  1. Update; the BF Goodrich ST230 in a 12R22.5 is a closer match in height and width, and its much more price attractive. So now I will be 1.1" taller and .5" narrower, and with respect to weight carrying capacity I am loosing 160 lbs on the steer axle and gaining 100 lbs on the drive axle. Which isn't a concern as the tires when calculated are over my axle GVWR rating, which is a positive. The 12R22.5 should be much more accessible if I should need one on the road. Expert thoughts?
  2. Still tossing this around. I am considering switching to a different size so if I should need a tire on the road one would be readily available. Well I am striking out. I considered switching to a 315/80R22.5 but my wheels are 8.25" wide and will not accommodate the 315/80R22.5. I thought about a 12R22.5 which will fit on my wheels but is 1.3" taller and .4" narrower. Tireman, any thoughts?
  3. notlookingback, Welcome to the FMCA forum! Have you checked the interior for 120volts i.e. does the microwave work? Check circuit breakers (in the coach and on the Inverter if equipped) and your GFI electrical outlets inside, one could be tripped and those could be down stream. Someone else will chime in soon as this area is not one of my strong areas.
  4. What new faucet? That is from 2013 . Scroll up, bmillers faucet isn't new.
  5. Kay Carl, I do keep them very clean! One day she was watching tv in the reflection, I laughed and said, look the do have a purpose. Her response was quick and priceless. "So do you that's why you are still around, once they are gone I'm taking your seat so you can turn around" Me; nope, I will install another TV, she laughed, It will be one that looks like a picture frame
  6. Taxes in PA are simple 6% at time of purchase. Done! registration annually $121.00 PA State inspection, annually $69.00 i wanted to register the coach in the business, to many problems come from that listed above. I asked my attorney about starting another small company to use the coach as a write off, he told me to put the Matches down before I get burned and walk away. You would have a hard time explaining how you are paying or paid for something of that magnitude from $0 income. But to each his own.
  7. King, you might want to ask and revisit them if for nothing else for price of mind to make sure they didn't miss something. You would have to prove your LLC makes no money and to be honest a business is a business, I wore that hat once, I wouldn't care one bit, your registration card tells it all. On the side of the road they will not care if your business passes out flowers for free on the side of the road or you own a Fortune 500 company. The registration card comes back to a business and that is all they will know. Non profit organizations also have DOT numbers, CDL's, log books etc... At the end of the day you will be fined on the roadside, you can explain that to the Judge as it is your right and if they let it go great. keep in mind on the side of the road it is what it is, beyond that it's up to the judge and you to prove your case. happy trails
  8. YUP, she has been bugging me since we bought it.
  9. If I thought for one second that would work in my favor I would register the coach in my business's name. But plastering a DOT number, IFTA stickers, carrying a Log book and apportioned tags on our coach...no way. I have a CDL and medical card now, that's enough. I did see a Class A DP with that set up last year at a weight station, guess he learned the hard way. That sparked a big conversation with my DW on why we didn't have to stop and how all of that works.
  10. Well, that might avoid one problem and create another mess, big mess I live every single day, copied this from another post; If you run any kind of business from your RV (traveling to car shows to sell Model A parts), you are in fact a real CMV and will need DOT authority, medical card, full CDL, logbooks and apportioned plates etc. And remember, a CMV is any vehicle used in commerce over 10,000 lbs registered weight that crosses a state line and if within the state ( PA), anything over 17,000 lbs. So a 15,000 lb Class B MH which is used in any kind of commercial enterprise that goes out of state is a CMV and will need everything except a CDL and apportioned tags. Yes, a medical card is needed for all CMV's even if a CDL is not a requirement. So if the coach registration card is in a business name you are now a Commercial Motor Vehicle and have it on ink to prove it. Depending on the GVWR of the Coach + Toad if the two total over 10,000 lbs......OUCH, no thanks!
  11. We are headed to Hershey this year. DW was upset we didn't go last year. Its so close we just drive up for the day in the toad and wander around.

    Hi There!

April and Scott Welcome! My wife and I are Sometimers also
  13. bmiller260, remove the screws and take a look inside. If nothing of any use put it back on. Do you have cold water elsewhere in the coach? If so I would suspect a defective faucet. If you decide to change it yourself pay special attention to the O-rings at the connection on the hose portion, if they are cut or worn replace them. I have found them at Home Depot, a house toilet hose has the same O-ring, you will have to buy the hose and take the O-ring out. I have never been able to locate those loose without buying a hose to take them off of. RV dealers will tell you they have to replace the crimped connection fitting but you really do not have to. Most manufactures have an access panel behind a faucet on the wall for access to replace it or repair it if its wall mounted. Just make sure you turn off the water supply, pump and open your low point drains in the event you need to replace or remove the faucet water hoses. If anyone knows where to purchase the faucet connection O-rings please post it. I carry a toilet hose from a house just in case I get a water leak, and its happened in the past unexpectedly.
  14. Air Force one system has a cylinder that mounts inside the vehicle with a cable that is connected to your brake pedal, and from the price I saw its pretty salty. It doesn't compare to the M&G at all as Air Force One has components in side the car and has a computer under the hood. M&G has neither.
  15. They are very well insulated, in the photos (mine and Herman's) the access panels for service are removed, normally you would see just a box with the logo on it.
  16. Bill, if his is like ours that manifold supplies the coach with water to each faucet. what you cant see is the other side is Blue Pex for the cold side. You might be able to see it better in my photo, especially since my top cold and hot are disconnected (they went to the washer/dryer). I agree with a ceramic heater or two back there, maybe one in the bay with there the tanks are and one in the actual wet bay. they are the same bay but there is a wall blocking off the valve area. Herman mentioned how to open the door not equipped with a handle, you can route the wires up over the wall to your right into the bay photo'd above, and maybe to the next bay to plug it in via the Aqua hot access doors.
  17. Thanks Brett! I have considered installing one, but lived so long without not sure if it would be a waste of time and money. That's a lot larger than the ones I looked at.
  18. Herman, what is the blue tank above? I like that setup with the filters, mine had one under the kitchen sink (everpure)on the cold line, I removed it and connected the hoses together. We do not drink the water or cook with the water that comes in. I carry a portable filter and place it outside on the water line into the coach, having them built in would be nice. I have this one on a stand I sit outside. https://www.amazon.com/Hydro-Life-52141-HL-200-External/dp/B002UC8SIW I may look into plumbing one into the system, but locating the common line that serves city and tank could be a task, maybe two, one for each line?
  19. Agreed! This post gave me an opportunity to speak to Ray on the phone while he was 15 minutes from our home visiting family over the holidays.
  20. Herman, you beat me by 14 minutes and saved me some typing. Tracey, in your coach near the inverter panel area or anyplace there are switches for the slides (ours are up front 1st cabinet behind the passenger seat) do you see a switch labeled "SYSTEM HEAT". I am pretty sure it was an option but if you do have it see if its turned on (there should be a red light next to the switch), and if you open the bay Herman mentioned above with the tanks, look for a manual thermostat (nothing more than a small dial and a brass tube coming out of the side of the knob). That controls tank heaters and (if equipped) any heater tucked away in the wet bay, just because you do not see it doesn't mean its not there. Herman, what filters are you referring to? The one at the pump in the photo below?
  21. Mypopslou, congratulations I hope everyone is well! I can say from experience from a 2013 trip out I-10 to CA with our last coach with propane it's much harder to locate then Diesel. On a two week trip in the winter we used 120 gallons of LPG and the average night temperature was 15. We didn't have a cold weather option on that unit and I struggled to locate propane to keep the furnace on. I guess how the coach is insulated and if the AH is working properly will play a huge part on your overall fuel consumption.
  22. Herman, that would be interesting to hear. Thank you
