  1. Carlisle tires are nothing to get excited about! http://www.epinions....ility_Tire?sb=1 But Maxxis and Greenball both get good reviews! I thought the Roadmasters came with the Greenball tires.

    Sumitomo Tires

Very same tire and thread pattern, but I believe you will find that they are made in Japan from what my tire man told me.
  3. X-2. Very well made. Really like these. They are easy to install and remove. But you have to leave them in the shape of the ring as they will not fold up. But that is okay with me cause I don't have to get down on my knees to install them!!!
  4. NYS has the 30 day rule also. And they make you jump through hoops to prove that you were not in the state. Fuel receipts, and the like, with the motorhome's license plate number on them and so on.
  5. I'm going to give the guy my wallet. My life has more value to me. And I have had all that specialized training. And if you are passing through NYS, I suggest that you carry your unloaded handgun in a locked container in a locked trunk or basement compartment, because if you get caught carrying it either open or concealed, you will be spending time in very closed with those you want to protect yourself from.
  6. You are only required to have the licence required by your home state. It is good in all the other states under what is called drivers licence compact agreements between the following states: http://www.aamva.org/uploadedFiles/MainSite/Content/DriverLicensingIdentification/DL_ID_Compacts/Compact%20Member%20Joinder%20Dates.pdf
  7. It really does not cover the laws applicable to motorhomes or recreational vehicles. Nothing about supplemental brakes for toads or laws concerning towing of toads. Nothing about which states required fire extingushers and emergency warning triangles. But it is good for whether you can use a cell phone while driving or not.
  8. Amazing that Dusty found this thread in the FMCA forum. The internet has truly made this a very small, but well connected, world.
  9. I like what Germany use to do. They could only use photo radar at intersections where there were a very large number of accidents. I don't know if that is the law over there any more, but it makes a lot of sense. Seems that we have to educate the legislators who create the law. They do work for us!
  10. To get the advertised CoachNet prices, you must belong to a CoachNet affiliated RV Club, FMCA and its individual chapters being some of the affiliated RV Clubs. If you do not belong to a CoachNet affiliated RV Club, you can not purchase CoachNet's emergency roadside service. The interesting catch is that CoachNet has their own "RV Club" that you can join and it comes with their ERS service, but it does not have any of the other FMCA or other club benefits. My original affiliation was through the Allegro Club, and my current affiliation is through FMCA. So that is how it is a benefit. You get the privilege of purchasing their ERS because you belong to a authorized affiliated RV Club (FMCA). Having said all that, I must say that I have CoachNet ERS because I think that they provide the best service, and go beyond and above what is required of them. They were not my first ERS, and I will never go back to the original ERS that I first had.
  11. You can't live in a P.O. Box or P.O. Drawer. Most states have residency requirements and they want to be able to get hold of their citizens. Some are easier to qualify for than others, And being qualified gives you obligations to the state. That is where you want to be careful.
  12. Did they look like this, the cap on right? If they are the ones you have, call Alcoa Wheel's Customer Service and ask them.- 800.242.9898
  13. The oem bags are Firestone, 4100, and the aftermarket are Airlift 1000 http://airliftcompan...df/appguide.pdf, see page 19. The Airlift 1000 carry a lifetime warranty - http://www.airliftco...irlift_warranty I would replace with the Henderson Supersteer Coil Springs if I were going to keep the coach for a while.
  14. How did you determine the fit?
  15. The following appears to be some relation to the owner. Any ideas???
  16. My mechanic builds racing and boat engines and some are 454. The only way he could time my old '94 454 was by ear going down the highway. No timing plate on it to adjust the mark on the harmonic balancer with. One could make one up using top dead center and going from there, but we trusted his ear. She purred like a kitten when he got done.

  18. According to FamilySearch.org, Beauregard Hemings died Jan 1987 in Marion County, Indiana. Just how his coach got to Northern Ireland is beyond me. Very interesting story. Wonder if he had it shipped over there to travel around Ireland, and broke down or got sick? And a very interesting name also, not many carry the handle of Beauregard! Beauregard appears to have a son!! Dusty Hemings. http://www.mylife.com/c-1100602773
  19. KAMS7478, but I was around long before that on the amateur bands.
  20. X2!!! We have the BedInABox PacBamboo 13" Queen Memory Foam Mattress at home and a standard queen, full length, regular mattress in the coach. My wife comments every time when we return home from a trip, how much she missed her BedInABox memory foam mattress. Needless to say, we are planning on replacing the coach mattress even though it is in good shape. Now I do find the BedInABox memory foam mattress a bit warm, and causes me to sweat a bit, in the summer months. But during the winter months, I hate to get out of it!!! And when I say, causes me to sweat, it is no where near as bad as a hospital mattress sweat wise!!! Foam and synthetic materials cause me to sweat really bad, but this memory foam is not bad in that respect! We have had the BedInABox mattress for 2 years now and are still very happy. The one concern I would have with putting it in a coach is the weight. It is a dense foam, so it is heavy! Getting it into the bedroom could be a problem also.
  21. Is there something wrong with the extensions made by Alcoa Wheel when compared to Dually Valves? Alcoa makes both very good extensions and regular extended valves for their wheels. Alcoa Valve Stems and Alcoa Valve Stem Extensions and Stabilizers. They also make Double Seal Valve Caps, that you can add air thru, but do not leak. Plus Alcoa Wheel's prices are a lot cheaper and the quality is excellent. Just wondering why not Alcoa Wheel? Their good enough for your tires.
  22. There are any number of diesel shops out there who can tune your engine. And there are a few who can build up your engine. One of the proven shops, which has been around for years, is Pittsburgh Power/ aka Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh.

    Tire Blowout Today

Any chance that you could have picked up a rock between the tires? That will take out two tires really fast.
  24. I think we all live someplace like that if we look around. Problem is that some of us live in snow counrty, and that eliminates the winter months.
  25. I've read that most of those front floor, other brand, models slide like that too. It is one of the reasons I went with the ReadyBrake. But am very happy with my Blue Ox Atventa LX and Blue Ox's customer service has been great.
