Or if no ladder, double sided tape from any hardware  or box store to put in the back of your RV.

That's how mine is mounted to the top port-side of the rear cap, didn't put one on the  top front port-side of the MH, there's too much on the front already. I don't know how long the tape will stick, it's only been on there since I joined in 2015-I think.

DB, where you live, I would invest in a power washer!  I live 160 miles south of Dallas and we have 2.  Just put it on low PSI for coach.

    Ernie, who's on Third?

    Herman.  See. :D

I don't know; and I carry a small suitcase electric  power( can't in all conscience call it pressure)  washer in the basement on every winter trip. Even took it along on our Alaska trip.

I am still trying to get this resolved with SafeRide.   THey DO NOT MOVE YOU TO A SAFE LOCATION.   Beware, if you go to a location that is not a repair center (ie:  a campground), they will not reimburse you for your expenses.   In our case, we moved to a safe location (campground) where we could explore service centers for a 4 tire changeover for the specific tires we needed.  That took a couple of days to get the tires and do the changeover.   They would not reimburse for the camping..... whoopee a whole $36.00.

The tire change prior to our move got denied also.   They claim they can't read the receipt and are not obligated to call the wrecker service that provided the changeover to the spare tire.  Been dealing with this since Oct 6.  All kinds of excuses and indications of not receiving our information via email.  Faxes are illegible.

Again, I say don't DEAL WITH THIS SERVICE.

This FMCA pdf explains how to call for Saferide ERS help: https://www.fmca.com/pdfs/roadside/roadside_checklist.pdf

, however, it is quite confusing to me. Mr. Ball told me on Nov. 4 he was going to call his contact at Saferide and get back to me ASAP. I'll let you know the results after he gets time to answer my concerns about that document. I realize this is not his only focus, he's a busy man.

  4. Virtually any HDT repair shop can work on the chassis portion of a MH. If they will or not is another matter, you must talk to them. I had my engine worked on at a local HDT repair shop, also a total alignment, they did excellent work.

  5. If value and cost are important, check out Sailun truck tires. I had 6 275R70/22.5, LR H, put on our MH, final price I paid was $1,280. IMO they ride every bit as good and the Goodyear' that they replaced, and are all steel ply construction They were 4 months old when purchased, my tire shop followed my request. Sailun truck tires are made in Vietnam since 2017(purchase date was July 2018).

P.S. I noticed Sailun truck tire prices have risen a bit since I bought.

Bill, thanks for the suggestion, that is my intent, had a neighbor whose rear was 11% out of alignment and once corrected he said it was like he was driving a different coach.

That is called "thrust angle" my rear axle was out 3/4". After the total alignment ours drove the same as your neighbor described.

Weight applied well behind the rear axle DOES by leverage put more weight on the rear axle and remove weight from the front.

👍 We agree,  however that does not apply to a WDH when properly adjusted, as the hitch weight is distributed equally on rear and front axle.

Richard, no I do not, but had to be something to shut off part of the starting process. I still have  charger on the batteries but every time I try and turn the key nothing happens and I know the batteries have at least 12.7 volts. Have called a mobile repair place and am hoping they can come out today to see what has happened.

Have also tried starting generator but have had the same results

    Very frustrating

Today you stated the generator starts fine, what changed?

What were the battery test results?

Trailer YES-- tongue weight must be taken into account and will apply well more than its actual weight to the rear axle and subtract some from the front axle.

Toad pulled 4 wheels down NO effect on coach weight (other than weight of tow bar).

"well more than it's actual weight to the rear axle"; What do you mean by that?

Wildbill308 is correct, a trailer should place no more than 15% (10% is ideal) of total trailer weight on the hitch. Trailer axles are placed at the ratio of 60/40, 60% of trailer frame is in front of center of tandem axles-unless the trailer is a gooseneck or 5th wheel pin, those can be considerably more depending upon axle placement.

I am going to flat tow a Ford explorer . So 115 in front and should tag and rear be at same pressure? Currently rear at 110 and tag at 80. Where do you get tires inflated?

If you do not have a 150# compressor, any truck stop  has the equipment to inflate truck and MH tires, you must specify the amount of tire pressure. You do not need higher inflation to flat-tow a vehicle vs not towing anything.

Increasing or reducing tag-axle tire pressure is one way to add or remove weight from the front axle, I would remain at  Federal Tire Placard stated tire pressures, until you have your MH weighed at each tire position.

Ray, how is your DW ?  Any improvement?

She is about the same condition, I seriously doubt she will ever recover enough for extended traveling again. She has great difficulty speaking too(brain damage), and will not socialize. We've had a good run and will not sell our MH;  she does want to winter in FL again this winter unless she begins feeling worse. The trip to and from FL will take a while as she can only travel ~250 miles at a stretch, then the back pain overcomes the meds;  well, that's why our apartment has wheels- wherever we stop is home.

Thank you for inquiring. I keep in mind,  _in sickness and health until death do us part.

I try to get out of the house when she feels like me being away from her. Today I replaced the MH coolant overflow bottle, the OEM Spartan replacement is $70, I bought a 1G tank from United Plastics + cap, I had to drill N tap the bottom for a 1/4" NPT hose barb and with all that, the installed tank cost  $22 delivered.
