  1. FYI. Tiffin no longer makes appointments for service, you must show up at the service center to get on the schedule. Warranty coaches get priority, however you must go there to get on the list. The shower should not be draining so slowly! Sounds like an obstruction in the drain line.

That makes no sense at all. Some guy buys a $500k bus, lives on the west coast and can't make an appointment to have a serious problem fixed! So he drives to Red Bay and finds out they are booked for a month...then what?

  2. OK, that makes good sense...what about the "little mushroom head caps"?? They are driving me nuts :P more than I already am!

    Carl

The "mushroom head caps" are bungs....http://www.bing.com/search?q=bungs&go=Submit&qs=bs&form=QBLH

I don't glue them, you might need to get to the screw behind the bung. I push it in by hand, then tap it with the butt end of a screw driver. That way it's in there tight enough so that it won't fall out, yet you can still get it out if necessary.

  3. FIVE. I have a Whirlpool Gold, 23cu. ft. Ice/water dispenser in door! Oh, did I mention that I have electric day/night shades on all windows! Like you, I'm up town on the East side! :P:rolleyes::lol:

    Carl

Okay, I just read the earlier posts where you said you are all electric. Your comments about soft ice cream made me think old style refer...don't you run the inverter...no need to fire up the genny?

  4. According to AH, the 400 series uses .4 GPH. Our experience is that the electric element cannot keep up with hot water demand for more than one shower...have to turn on the burner. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, when driving and using the AH for coach heat, if cold, the burner must be on, eng heat is not enough.

As for the heat pump, it works down to about 40...we don't use it much.

  5. The Aqua Hot is a great system, we are have our second unit. Couple of more thoughts to add to Herman's. When running the AH going down the road, it will heat the coach only if it is not too cold. If cold you have to turn the burner on. Also, most of us have the 450 series AH. One of it's shortcomings is that when running the burner for heat, and you turn on a hot water faucet, the heat feature shuts down until the demand for hot water is gone...then the heat resumes its heating. If you have the 600 series AH, it will run both hot water and heat.

Carl...you need to break down and get a residential refer. :)

  6. I was bored and looking through some old threads and found this one...which has a number of incorrect comments. The commissary sells at cost (no tax) plus a 5% surcharge. As for the exchange, if you look around you can find some bargains. Men's high quality clothing is discounted a great deal over what it would be at Dillards, Macy's, etc. Other items savings can be on tax only. Liquor cannot be discounted more that 10% of the amount for which it sells off post/base. Some in congress, and other politicians, want to close both facilities. Profits from the exchange goes to supporting morale and welfare activities.

We shop the commissary when able, not so much the PX/BX.

  7. Probably cold start...from a diesel site:

    Blue smoke:

Blue smoke is caused by engine lubricating oil burning. The oil can enter the combustion chamber from several sources including:

    · Worn valve guides, or seals
    · Cylinder &/or piston ring wear
    · Cylinder glaze
    · Piston ring sticking
    · Incorrect grade of oil .. too thin and getting past rings, or valves guides
    · Fuel dilution of the oil, making it too thin.

Blue smoke is often evident at cold start, which can reflect reduced oil control due to carbon fouling deposits around the piston rings and/or cylinder glaze. Blue smoke should not be evident at any stage.
An engine may burn oil without the evidence of blue smoke, because good compression burns oil quite cleanly, however, it is not acceptable for any new engine, or engine in good internal condition to burn large amounts of lubricating oil.

  8. If you hold the "ctrl" key down and rotate the mouse wheel you can increase or decrease the font depending on which way you rotate it. The font stays as set if you leave and come back another time. The new setting doesn't affect other sites.

There are other ways to do it but this is fast and easy for me to remember.

    Amazing, it works! Thanks.

  9. When I first joined this forum...don't recall when that was...I used to check it every two weeks or maybe even just once a month. It was so long between times I checked in that I used to keep a log to remember what date I was last here, so I would know where to start my new search, This is a good forum with posters providing good information...certainly better then many other forums. I'm glad to see activity has picked up...so much so that I don't keep a log any more!

  10. OK, my Allison is only 3000, have just one bath so 1 macerator toilet. Don't have insta hot water, 8 reg batteries and 2 AGM for engine! Can't

see the extra $200,000! Per the spec sheet, you have a bigger engine and HD Allison!

You and I both have LED lights. I presume you have a dishwasher.

Now that I'm thinking about it...if you have not already done so, find your 2 (one for each toilet) in line 20 amp fuse and make sure they are 20 amp!

Mine was a 15 (marine use) RV is 20. I found mine under the drawer beneath the dishwasher...AC help line had it behind the back panel off toilet!

So now I have a 6"x6" hole covered by a picture of a dog on the throne!

    Carl

Thanks for the tip on the fuse...i'll check it out. Don't have a dishwasher and don't want one. We'd rather have the storage space...besides, my wife has a dishwasher...me.

Probably the option we use the most is the shade/blind/awning package. We use all of them multiple times a day. As for the $200k...half of that is the logo on the side that says, "AMERICAN EAGLE." :D
