Got some updating going before Quartzite the first is to organize soda cans

These racks organize 48 cans all together.  DW like it so much that she wants some for water bottles.  Sorry these are for cans not tall bottles.

The microwave/convection oven  started tilting down at the front and had to be relevel if it was ever level.  It was down in the front 2% and 1/2 brought it back to level.

I installed brackets where there was none.  HR thought shooting a couple of screws underneath was good for down the road.

Now the filler panel that goes over top of the MW needs to be cut down from 7 to 6 1/2 inch.  I was going to use that space for spice rack but the cats jumped into that space twice.  We had to stuff a couple of couch pillows into that space to keep them out.  You can't turn your backs on them for a second.

The spacer on ours is only about 2".

  2. I have been in contact with FlexSteel about replacement of the upholstery on seat of the Euro chair in my 04 HR Endeavor.  The upholstery has held up well in my coach, the issue with the Euro chair was caused by my dog scratching.

FlexSteel has responded to my inquire and has acknowledges that they have the pattern to fabricate the covering and had requested that I send a sample of the material no make sure it will match the arms and back of the chair.

Will keep you posted as this progresses.

    Magnum Energy ME2012-20B  ME-Series 2000W 12VDC Modified Sine Inverter/100 Amp PFC Charger

I have the same Magnum inverter/charger as Ray and have has no problems with the TV's or microwave,  I did have to replace the electronic board in inverter/charger and up grade the remote software to accommodated the Magnum battery monitor.  These upgrades will support the generator auto start if I ever decide to install it,

  4. If you look at the specifications of both PSW inverter and MSW inverter you will find the MSW inverter is more efficient at any given load.  I expect the efficiency of the equipment being powered by the MSM inverter will be less effecient than it would be when powered by a PSW one.

    HowieEld,

    Welcome to the FMCA Forum.

The #1 cause of the burned wire as in your picture) is a loose connection (the screw holding the wire has too little torque on it).

Have you verified that the ATS is bad (vs just bad connection on that terminal)?

Do you have enough slack in your cable to allow you to cut out the bad section-- you will need to do this whether this or a new ATS.

If not enough slack, you will need to either replace the romex wire from it's beginning point OR install a new junction box where you will make the appropriate splices.

Looks like all of the damage is on the terminal block at the BLACK wire.  #6 wire is rates for 50 amp loads.  The wiring in the the picture doesn't look like like # 2 or #4, I would make sure that the replacement ATS has correct size terminal block for wire installed in your coach otherwise you will not be able to get a good connection.

    Carl,

Please verify that the alternator is not wired to charge BOTH battery banks.  That would be highly unusual!

Brett,  My Holiday Rambler was wired like Carl's when I purchased it used.  I removed the stock solenoid that you could parallel the coach and chassis with a momentary switch on the dash.  I replaced the solenoid with an ACR and now both battery banks are charged by either the inverter/charger or the chassis engine alternator. The 2 banks are in parallel when and when the voltage of each bank is=>12.4v, when either bank drops below 12.4v the ACR drops out and doesn't parallel the batteries until the chassis battery or the coach battery voltage is >13.6 v .  The only draw back  with the ACR  you have to make sure you don't have the chassis engine running when you have the inverter/chargers in the charging mode because will have the alternator output and the charger output tied together.  I just have to make sure that when the generator is running or when I'm on shore power that I don't have the inverter/charger in the charger mode. I've only forgot this on one occasion and I got a ALT FLT light on the dash, no damage was done.

They do not have external springs and was wondering if that might be the simplest solution.  It won't solve the " auto mode not functioning" but will keep me mobile for now. The unit is in winter storage (MN) for the next month or so and want to be able to travel to warmer weather before I trouble shoot !! I should be able to purchase some external springs I can attach to keep them in the full up position.

I just saw an article who had similar problem and he drained a pint of the hydraulic fluid out of the reservoir and added a pint of SEA FOAM automatic transmission treatment and cycled the jacks a few time and it corrected his problem. He then change the hydraulic fluid. Since reading you posting I decided to look at the fluid in my leveling system and it doesn't look real good real dark in color for automatic transmission fluid. Coach is 16 years, I've had it for 9 and haven't changed it so it is probably long over due.

  8. Sound like you just need an old fashion carburetor cleaning. Those carburetors are simple, just dissemble, remove all jets, float and needle valve. soak overnight in carburetor cleaner(or place in ultrasonic cleaner) blow out all passages and you are good to go.

If you are a novice just got to YOU TUBE and you will become a pro.

I hope to be leaving going through there Sunday or Monday. I can easily get from my place to Seven Feather no problem then refuel there. Then I travel as far as I can into so I don't have to refuel more than twice in CA. I hope to stay at SAM'S in Desert Hot Springs for 30 days. Then we going to Quartzite, AZ for a chapter rally for a week. That will be a good start of my winter trip.

We are also staying at Desert Hot Springs  at Sky Valley.  We won' be leaving until late January, we check in on 1 Feb. for 30 days then heading  to El Paso to visit our son who lives in Juarez MX .  When traveling thru OR we always include a stop at Seven Feathers, it's one of our favorites or second stop is Premier RV Resorts in Redding .  As you can see, we are in no hurry,

    Huff,

I also read the same link, I refrained from including it in  my post. I didn't want to muddy the water any more than it is.

I would be traveling thru mid January when going south of a couple of months,  When are you heading south? Let me know how it works for you if you pass thru OR before me.

I think the prices on EFS today were less than the last PUC prices.

This was discussed at length in another thread (can't find it right now - possibly on FMCA Forum, possibly it was on iRV2). If I remember correctly, the price posted on the EFS app is the price the truckers pay. If you are filling a vehicle without a PUC number the discount is the same, but the price will be adjusted to account for the tax. Not sure if it was automatic at the pump when you didn't have a PUC number or if you had to activate inside at the fuel desk, but first-hand information was on the other thread if you can find it.

I have seen so many conflicting stories on the pricing in OR I  decided to call TSD to get the straight answer.  They informed me that the daily prices posted on the EFS app includes OR state fuel tax and the pumps in the truck lanes reflect this price.

Please speak up if anyone has actually purchased fuel in OR and can versify that this information is correct.

Your BIL was lucky.  There have been way too many examples of AAA not having the proper equipment or personnel sent to assist a MH.   I'm in the process of renewing my ERS provider, AAA is not in the running.

After reading all of the comments on the different ERS providers , doesn't look like any of them have a five star rating.

Personally I believe all of them are a crap shot, but a necessary evil.

    Wayne, know that feeling well.

Jim, I don't remember if it was OR or WA, where I could not fill my own coach & car...an attendant had to do it.

OR requires attendants to pump your fuel except for motorcycles, however the rtecently relaxed their law and allow you to pump your own on the east side of the state in small rural towns.  Most places will start filling filling diesel tanks, but will allow you to remove nozzle when finished.

It't been on the ballots several times to let you pump your own, but never passes. I believe the only other state that prohibits you from pumping your own is VT.
