  1. Well, I haven't been able to get the device at all, so at least you have some hardware in your hands. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is a "Promo Code" for the Jetpack 7730L? Almost every Verizon rep I have talked to has asked me what the Promo Code is for this offer.
  2. Thanks to Mr. Ball at FMCA! He will be getting in touch with his Verizon contact to assist me in straightening out the Jetpack issue.
  3. Well, I spoke too soon. This has gotten even worse. When I got the confirmation email on the jetpack that is being shipped out, it is an older model. Not only that, it is used. When I called Verizon back, they told me they can't stop the shipment of this unit, and there is no way they will send me the 7730L for a penny. I need some help from FMCA. I am getting nowhere with Verizon. No one I have talked to there knows anything about the FMCA plan with the mifi for a penny. Surely someone at FMCA has a contact with someone at Verizon that can help get this straightened out? Also, no one at Verizon seems interested in the FMCA program profile ID number 4273588 that is on the FMCA instruction pdf file.
  4. Sweet Success at last!!! After 2 hours on the phone with 4 different reps, I finally have the jetpack ordered and on the way! It should arrive Monday!
  5. I spoke to Verizon this morning, and gave the rep the Plan ID 11454 number. She was able to change my plan over to the FMCA plan, but could not help with the Jetpack for a penny. I was transferred to another department to help with the jetpack issue, and they didn't know anything about the FMCA plan and couldn't help with the jetpack for a penny. I am eligible for an upgrade due to length of my existing plan, but they want to charge a $40 activation fee for the new jetpack. That's not part of the FMCA deal is it? Aaarrrgh!!!!! I just went online to see if the jetpack is available now that my plan has been changed, and they now want $199 for the jetpack!!!!
  6. Warren, since you are a current Verizon customer (as I also am), I would be very interested in how your sign up with the new FMCA plan turns out. Please post an update if you do the sign up for the FMCA plan.
  7. Update on my situation: I received the email from Verizon that my existing account has been registered for a discount program. However, when I called the 800-922-0204 number to add the FMCA mobile hotspot offer to my account, the rep didn't know anything about the FMCA program, and neither did his supervisor. I'll wait a couple of days and try again. Maybe by then Verizon will have disseminated the plan info down to it's service reps.
  8. Thanks again Kristarose for your assistance here on the forum, and over the phone. With your help, I was able to get my existing Verizon account registered through the portal, and am now waiting for the confirmation email from Verizon.
  9. Thanks for the reply, Kristarose. In my case, I was able to complete the registration form on the Verizon website, but I got an email from Verizon that said: Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless. We have received your order; however, this transaction cannot be processed because your information already exists in our system. Please place this order as an existing customer by going to My Verizon. At this time, your credit card has not been charged and we will hold your order for 7 days from today's date. You can contact the Credit and Order Review Team at 866-338-7390 if you have any questions. However, there is no option to place an order for the FMCA program when I log into my account.
  10. It would be helpful if the FMCA person in charge of this program would post explicit instructions on how existing Verizon customers can sign up. Just giving a Verizon phone number doesn't help when the Verizon people that answer the phone are clueless about the program or how to sign up for it. What do I do if I am already a Verizon Customer on a different plan? To receive this deal you will need to complete the online registration process first. Once you have completed the online registration you should contact Verizon with any special requests/instructions regarding combining existing plan(s) and offer(s). Verizon customer service can be reached by calling (800) 922-0204 or *611 from your mobile phone.
  11. Still appears that there problems with this new roll out. I am an existing Verizon customer, and after going through the FMCA link to the Verizon offer and filling out the multiple pages on the signup forms, I got an email from Verizon that told me my order could not be processed because I am an existing customer. Per the info on the FMCA website, it said that existing customers should call a Verizon number, which I did. I spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon, and they had no idea what this FMCA deal was. The rep I spoke with was in contact with several departments, and couldn't find anyone who knew anything about it, or how to get me signed up. So far, this is not turning out very well.
  12. Hopefully, this ballot will be publicized enough that a significant portion of the membership votes. It would be a shame if there were only a relatively few ballots cast from the membership on an issue this important. It's sad that this is even being brought up for vote. My NO vote ballot went in the mail last week. Almost everyone I know has also sent in a NO vote. I do hope the proposal is voted down. But, my wishes are just that. Wishes. I hope most of the members cast their ballots, and then the club can proceed in the direction that most of the members want it to go.
  13. Ian, no I don't. Didn't realize there was one. I'll get it now! Thanks!
  14. I'm a full timer, so I don't have a driveway to wash mine in. I have to use Blue Beacon when I can find one, or wash it at parks where they let you do that. There aren't many of those. We are on a tour of western states right now, and there are not many opportunities to wash the coach. Back east, we could wash at most state parks, but up here in the Dakotas, Wyoming, and Montana, the state parks and COE's don't even have water hookups at the sites. And, when we run across road construction out here, they don't just rip up one lane at a time, they rip up the whole road for several miles at a stretch. To keep the dust down, they have water trucks that soak the unpaved road. That makes for a mud road for several miles, which causes a very dirty coach. Wish I could find a truck wash out here!
  15. I get the magazine electronically. I'm a full timer, and have eliminated all paper magazines. I hope I'll be able to send in a ballot printed from the pdf version of the magazine.
  16. Florida Grande in Webster is very nice with large concrete pads and manicured lawns. Just a few miles away south of Bushnell is the Escapee's Sumter Oaks, which is more rustic and much less expensive.
  17. I was one of the 5000 who got the email about the plan from FMCA, and was in the "beta test" group of existing members. I waited a couple of days before clicking the link and filling out the online form, and then it was a couple of days more before I got a call from FMCA to get my billing info. At that time, the rep told me the June shipment allotment had already been filled, but I was scheduled to receive my hotspot when they shipped the July allotment on the 21st. I was planning on cancelling my existing verizon hotspot plan, and may have done so before it renewed for another month if I had been in the June shipment group. If I had cancelled my current Verizon plan, I would not have been able to go back and get the same data only plan from Verizon, as my plan is no longer offered. This makes me think there may be some number of FMCA members that may have cancelled an existing data plan in anticipation of the FMCA plan they had signed up for, and now are left in a situation where they can't get back to a plan with at least as much unthrottled data at the same cost as they had before switching to the now defunct FMCA plan. Seems like there could be a population of folks that have suffered actual damages as a result of Verizon pulling the plug, and those people may well make up a group that would be eligible for a class action.
  18. Our Discovery came with a propane oven and range. My wife had it removed, and replaced with a dishwasher and True Induction range. She uses the microwave convection oven exclusively. It does a great job as a regular oven. It serves us well as full timers.
  19. While we have been traveling the past few days, it seems that every Gander Mountain store we have come across have big "Store Closing" signs up. We went into one today (Montgomery, AL), and everything was for sale at 20 - 50 percent off. Even the store fixtures were for sale. I wonder if Camping World is closing them down to open more CW store fronts? Or just closing down unprofitable locations?
  20. We were in a campground in Walterboro, NC, along I-95. The kitchen sink was clogged, and my wife plunged it (using a rubber jar opener, since we didn't have a plunger). Whatever was clogging the sing drain went down into the gray tank. When I tried to empty the gray tank, the outlet drain there was clogged. We had a full tank, and it would not discharge. Our next door neighbor was [nickname for Richard] (didn't catch his last name), who is a VP of one of the FMCA chapters. He was traveling alone in an American Eagle from his winter Florida abode to his home in upstate New York. He just happened to have a gizmo that connects to a sewer connection with a garden hose inlet. I used it to do a forced backflush on the grey water tank, and that cleared the clog! Thanks ****! I thought you would be easy to find online, but couldn't locate your info on the Fmca website. Hope to meet up with you again down the road! Mike and Retha ETA: His name rhymes with Rick, but starts with a D. Apparently the site software won't allow his real name to be published here.
