brothers2016 Report post Posted July 23, 2020 We are setting up our 2020 Rubicon for towing. Do you tow using the recovery lugs on your aftermarket front bumper? Are any of the bumpers certified for towing? Thx in advance.
rayin Report post Posted July 23, 2020 The Jeep forums mostly say it's OK, but the winch may be in the way and may need to be removed; and flat-towing with OEM bumpers is not approved by Jeep.. Rock Hard aftermarket bumpers are designed so you may do both, flat-tow and use a winch.

bm02tj Report post Posted July 24, 2020 Liability If it was a bumper that Lou and the boys made at Rockhard no problem as welding integrity is important Rockhard makes bolt on parts for towing with after market bumpers
manholt Report post Posted July 24, 2020 Charlie, no secret...It was expedient, all has been covered on other posts since 2014....you just need to look for it. 😃
jleamont Report post Posted July 24, 2020 YUP, my bumper is rated and works great! Now I know you are going to ask me who makes it. I’ll have to chase that down, I know it’s not Rock Hard and I bought it from Quadratec at one of their Jeeps and Java events.
jleamont Report post Posted July 24, 2020 HyLine is the manufacture. I spoke to one of their engineers that day and was advised it could handle much more weight than the jeep itself due to the Winch capabilities. The adapters are made by Roadmaster for use with their bars. Adapters for the tow bar. https://www.roadmasterinc.com/products/accessories/adaptors.php
kaypsmith Report post Posted July 24, 2020 I have a stowmaster5000 by roadmaster on my Jeep wrangler, also have an aftermarket bumper that I installed a receiver hitch, then adapted the stowmaster. This makes a very easy way to put the stowmaster off and on the Jeep, been using this setup for two years flawlessly.
manholt Report post Posted July 25, 2020 I had a folding A frame on a Jeep, hooked on to 2" ball on coach! Nice part, if you need your toad serviced, hook on to back of any vehicle that has a hitch, leave at garage and go about your business!
