Bill
Maybe that is why they cost so much, govt contract?

The absolute biggest advantage to Snap-On is when working on any military item Aircraft or ground support if you need a special tool there will be a part number in the technical order and it will take you to that tool in a snap on catalog.
Bill
I didn't know about the aircraft info. Good to know when I get my Lear, haha. Thanks Bill.

Or, if you have a connection to a shop you may be able to buy through their account. Craftsmen tools are not what they once were and I've found their quality dropping some. Still better than average though in my opinion.
There are still a few high-quality tool companies out there in the retail market such as S-K, but even then you've got to be careful and watch to avoid tools made of poor quality or in countries with poor QC.
Of course, if you can catch one of the Sears stores going out of business quickly after they announce, you can get some really good deals on Craftsmen tools.
I would have no problem getting Snap on. I do agree about the Craftsman quality. Even their return policy isn't what it used to be. That said, I'm not wrenching as much as I used to so I'm leaning towards Craftsman. Thanks Richard, good points.

Retired here but I've never had a problem paying for quality. Thanks Jim

Thanks DD

Just curious. Had all of our stuff in storage back in PA and it got burglarized. Among other stuff, all my tools were stolen. I was always a big Craftsman guy but I know things aren't how they used to be. Just wanted to get some thoughts from you Pro's. Thanks Guys.

Lots of choices from there. As Bill said Hwy. 2 (Freeway) to Harlingen. I-77 goes to Brownsville. Or North to CC and I-59 or Hwy. 35E.
Anything you want to know about Cajun Country, let us know! We seem to have a bunch on this Forum! Me, I only have a hunting/fishing camp South of Hwy. 14. 12 miles to Abbeville and 3 miles to Forked Island.
Yeh, we do want to go see Big Bend so good chance we will head down that way. Thanks Carl. Got a buddy in Lafayette who is a Cajun chef. He loves to cook and we love to eat, hehe.

If you are coming into the San Antonio are on I-10 I would jog up to Fredericksburg. I hilly recommend visiting National Museum of the Pacific War, 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, pacificwarmuseum.org,(830) 997-8600. This is part of the Smithsonian and they have Admiral Nimitz home.
We have stayed at Oakwood RV Resort, 78 FM2093, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, oakwoodrvresort.com, (830) 997-9817. You can get back on I-10 to San Antonio or continue South on I-35 to Laredo.
We have stayed hear, Texas Trails RV Resort, 501 W Owassa Rd, Pharr, TX 78577, texastrailsrv.com, (956) 782-7886.
Something to see when in the RGV is the The United States Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial) Well the original plaster working model for it. The original plaster working model for the bronze and granite memorial statue currently stands in Harlingen, Texas at the Marine Military Academy, a private Marine Corps-inspired youth military academy.
You can follow I-2 to the coast and South Padre Island.
Bill
Thanks Bill. We were at San Antonio in 2016 on our first trip. Not sure if we'll get up that way this time but thanks for the tips.

Any suggestions on RV parks or even BLM sites?

At Davis-Montham Fam camp in Tucson getting Sweetie Pie's leg fixed up. We'll be here till the end of the month while she does her therapy.
Then it is east to El Paso for a few days and then down thru the RGV. Got to check out all the hoopla everybody is talking about.
After that it will be up along the gulf coast and into Lafayette LA around the middle of April.
Will leave there around May 1st and over to Rome GA then TN and KY and up to PA.
Anybody want to meet up?

14 is very doable. When in Cody be sure and visit the Buffalo Bill Museum. They have a very extensive display of weapons and some of the finest western art on earth. You will need at least a whole day to do it justice.
If you plan on taking advantage of the Hot Sulphur baths in Thermopolis be sure to take bathing suits and towels that you can throw away when finished. You can never get the smell of the Sulphur out of them.
Herman
Great tip Herman. That's good to know because we plan on going out to the hot springs at some point. Thanks.

The photos of the solar panel installation are very good though. Ideal place to have them.
It is the boondocking capital of the world but it's not for us. We had to do it once to see for ourselves. Thanks

Nice photos, thank you, for reminding me, of why I do not go there anymore!!! I'll show them to Linda, she want's to go to Quartzsite and can't understand, why I don't.
Thanks, he's a good boy. I doubt we will come here again but I did see some better spots on the other side of the pass towards Bouse. Supposed to be not as dusty and from what I saw, a little more secluded. Thanks again

We are not planning on being there before June 1st. Thanks

Here we in Quartzsite, boondocking for the first time. Been here 2 weeks now. Solar panel install. You're right Bill Adams, this is one dusty 'Burg. Had to do it at least once. We'll be heading to Tucson soon, not sure if it will be a day, a week or a month. After that, through El Paso and along southern TX to the RGV. Very well could be spending some time there this winter so we want to check it out on our way to Lafayette, LA..

OK, the fuses are good, power is where it's supposed to be, arrow is pointed away from the pump, it's all good. I had one of the valves in bypass instead of normal use so when I installed the check valve and turned the pump on, it did pump and pressure up and turn off. Wasn't until I went in to wash for supper, I noticed no water coming out the spigot. Well, there was enough to wet my hands and soap up and then it died. Tried a few things and couldn't get the pump to come on or get any water. Troubleshot today and found the problem. Put the 3 valves in normal use and away we go. Diagnosis: Loose nut behind the wheel. Thanks guys

11 minutes ago, kaypsmith said:Make sure that the arrow on the checkvalve is pointed away from the pump in the downstream position, if put in reversed, the pump cannot cycle on, because of the pressure against the valve. This type pump is a diaphragm style which means that it will pump air as well as water. If any air is in the system, it will actually pump the air out. This is why it is critical to not have an air leak between the fresh water tank and the pump, so that it does not pump air instead of water, causing the pump to not shut off, or cycle very often. You can test the checkvalve to make sure that it is working correctly by blowing into the checkvalve. If you blow into the end that the arrow is pointed to, no air should pass. If you blow into the end that the arrow is pointed away from, the air flow should be unrestricted. If the valve doesn't work as stated above on both tests, the valve is defective. Make sure that you have 12 volts present to the pump also, just an added thought, someone may have turned the pump off or a fuse could be blown if 12 v is not present.
Yeh, I made sure about the arrow. Thinking back, it did come on after installing the check valve but I may have bumped the hot wire on the switch to the frame and could be a popped fuse. I'll be fresh at it in the morning. Thanks

Had the same issue with my coach. Fresh water tank filling on shore water. I installed a check valve downstream of the pump but now the pump wont come on at all. I saw a thread in here about having to prime the pump but don't remember where it was. It got dark so I went back on shore water. Tomorrow I will get out and check the fuses and so on. When putting the check valve in I'm sure I got air in the lines. Does the pump need primed and if so, what are the steps? Thanks Guys.

As for Princess Phone, I still have the original prototype and #1 working phone in original box...#2 hung on the wall, 1 year prior to Public release!
I still got my Mickey Mouse phone.
