No, didn't even think about FMCA and a discount. We were stranded for 5 1/2 hours while the road service tried to find a tire, any make tire that fit. It seems that 295/80R22.5 tires are primarily for RVs, thus very hard to find even near a big city. When I need more than one tire, I'll give FMCA a call.

Alrohrer...this has been posted on here before...this is what the 'book' says:
Tow rating is the lower of:1. Coach's hitch rating.2. Coach tow rating.3. Chassis tow rating (sometimes different than the coach's).4. The difference in weight between the coach's GCWR and the coach's actual weight when ready to tow. -
We use, two Lasko portable electric heaters and Aqua Hot on electric, then AH on diesel if really cold. Don't use the heat pump much...won't work below 40/45 degrees and is very noisy.

...Look for a Detroit Diesel Allison Transmission franchise...
FYI, DD and Allison parted ways nearly 30 years ago.

When we got our Eagle, I had to call Amer Coach to ask what two switches were on the panel over the door. I was informed they are "scare lights'' two large lights, one on each side, mounted high, mid coach, with a switch for each. The docking lights have not changed, two each side, one near the front and one near the back. To date we have not used either of the lights noted.

FIVE. Was that with the FMCA Fleet?
Carl
What do you mean?

Five.. What was the cause of your blowout.
Roadside assistance thought we ran over some road debris when crossing a small bridge on I 55 just south of Joliet, IL...busiest road with 18 wheelers I've ever seen. Clear, dry, 60 MPH, cruise on.
-
Go on the Weather Channel and look at their average snow fall and temperature. Then do the same for Phenoix and the Texas Valley.
My thinking, winter in the valley and summer in Cody.
Herman
My thinking too.

That is a great price. I had a 295/80R22.5 blowout last May, of course I was a captive audience, but it cost $800.

7mpg at 65? I'll take that any day! I run at 63mph on economy mode. That's 1600 to 1650rpm. Avg. mpg 6.5/7.2. On a 425 Cummins.
Carl
That's your weight, Carl. My ISL routinely got around 8.3 cruising at 60, pulling a toad...GVWR was 34,600.
-
As a side note, there are lots of comments about the V10 at anywhere from 4000 to 5500 RPM. That's one reason the DP is more relaxing to drive. Two years ago we crossed the Continental Divide in a Cummins 400 ISL, it was a quiet and pleasant experience. Ear plugs were not required, we sat back and enjoyed the scenery. In a big gasser, it will not be pleasant and it will not be quiet...BTDT.

We've run into a "how old is it question" before, but never a Class A vs B vs C question.
-
As an alternative to the more expensive diesel Super C, My wife really likes the Georgetown XL, but I'm concerned about the gas V10 and towing up steep hills. Can anyone speak on their experiences?
Get a couple of sets of ear plugs, that V10 will take you up the hill, but it will be screaming.

Yep, just curious.

Five.
I still have a 07' Chevy 2500 with the Duramax and Allison....117,356 miles and no problem. Mine is 4x4 and I have pulled low boy trailers with Cat track dozers and track hoes, horse trailers and pulled stumps with it...best truck/engine combo!
Have not made a comparison, but the 33' Palazzo has a 300 Cummins and 600 pounds of T. I would not buy a Breeze or Palazzo, just saying!
Carl
My '07 Chevy was a dually crew cab with the D/A...pulled a big 5th wheel. Agree that some of the smaller MHs don't have enough engine when using the small Cummins.
-
Yep, they can come across as snobbish and sometimes too protective of the environment...it you get my drift. However, the vehicle ratings don't come from CR, they come from surveys done by the owners. As an owner of two vehicles, I tell them what is good and bad, and what has broken or given me problems.

My recommendation is to go as far away from Lazydays as you can. Run don't walk. We bought a new 2016 coach in January 2016, our 3rd one in 6 years. We were told to pick it up January 30.
Feb 7 we left and drove 30 miles away and parked for night. PROBLEMS started, water leaks amongst other things. Mind you this $500 thousand RV had only been driven from the Indiana factory to Lazydays. Called them, drove back there after much discussion, they told us for another $100,000.00 we could trade it back in for a coach that was $17,000 LESS than ours. Can you say INSULT!!!
Much more talking, but nothing fixed. After another week we have know abandoned our winter Florida vacation only to take this brand new coach back to factory in Indiana so the factory can work on it. (It should never have left the factory in the first place) but at least they say they will make it right. Lazydays will never get another cent from us. In this day of social media, I plan to warn everyone I can about how they abandoned us as soon as we paid. It is unfortunate that I have to do this. It is truly the sales department at LD, not the other employees. I hope things work out for you, but would hate to see another person treated so poorly.
Would you care to share the make and model?

Part of the problem is the engineers who design these things are not RVers and have never spent a night in one. Several years ago, the pres of American Coach was going to initiate a program where the engineers had to go spend a week in an RV they designed. Soon there after, he retired, so I don't know if they started that program. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Wonder why it's so small...smaller than the Cummins in a Ram P/U which uses the 6.7L that's in some smaller MHs. I had an '07 Duramax 6.6L V8 in a Chevy, it had 360 HP and 650 ft/lbs of torque.
-
I wouldn't say no just yet....the jury is still out on HR.

I know there are lots of folks who love their Jeeps...me too, when I was in the Army. April is the "Annual Car Issue" for Consumer Reports. They tested six Jeeps, the ratings for reliability were four "much worse than average" and two "worse than average." One, the Wrangler, had the lowest score I have ever seen...26. Of course there are those that hate CR, but these ratings are based on input given by owners. That is evidenced by the Wrangler getting a "better than average" rating for owner satisfaction.
My guess would be that the number of Jeeps being towed by MHs will increase since the Honda CRV is no longer towable four down.

We are on our third Splendide...two combo units and one stackable. All worked flawlessly. With the combo, the best way to use it is a small load every day or every other day. First thing in the AM, start a load. The stackable is a bit more flexible since you can wash a second load while the first is drying. We would not be without a W/D...so convenient and no sitting for hours in a laundromat...some of which are pretty dirty.

The only time you'll find us out in the cold is when heading south...out of the cold!
-
Sure, the bays are heated, but the cord laying out in the freezing weather is not. I'm not sure even the power cord roller in this Eagle could handle it, but it's nearly impossible to coil by hand when that cold.

How can they say they are the same...two of the three numbers for the tires are different? Where's Tireman9, he can explain it.
