Jim Fuller (Jim doesn't get on the computer much so this is wife Becky responding)

US ARMY. Enlisted Oct 4, 1960, 20 yrs 27 days.

Retired Oct 31, 1980 as 1SG E-8 from Ft Wainwright AK.

Began service as a cook at Ft Meade MD.

Re-enlisted to go into helicopter maintenance and on to Vietnam (Jul 64-Jul 65); returned to Ft Eustis VA and then to Vietnam for second tour (Jul 68-Jul 69).

After returning to Ft Eustis again, was interviewed for US Army Presidential Flight Detachment and served with the unit supporting Presidents Nixon & Ford until the unit was disbanded in 1976.

Transferred to E-Troop at Ft Wainwright then 242nd Sugar Bears and became their 1SG prior to retirement.

Chose to keep Fairbanks/North Pole as our home for 30 years before retiring second time and setting out in our motor home lifestyle. We sold our house in 2007 and have been traveling to visit family & friends around the Lower 48 since. Returning to Fairbanks every other summer for grandchildren high school graduations. Have been workampers/camp hosts and thoroughly enjoy meeting new people as well as reuniting with those of our past.

God Bless America and thank you to all who have served it well.
