  1. Brett, would you discuss soft cruise please. It's a term that I'm not too familiar with.
  2. Wow....that had to make your day! Glad you got her out alright.
  3. For brakes, I use the SMI Stay-in-Play Duo on my toad (07 Cadillac CTS). The AirForce One also gets top reviews. I like the SMI Stay-in-Play Duo because it's easy to use. Install once and it's just a matter of flipping a switch to on and it's ready to go -- no box in front seat floorboard, no attachment to brake pedal to set up and take down....just a really nice unit.
  4. Either Blue Ox or Roadmaster provide excellent products. I don't think you'd go wrong with either one of them. I use the Roadmaster set up and have been quite pleased.
  5. Why not drive the coach to see how it handles, then consider what you might need to correct anything in the ride you think needs addressed?
  6. Indeed, I only have a single 50 amp outlet and will likely upgrade that box to include the 20 amp outlet and breakers.
  7. I flat tow a 2007 Cadillac CTS using a Remco lube pump kit. Works fine. Initial cost to set up the car is higher and it is not transferable to a new car -- downside. Kit runs about $900 plus installation. Part of the kit is installed on the car and part on the motorhome.
  8. Do it right the first time....50 amp
  9. Thanks NCB ... yes, I'm on IRV2, as well as a Yahoo group dedicated to Country Coach owners. We're very pleased with our purchase. As with any used coach, there are items that need to be fixed or addressed, but it sure beat the 2015 Newmar (price wise) that we liked. Alas, the lottery didn't pan out Having just returned for our little shake down cruise, I remember some of Brett's comments and threads regarding using Economy mode with the Allison transmission and some other good posts that I want to go back are reread now that I've had her on the road. Wish the timing of the Diesel Club seminar fit my schedule better, but I'll catch one soon, I'm sure.
  10. Nice meeting you, even if it was brief as you were warming up and pulling out.
  11. On the shakedown cruise as I type. Couple of nights at 7 Feathers. So far, replaced a couple of fuses to fix the no dash fan and a light, realigned the Fantastik fan gears so it would automatically open, figured out that the bathroom fan has a stripped gear, but all in all, nothing major. Will have to fix/repair a leaking windshield washer reservoir and tighten up some latches on the bay doors. Need to get the Remco monitor installed so we can pull the toad. Trying to figure out the best places to put different things. Working out the systems that were different from our previous coach......Oh the joys of ownership. I love it!
  12. Well, picked the coach up today and said goodbye to our faithful Seneca. I think I knew more about motor homes than the guy giving me the walk-through. Got a lot to learn about Class A DPs though. Quite a change from a FRED Super C. Lots of new things to play with and learn how they work. Loading her up tomorrow to take a short trip to Seven Feathers campground Sunday for the shake down cruise.
  13. Check with Remco ... .... I was able to rig a FWD Cadillac to be towed 4 wheel down
  14. And welcome to RVing and FMCA Forums!
  15. Search is over Herman....we bought this one. (hence "new to us" )
  16. Tires are about 2-3 years old. One of the things I checked on every unit we considered. Thanks for the info on the fluid analysis. Will take a look into it.
  17. Would love to attend and will get to one eventually...sadly, the timing isn't good for me to make either event. Will definitely be keeping my eye out for future seminars that come up.
  18. Trading in our Jayco Seneca 35GS on a 2006 Country Coach Inspire 360 DaVinci Friday! So stoked! Been looking at DPs for months and months and finally found this one. 55K miles on it, but clean as a whistle. While the Jayco had a Duramax diesel, really looking forward to learning more about Caterpillar power plants. This one hosts a C9 400 HP engine. The coach rides like it's on a cloud and is very well equipped. Fairly new tires on it, so won't have a big outlay of money right away on those! Don't have any pics of it yet.
  19. Try http://www.m4products.com/ I replaced all of my incandescent bulbs with lights from M4 and all of my florescent tubes with led lights from http://www.cabinbright.com/. Very pleased with both companies and products they supplied.
  20. Have you tried contacting them by phone or email?
  21. Interesting Toney ... we're looking to go from the Seneca to a Class A DP ... I like the Seneca, but looking for some of the comforts of the class A (cabin comfort and quiet front end)
  22. Sounds like a good time to replace the fluorescent with LED. Take a look at Cabin Bright. I replaced all of my overhead fluorescents with Cabin Bright LED. Easy change using existing fixture. Much brighter!
  23. Install a charge line to your toad battery.
  24. Welcome to FMCA and RVing!
