boot camp standing at attention and reciting words with the accent in front of the platoon so the "southern" DI could have a good laugh. You wouldn't imagine how many times I said paak da caa. Even had to do it over the tank comm.
  25. So when my grand daughter says CAA CAA when driving it could mean either 2 things.......
