The headlights at that link are pretty expensive. For my coach, they want $330 for a pair. I happen to know that these headlights are the same as a GMC Yukon, and are only $135 for the pair on Amazon.

No state taxes listed on the bill, just a $.02 regulatory charge and a $.06 "administrative charge" .

My total monthly bill is $50.07, including all taxes. Of course, the location of the subscriber has a lot to do with that. We are residents of Florida.

For us, the FMCA Verizon plan works very well. The 25GB/mo is just about what we use for our laptops. We don't stream videos or play games online, just the normal email and internet surfing. It is rare that we exceed the limit, and when we do it's usually because of a Windows update. We use Consumer Cellular for our cell phones, and have a 3GB data plan for them, which we hardly ever exceed. But for the computers, our FMCA/Verizon hotspot bill is just $50 and change each month, and is less expensive than any other plan on the market that we can get.

It's not just the wiring that is a hassle when changing from one toad to another. There is also the brake piston, and the cable to the brake pedal, which on my toad is mounted under the panel under the drivers side door, with the cable running under the carpet to the pulley behind the brake pedal.

The Honey Pot Eatery, on the property of Bee's RV Resort in Clermont, FL is pretty famous in this area. They only serve dinner on Tuesday and Friday (and now seasonally on Thursday) from 4 to 7pm. It's an all you can eat buffet, with a fixed menu and a fixed price of $10. On Tuesday it's fried chicken. On Friday it's fried fish. And on Thursday it's pot roast and pork loin. Crowds gather, and you can expect to wait in line for an hour if you don't get there early.

In Vicksburg, River Town Campground is good. It's all pull throughs, so you don't have to unhook for an overnight stay.

Holy Cow! 90 GB is huge! Since we've been on the road for the past 3 years, I don't think we've ever gone over 25GB. Of course, we don't stream any movies or TV shows, and keep the cat videos on youtube to a minimum. Although, back when we had the sticks and bricks, I think we used to use somewhere in the vicinity of 250 - 300 GB/mo. But when we went full time, we went on a data diet.

I'm not sure about Medicare supplemental insurance, but pre-Medicare insurance premiums differ by county. So, you may want to not only consider your state domicile, but also which county within the state. In Florida, you have at least 4 domicile mail forwarding services to choose from. Escapees in Bushnell, Saint Brendon's Isle in Jacksonville, Traveling Mailbox in Tallahassee, and MyRVmail in Crestview. You may want to research the cost if insurance premiums for each of those locations when making your decision.

Herman, what satellite dish do you have? The hopper is not compatible with my (obsolete) Roadtrip Mission, and my dish has started to misbehave occasionally. If I have to replace it, I'd like the option to use a hopper.

I've got the X2 and use a couple of VIP211Z receivers with it. Like others have said, if you use the 2 receiver option when setting up, the dish only points to satellite 72. But, if you set up as one receiver, then hook up the primary cable to the 2nd receiver and set it up as one receiver, you can then plug a cable from the secondary output on the X2 to the 2nd receiver, and watch whatever channel you want as long as it's on the same satellite as the primary receiver is pointed toward. I bought the X2 so we could get reception when our rooftop dish is blocked by trees. When we do have a view of all 3 satellites with the rooftop dish, the X2 comes in handy as the primary dish for our 2nd receiver. Then we can watch or record shows on different satellites at the same time.

When I joined FMCA a couple of years ago, it was because I wanted to be part of an organization that was geared toward motorcoaches. After having owned a few pull behinds, I had joined Good Sam's many years ago. But after I bought my coach, I needed an organization for my type of RV and joined FMCA. When I first heard of the proposal to change FMCA to allow non-motorhomes, I was very much opposed. I'm not a member of any FMCA chapters, and as a fulltimer I get the FMCA magazine online, but rarely look at it. So, it was late in the process when I heard about the change. I did my best to convince my fellow coach owning FMCA members to vote against the proposal to change the core meaning of the organization. And, for what it was worth, just about everyone I spoke with agreed with me that the change was a bad idea, and they also voted NO. Then the results of the vote came in. The numbers were shocking to me. Out of about ~71k members, only ~10k voted. Of the ~10k that voted, about 1/3 agreed with me. That is about 4% of the membership that was thinking like me. 4%. Let that sink in for a moment. Apathy is a sad thing, but those people who didn't vote had ample opportunity. They simply chose to not vote. Of the members who did vote, a resounding majority felt they wanted to change the direction of their club. It's not my club. I don't own it. I am just one member of the whole. So I came to the logical conclusion that the vast majority of the club I belong to wanted a change of direction. How can I be mad at what most of the active membership wants to do? I can't. I just accept it. I am still a part of this club, and this vote won't change that. I just had to accept that what the club decided to do was not what I was expecting, and just because it's not what I wanted, it's not the end of the world. So, I am over my mad. I'm not frothing at the mouth and stomping away in anger. I am at peace again. And I still have my F#, and will probably be joining a chapter soon.

Yes, I do have a separate phone plan, but not with Verizon. I have a phone plan with Consumer Cellular, and we pay $52/mo for 2 phone lines with unlimited talk and text, and 3GB of data. That's with the geezer discount (AARP). Our phones connect over the AT&T network, as Consumer Cellular subleases from them, as well as T-Mobile. The network your phone connects to depends on what SIM card you have. So, for just a little over $100/mo, we have 25GB of internet data on the Verizon plan (and I can connect my phone to that MiFi if my data usage on Consumer Cellular is running low), plus 3GB for the phones only. The computers connected to the Verizon MiFi use a lot more data than the phones, maybe because my wife doesn't watch a lot of cat videos on the phones. (But don't tell her I said that).

The FMCA lady is correct. The MiFi is your router, and will handle up to 15 connected devices. You can connect to the MiFi for accessing the internet with your phones and tablets when you are within range of it, but if you go out of range you won't be able to access the internet from it. You also won't be able to use it for voice calls, unless you are using some sort of VOIP app. The FMCA plan is data only over the supplied MiFi, not a phone plan.

One more thing to consider when running the generator while going down the road... Be sure to shut off the A/C about 5 minutes before you reach your destination. The generator does not like to be shut off when it is under load, so turning off the A/C beforehand gives it time to turn off the compressors and blowers before you turn off the genset. Our generator has an autorun feature, so we use that. After we turn off the A/C, the system knows when it is OK to shut down the generator, and does so automatically.

Thanks Smithy. I was contacted this morning by Lisa at Verizon. She put in an order for the Jetpack 7730L at the plan price of $.01. It should be here in a couple of days. I am now a happy camper!!!!!

I was contacted Friday afternoon by one of the Verizon reps who supposedly was familiar with the FMCA plan. He was unable or unwilling to send me the Jetpack at the plan price. He told me the Jetpack for $.01 was only available to new customers, and I should go to a Verizon store and buy one at whatever price a regular mifi upgrade would cost (online it's about $95). I am sending info on my situation to someone at FMCA who was in on the Verizon negotiations, and hopefully he can speak to someone at Verizon who would have the authority to help. I would be very happy with this plan if I were getting the device for the plan price. As it is, my data plan has been switched over, and now I am under a new 2 year contract with an early termination fee of $175 to pay for a device that Verizon won't send to me.

As a full timer, I prefer the digital version of the magazine. It is just as easy to read on a computer or tablet than a print copy (easier in my case, since I can enlarge it enough that my tired eyes can see it better). And, I don't have to pay postage to have it sent to wherever I happen to be.

I really thought they would send me a coupon to take to a store to get a replacement. But, No. There is a new fire extinguisher sitting at my mail forwarding service. It would cost more to have it shipped to me than what I can buy it for at the local hardware store. I guess I'll ask the mail forwarding service to shred and discard this piece of mail.

Was there any resolution for those of us (maybe only me?) who have not been able to order the Jetpack 7730L? I've got my data plan switched to the FMCA plan, but can't get the MiFi at the $.01 price ordered online, or through the customer service number.

I got that same email. My data plan has been updated, and I am now on the FMCA data plan. I just wish I could get my new Jetpack. One issue I have with the new "unlimited" plan limited to 25GB, is that when I try to check my data usage for the current billing period, there is no information available. Instead of stats that tell me how much data I have used so far, all I get is "unlimited data" in place of "you have used 11.3 GB this period". Not helpful. Maybe this will change once I get my 7730L Jetpack, if I am ever able to get it.

It's also unavailable for anyone wanting to sign up for a data plan today. So, that pretty much takes the Mobley plan out of the running for anyone who doesn't already have one. Of the data only plans that someone could sign up for today, the FMCA plan is a good one at a fair price.

I've already tried that. They told me that plan ID number is for the data plan only, not the device included in the offer.
