You might try unplugging and plugging the harness on the board quickly a number of times. That could remove some corrosion that might be preventing it from working properly.

I replaced our Dometic 311 with the same when the first one crapped out. (pun intended). It was quite easy.

Have you ever been given credit where you didn't have to give your SSN?

You should really go have a beer at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. You never know who you might run into there.

I've got a couple of bags of Valterra Stackers, otherwise known as the Lego pads. They have held up well under my jacks, with up to 11,000# on each stack on the back jacks. They do need a solid surface under them, though. On gravel, the bottoms can get chewed up, so I put them on a section of 2x12 board.

PS: Your post got me thinking about our upcoming trip. We are staying at a COE park near Nashville next month, so I just booked 2 tickets for the General Jackson show boat lunch cruise.

We enjoyed the General Jackson riverboat cruise. They have a dinner and music show. We liked the show more than the Grand Ole Opry. The food was pretty good, as well. And, you shouldn't miss the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Music Row. Be sure to stop in at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and see where the big stars hang out on occasion. They usually have live music going on at all hours. We usually stay at the Grand Ole RV Park when we visit Nashville. Much less expensive than the downtown parks.

What's the downside of chassis battery disconnect?
chindog replied to m1lan0's topic in Type A motorhomes
I'm also interested in this, as I need to replace my chassis batteries. I'm worried what might go wrong when I take them out, drive a couple of hours to purchase new batteries, spend a couple more hours shopping, and then a couple more hours back to the coach before installing the new batteries. -
FMCA campground closed during snowbird return season?
chindog replied to raypesek's topic in Campgrounds
We had reservations there that were made months ago. I was disappointed when we got an email saying our reservations were cancelled. The reason given was just "campground renovations". Good to know exactly what is going on. -
Pebbles on your leveler pads won't cause the alarm issue. Low fluid will. It may only take a very small amount of fluid to stop the issue.

I thought my water pump was about to go out a few years ago. I bought a spare so I'd have it on hand when it did go bad. I'm still carrying that spare around.

Maybe... I have a dental appointment on Wednesday to get a tooth pulled, and it depends on how that turns out if I am doing well enough to drive down to Tampa. -

We are in Sumter Oaks now. In fact, we have spent winters here for the past 5 years, and really like the park. It has many spots that are shaded by large oak trees (hence the name). Sites are generally spacious. There are many scheduled activities during the Nov - April season. We just got back from the weekly dinner in the activity center. Great home cooked food for $8/person. Other activities include poker nights, pokeno nights, ice cream socials, excersize and dance classes, holiday parties, music jams, craft classes, and various group outings to nearby attractions. Last year, the electrical wiring in the 30 amp half of the park was upgraded to 50 amp. Also, wifi was installed a couple of years ago, and is operated by Tengo Internet, a paid service. There is a free low bandwidth version available for park guests. -

Question about the Alcatel Linkzone2
chindog replied to twotwistedlimes's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
After several swelled batteries on hotspots, I now use a timer plugged into the 120v outlet. I've got it set for 2 to 4 hours a couple of times each day. Seems to be working so far. -

Thanks Herman! I still have the old FMCA Verizon account with 25 gigs of high speed. I think I'll cancel that and move to the new FMCA T-Mobile plan.
-
I see on the FMCA website FAQ for the Tech Connect plan, it does not include 5G. Does that mean that with a 5G hotspot, you can only get 4G?

On my Discovery, the receiver is under the dash, in the center, on the floor.

Sprint Hotspot battery swelling
chindog replied to mfinnesgard's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
This is also what we do. Many timers only let you program one on and off per day. We got one that can be programmed with multiple sessions each day. I've got it programmed for one or two hours on and off during the day, and off all night long when there is no usage. -
We bought the La Crosse Technology C83100-INT WiFi professional weather station about 9 months ago. We had high hopes for it, as it was wifi connected, and we could check the weather at the coach when we were out and about. It would even let us know what the temp and humidity was inside the coach in real time. It worked well for a couple of months, then it just quit working. The wifi connection became increasingly sporadic, and finally wound up udating only once every day or two, instead of continuously. After doing some research, I found that this issue was a known problem with this unit. I went through the reset procedures specified on the manufacturers website many times. It didn't work. They had a contact email (wouldn't take phone calls) to report the problem. They said they would replace your defective unit after you filled out a detailed online form. Filled out the form, and no replacement came. No contact, either. Money down the drain. Don't buy this unit, as it does not work as advertised. It will, however, still work to relay data from the outdoor sensors to the monitor in the coach. As to the mounting of the outdoor sensors, I pound a 4' piece of rebar partially in the ground, and put a 6' length of 1" PVC pipe over it. Mounted on the pipe is the wind sensor and the rain gauge. When moving from site to site, it's quite easy to pull up the rebar, and transport the pipe and mounted sensors in the basement of the coach.

I've got CoachNet premium. It's $169, and that's the same as last year. I think it went up from $159 the previous year. I usually get an email with a discount of about $10 if I renew early. First year membership is more expensive, I believe about $249, but renewals are now $169. These are motorhome rates. Rates for towables are less.
