    If you are using the inverter You need a vent to let the heat out and even better to have a fan blowing to the outside.  The way I'm cutting the dirt is using a A/C foam filter on the air inlet of the compartment.  My new inverter charger is quite up to date and I have a ARC 50 remote control  on the way.  I have to find the wiring for the auto start module before I think about hooking it up.

    The only load that I put on the inverter is my residential refrigerator, the maximum  DC current draw from the battery bank that I have observed is 10 amps. I'm have a remote thermometer with MAX and  MIN temperatures that I'm going to install to determine what temperature are in the compartment.

    I need to review my Magnum Manual to determine what their ambient operating temperature range is.

      


  2. I have the same inverter/charger that in mounted in same compartment on my 04 Holiday Rambler Endeavor PDQ, however my compartment has no form on ventilation. I up graded circuit board in the inverter/charger and the software in the remote unit several years ago when I installed the battery charge level option. When I changed the circuit board I didn't find an signs of dust accumulation in on the circuit board or in the unit,   I have a residential refrigerator and I run the inverter continuously when driving down the road unless it is so warm that it requires the roof top ACs.

    Not sure if I'm running on borrower time, but so far so good.

  3. I  damaged the right rear storage door on my 04 holiday Rambler it  was cheaper to have a sheet metal shop to fabricated one than to purchased used from either of the salvage yards that you have mentioned. I expect that you panel may have more contours and may be more difficult  to duplicate,

    I'm glad to read that you are pleased with Hankook tires.   My 2016 Newmar Ventana LE that I purchased four months ago (replaced my 2007 Damon Astoria) has original Michelin XZE2+ tires that are 275/70R22.5 size manufactured in the 46th week of 2014.  My left front tire has some minor cracking and the tire is only 4-1/2 years old. 

    Southern Tire Mart near my home in Katy, TX (west side of Houston) will accept the FMCA discount for Hankook tires (which is significant at $330 price reduction per tire) but are working to see if they can beat the FMCA discount price.   I only drive my motorhome ~5,000 miles a year while still having a full time career so my tires will age-out before they were out.  In your opinion would Hankook tires be a good choice for me?    Purchasing six Hankook tires would save me $1800 versus purchasing six Continental tires (I wont' consider Michelin tires given the early cracking of my current Michelins).

    The front Hankook tires that I just replaces had been in service 7 years (35K miles., I had the dealer inspect them when they removed them and no damages was found and tread left on tire 80%. The tries weren't balances and it drove great, no vibration.

Go to the BENEFITS page and it will walk you through it.  I just purchased the same size front tires for my coach stayed with the same brand that I have been running, Hanhook.  My previous one were their AH 12 and they are no longer available, they have been replaced with their AH 37. The AH 37 is a 18 ply where the AH 1 2 was a 16 ply, don/t see any difference in the ride.'

    I purchased mine from local dealer, the price was competitive with the FMCA price, just seemed like less hassle/

  6. The microwave receptacle was one where the solid copper wire was only pressed in a slot on the back of the receptacle. Fortunately I was able detect poor connection before it over headed and no damage was done to the ROMEX wire. I was able to replace the receptacle with a 20 residential one with attachment screws.

    Magnum has facility at Paine Field in Everett WA.  Not sure what their capability is.

    When I added the battery Load option to my inverter/charger they uploaded an newer software version to my remote. At that time they were moving some of their work to another of their facilities, that's been a couple of years ago, know there is an authorized repair dealer in Portland.

    There is no misalignment and the vertical seal is parallel and equal on both ends when closed. Just before the slides reaches the fully closed position the inside edge of the side actually rises about 1/4"but when you release the IN switch the slide relaxes a small amount in the open position. It appears that the when the closing forces that compress the sealing surfaces a small amount and once the power to the motor is interrupted the slide move a small about before the brake sets to secure the slide. During tis small movement you can see the slide settle a small amount that would cause the imprint in the carpet.

    I'm going to check the brake to see if there is an adjustment. After 15 years of use, I not surprised that the brake hasn't some wear.

    Read your owners manual.  Each manufactures slideouts operate different.  Mine is supposed to have full air suspension and the engine not running.  It can be plugged into shore power or running generator to give it more ump.

    Thanks for reply, I'm sure that I close the slides while still connected to shore power, but normally start engine to fill suspension after closing slide. If I start engine before retracting slides it will retract jacks when starting engine and coach will usually become unlevel and have difficulty closing  slides that are traveling in uphill position.

    Only way I can see that it could happen is if they are turning in on in the AC mode, not the propane mode, the electric element could be the causing the breaker to trip

  11. Over a period of time I have noticed that the footprint of the slide   is more visible in the carpet when slide is open. With a little effort you can vacuum the carpet and remover the imprint, 

    It appear that the slide has settled over a period of time.  There are adjustments that are  visible to  adjust the outer wall of the slide, but not for the inside,  The vertical sealing surface are parallel to side wall when in sealed position.

    My style of the slide has a flexible strip covered with the slide carpet to provide the transition between the slide and fixed coach floor.

    Owners manual only reference for adjustment of slide is to contact local dealer. My manual doesn't identify the manufacturer of the slide mechanism.

    The bottom of the slide appears to a piece of white plastic material that provide a friction free surface and two exposed rack and pinion rails.

    Any advice on adjustment to uniformly raise the side 1/4" would be appreciated. I have searched the internet with no success.

    My coach is a 04 Holiday Rambler 40' PDQ.

  12. Have been running Hanhook AH 12 tires on my 04 Holiday Rambler for last seven years  (50k miles) and none of the tires were balanced. I never experienced any vibration and there was no unusual wear on tires when removed due to age.

    I replaced them last week with Hanhook AH 35 and also had them mounted without balancing.  Just completes a 1K mile trip that included driving freeway and secondary road driving and there was no signs of vibration or noises.

    When purchasing both sets of tires (different dealers) both dealers were neutral on the need to balance or not and recommended to drive them for a while to determine if it was needed. .

  13. I was able to locate ABS control module and the red fault lamp was illuminated. Following the instructions in owners manual I was able to reset the fault lamp on control module and ABS lamp in the dash cluster.

     

    Drove the remainder of trip (150 miles) without an ABS warning.

    All is well for now, thanks for your responses. Still would like to have a list of fault codes if anyone has them. I know at some point in time I will need them. My owners manual is quite complete, however it say to contact manufacturer for fault codes. 

    When following the diagnostic instruction, I got a code (1 blink pause 1 blink) which per instructions indicated that no faults exist and that system was functioning properly.

All of the RV hydraulic jack on motor homes (3) that I have owned have had single acting cylinders (single hydraulic lines on each cylinder) and depend on either internal or external springs to retract. Leaving the cylinders in the extended position for extended periods will weakened the springs over a period of time.
