Our Holiday Travel Misadventure-- So Far

Puff, return the Rand McNally GPS if you can. If you want one that bad Ill give you mine, but caution its about as useless as......a wheel chock for guidance. To make matters worse the companies support is horrible. Maybe....maybe you will be the 1% that it actually works correctly for. -
I would look up a local Aqua Hot authorized repair facility and stop in ASAP to have that fixed. Not sure what model you have but it sounds like a zone pump is not working. Were you able to locate a switch inside labeled "system heat"?
-
Tracey, I would replace the pump and see if you can get parts for the cracked one to keep it as a spare. There is no fixing them with epoxy. I had a friend try it in a travel trailer. His pump was mounted in the kitchen, it failed again and we noticed it when water was running out the door . Lucky for him I carried a spare at the time. I would purchase two small ceramic heaters and plug them in down in the bay. One in the wet bay and one in the cavity where the tanks are, just in case the temperatures drop again, just make sure they are pointed away from any object. Usually the walls have openings you could toss extension cords through to the tank and wet bey area. Carl the pump in the coach when they bought it didn't work.

Nitehawk, I have considered placing one near the vents on the rear of the coach where the air exits the engine bay.
-
Bill, that's too bad, some people...
-
Bill, we haven't seen the exterior photos yet of the new paint.
-
They need a show like that on TV. Fixing up RVs. But more down to earth unlike the last one.
-
the face you make when you can't reply the way you want to.
-
Bill I have through about wrapping the exhaust after the turbo to cut the heat down. Good to know it actually works to lower the temperature in the bedroom.
-
Yea, when I saw it last year I was shocked. The lower one looks good, paint peeling but otherwise ok. It has a part number on it. I might call the manufacturer Monday and see if I can get one. If not I will make it in Stainless.

Note the rubber sections, looks like fuel fill hose.

Here is the tube that needs replaced. This is the upper radiator hose.

Haha . -
Mike, when you get it weighed or the alignment makes sure its loaded as you would normally operate it. I suspect they are going to tell you the alignment was out. All chassis manufactures that I have crossed in my career recommend having an alignment performed after the body (in you case the house) is installed, as it makes the chassis and suspension flex the weight distribution changes on the chassis and knocks out the alignment that was set at the chassis plant. In my experience only Ambulances have this done, everything else is usually way out when put on an alignment machine.

Mypopslou, by definition the manual states there is an failure of an emissions control device and to call for service.
-
Its odd he has a stage one and two switch. I have heard of some odd things in the industry like dual exhaust brakes so seal it up tighter and I also read where they use the VGT turbo as stage one and the combination of the turbo and butterfly on the pipe as stage 2. But on an RV? beschmidtke what year make and model coach do you have?
-
Are you sure an ISC has a Compression brake? Can you snap a photo of the engine to include the valve cover?
-
Neat set up Bill!
-
Yep, we use Rotella T5 at work, 10W30 Diesel in everything.
-
Not sure a hydraulic hose store with have an O-ring shaped liked this (larger plastic hose connection)
-
Carl, depends on what wheel the coach was built with, some are 9" wide and others (like ours) are 8.25" wide. I called REV got the wheel part number then called Accuride (wheel manufacture) and got the specs for the wheel. Since none of the tire manufactures recommend installing a 315/80R22.5 on a 8.25" wheel I am not going to chance it.

Interesting topic "how many miles in one day". I met a fellow FMCA member a few years ago in Williams AZ. When I told him I was driving 800 miles a day he laughed. He explained to me that he was a member of the 10/250 club. On the road by 10 and at the next stop by 2, no more than 250 miles . Nice guy can't remember his name but I still laugh about that. -
I am planning on purchasing the BF Goodrich ST230. Pricing was fantastic and I had my tire supplier run a search nation wide on 12R22.5 and they were readily available. Now the 315/80R22.5 had more available but that would require a wheel change (not going to happen) and my stock size 295/80R22.5 almost none, just small pockets, they are expensive and have to be ordered in. Another problem only limited companies produce this size. Since they are slightly narrower spacing will not be an issue.

Makes sense. Any new updates?
