  1. Leaving too soon gives us a reason to return. We had the crayfish pizza with spicy white sauce this time. Have to return for the char fry oysters.
  2. I drove 1,000 per day pulling a trailer with my Jeep when I was about 10 years younger. I can do the time but max speed will be 65 mph so will take about 10 hours with a couple rest stops.
  3. I'm going to attempt this navigation tomorrow hopefully arriving before too late. I'm going to call the rv park in the morning about late check in just in case. going to be a long day tomorrow. We will be there till the 23th.
  4. This is our second trip to NO and been to a couple of places you mention. Tomorrow we will be taking the hop on and off bus tour. We going to hop off at least at the cemetery and WWII museum and maybe some of those beignets again.
  5. Left Pensacola this morning and arrive at NAS JRB New Orleans this afternoon. Both the outside of the coach and toad was filthy and tried to find a truck wash but missed it. I got the toad washed after I got it unhooked and had dinner. This RV park is nice and got to watched the Blue Angels practice today. Also got to meet Tom Johnson part owner of the Green Bay Packers. We will be here until the 20th hopefully with no more issues. I didn't have a chance to call the Cummins Onan dealer yet. Thank all of you for your time and advice.
  6. After installing the Norcold gizmo all worked fine until the generator. I did some maintenance involving loose screws and replace step carpet. DW is keeping me on my toes so she is doing alright.
  7. As soon I call the Cummins Onan shop Monday I will ask them.
  8. The transfer switch is fine as I didn't have voltage at the generator. I checked the breaker and flipped it on and off. I checked all the screws at the transfer switch when I had the cover off. I need to take a large cover off to see more in the front of the generator.
  9. I was dry camping in Key West and it went out after a couple of days. Engine ran fine not blinking codes had no voltage coming out of the generator connectors under the small right front cover. I flipped the breaker on left front and got nothing. Yes I believe that it a relay or board. I don't know what cover to take off to see where the smoke came out.
  10. Arrived in Pensacola last night and ended up jammed tight between trees with only 30 arms and water. We barely have room to park the toad. It was hot and DW wanted to nuke some food so I started the generator to see if it will work. Not only did it work, it handle both AC and microwave at the same time. Anybody have a idea what kept the generator from producing electric for two days? We will be here for a few days then I have to figure how to unpark this thing without taking down any trees.
  11. Hello we are now in Ft Myers and leaving for Pensacola in the morning. When we got here a few days ago DW told me to start the generator and it will work and it did. I had to explain about intermittent problems and it will not work when we need it and we need to stick to shore power. I like the idea of stopping of recommended Cummins dealers but not if we will have days lost in a shop. If I knew if the fix was simple that's fine but it could be the main windings and that could take awhile. I could just as well wait until we get home and send to a local to me Cummings dealer. I just hope we don't need to use it on the way home. I will keep all updated when I can as I don't alway ha internet that works.
  12. OK I gave in and rented a 2000 watt generator. I couldn't hook it directly to the coach because the coach protection device sense a open ground from the generator. I was smart enough the bring a extension cord with 3ends and a battery charger. Now to charge the battery till quiet time then use for breakfast tomorrow morning.
  13. Thanks I will try them but not dry camping as generator is not working.
  14. No fault code as light on panel is solid and engine run's fine.
  15. I don't have Onan service book but I think a fuse may be under the panel.
  16. I checked power output right at the generator and transfer switch. No power to either one. I flipped the breaker off and on at the generator and still no power. I haven't checked the breaker itself as there is a panel that has to be removed.
  17. Ran into our first big problem this morning. DW started to make coffee and the generator quit producing voltage. There is no voltage coming from generator and I flipped the breaker switch. We had lost of power last night but it reset itself in a few moments. Thought we heard a thump when it did it but maybe engine change speed. It is a Onan Quiet Diesel 8000 that was very reliable until now. Does anybody have a idea what could be wrong or how to fix it. If needs Cummins Onan service I have XtraRide.
  18. If all else fails NAPA sells slide glide in a tube. I use it on automobile sticky power window tracks and it works everytime.
  19. You are correct with the military link but most gives local numbers. I'm learning and now hooking up to Navy Getaways toll free number. They book and keep your cc on file then email you the reservation. Still looking for better AFB and Army fam camp links. I'm now have reservations up to New ORLEANS and we be traveling through Texas on I-10 afterwards.
