No, I don't value these off-handed opinions.
None of the posters have actually demonstrated any experience with this "fix," nor any relevant or current technical knowledge related to it.
We have a nice very user friendly group here...unlike some forums. If you don't value or like somebody else's opinion...that's fine and your prerogative. But kindly refrain from making inane comments of no value.

...There is a rule that I forgot. When your hooking up toad to coach, do not stop and answer questions!!! EVER...
Carl
Old aviation rule, when using your check list and get interrupted, start the checklist over from the beginning.
-
Carl...seems to me if you get a mid to high quality coach, you'll get a good chassis and enough engine. The problems are with the lower or entry level coaches.
-
Couldn't make this one, where is next year's?

We like to stay a day or two after rallys are over. It's quite a parade watching everybody leave.

...It's been years since any of our sensors have worked. Like the article, we have just lived with it. ...
Blake
RV sensors are famous for not working...we all get used to it and ignore them. Our last two coaches have had " SensaTank Level Monitoring Systems." They have worked perfectly in both coaches. There are three or four readings, Fresh Water, Black, Grey and Propane if you have it. Our rigs have had monitors outside with the water system and inside on the master electric panel over the passenger's seat.

I have no idea what ACA is doing. Just got our magazine, here's a quote from Steve Heim, VP of Customer Experience:
"As many of you already know, REV Group is the new name for ARG. The models in the AC line will now be just three: Revolution, Dream (in place if Allegiance and Tradition) and Eagle with a "Heritage option."
Maybe that means they are not going to build any new Allegiances or Traditions after the ones already built are sold.
-
The source said the info came from the ACA magazine...we are members but have yet to receive the mag...stay tuned.
-
I've gotten some good information from you guys. Thanks
Glad we can help...most of this stuff you have to learn the hard way.
-
Read this on another forum:
New line up...Revolution, Dream, Eagle with Heritage up grade (whatever that means).
Gone: Allegiance and Tradition.
-
And how much does it cost?
Carl
That's always a good question. I've read a number of articles on the new steerable tag axles...but never a price. Guess they don't want to be responsible for us having a heart attack while reading a forum.

FIVE.
I guess they did something different on mine! When I hook up to 120V, I press the inverter button on my control panel...that keeps a charge on my engine batteries. After running all day the engine batteries are full, but will start draining when camped. If I'm camped on generator, then it keeps everything charged. Strange!
I run generator on manual, so I don't forget to turn off auto start when in my non vented garage! I have 20A electric, but we do have storms and some times the power will go off for 6 or 8 hours....since the only thing that is on is Fridge, the batteries don't run down, or never has, since I got rid of the ground interrupt switch.
Carl
My problem occurred the first time I tried to use the coach. Brought the house batteries on line to start it, then called the AC tech line when we got to the CG. They talked me through the procedure to increase the charge rate and charge time. It seems the charger ''thought'' it was only charging four batteries, not eight. That boosted the normal charge to 13.6 to 13.8...worked fine since. I'll have to ask about turning the inverter on and if that affects charging the chassis batteries. Now I only turn it on if we are going to use it on the road.
-
...Some, but not all coaches also charge the chassis batteries from shore power-- don't know whether yours does or not...
My coach charges the chassis batteries, but the charge goes through the coach batteries. The charge must be at least 13.3 volts in order for the coach batteries to let it go to the chassis batteries. If the charge to the coach batteries is less than 13.3, the charge will not go to the chassis batteries...and they will be dead when you want to start the coach. BTDT.

One brief comment...you guys are on a roll...re interior space. For years 5th wheels were known for having more living space. Now that many MHs have full wall slides (FWS) that is no longer true. We've had both.
-
Well, found out its supposed to be loose so it seals against the burner tube. And the burner tube had a hair line crack in it and the swirl chamber was warped and just worn out.
Parts on order
You may have it, Joe, but here's a link to an Aqua Hot forum: http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/activity.php?s=b52d75847efb367edfbc3085cb9d6bfa

FIVE.
The one they used for the 2010 Catalog, 45Y. Chassis December 09', built January 10' !
Carl
Thanks...nice set up.

If it is just the two of you why would you want to haul around a huge grill. The portable Weber's will cook almost all you can eat at one time. Also weigh equals lower MPG.
We have the portable also...takes up lots less space.

Carl, which model 45 Tradition do you have?
-
They have produced excellent results for me. The location in York Haven/ When you roll in there you deal with one service desk, the Techs don't wear different shirts, and my check is always payable to the same company. Not sure about the point that you are making? The outcome is always top shelf. The info you just posted doesn't matter. They fix mechanical things and do it very well.
Not making a point, just pointing out to a member who might need some service that there is no such thing as a "Detroit Diesel Allison Transmission franchise" so he need not waste time looking for one. Sounds like a great place to do business, but most of us are not in your part of the country.

My Blue Ox manual says annual maint should be cutting the strap ties at each end of the rubber covers, lubing the bar and resecuring the covers with new strap ties.
-
pennpowergroup.com looks like a group of independent companies under one roof...with that group, they should be able to fix just about anything. Here's Allison's recent history:
September 1970—Merge with Detroit Diesel Engine to form Detroit Diesel Allison Division, headquarters in Detroit.
December 1987--Detroit Diesel Allison becomes Allison Transmission, Division of General MotorsJune 2007—GM announced that it was selling Allison Transmission to private equity firms The Carlyle Group and Onex Corporation, in a deal valued at $5.6 billion. The transaction closed on August 7, 2007.They are on the stock market as ALSN, trading at $24.88 today. -
BigBen.
Have you checked all the above? Also, is your generator on a slide out in front? I had a Tour 07' that one of the latches had broke off. By the time I could get to a garage, the other one failed and the whole unit came all the way out whenever I stopped! I think I was responsible for a few wet seats in the cars!
Carl
Our last coach had a manual gen slide in the front. I forgot to lock it once, and when the coach stopped...the generator kept going. Fortunately, I had stopped far enough back from the guy in front of us so we did not hit him...think we got his attention though.
-
Tman.
Factory switch? I really trust the guys that wire them together! I had a coach that "OFF" was "ON" and "ON" was "OFF"...fun!
Carl
On the subject of wiring, in our last coach the cruise control on our "smart" wheel was wired backwards. Set/deccel and resume/accel were reversed.

I use the same brand oil in the gen I use in the big engine...they are both diesels...same oil...Rotella 15w40. The "min/cool" mark is where you should fill the new coolant. The make/type of coolant can be confusing...standard or extended life, I'd call Onan on that one.
3" Sewer Hose Connection Not Lining Up With Hole In Floor
in Water and Holding Tanks
Posted · Report reply
This may be a dumb question, but are you sure the sewer pipe coming out from the tank will not swivel? I thought I had the same problem you do, until I was told that plastic end piece will swivel. It only swivels side to side (side of coach to side of coach) it will not swivel longitudinally (front to back of coach). Once I discovered it would move...it is right over the outlet hole in the floor.
