We recently stayed at the RV Oasis park in Las Vegas, NV. We had a problem with our light plug (for towing). We called Elite Mobile RV service..Kameron was very professional. He arrived at the time he scheduled, fixed our problem (it was a fuse). Then we asked him to hook up a continuous power supply for our Jeep (for the Patriot 3 Breaking system). He came back the next morning (as promised) and hooked it up very professionally. He even noticed small things that needed repair and just did them. I highly recommend him. He knows his stuff!

I'm in Memphis, using my FMCA Mifi through Sprint, and service has really degraded. Is this because of the switch over to T-Mobile? Is FMCA working on a replacement program?

So my Cornerstone Extended Service plan expires in March 2021. I bought it with my '16 HR Vacationer from General RV. It was all they had and I learned Cornerstone is not the greatest. They reject more than the pay for, but I really used it anyway. Went back to General for a quote to extend & had to take a nitro pill to stop my heart attack....$10K for 5 yrs w/$200 deductible. Got a quote from Good Sam for $800/yr w/$1K deductible. American's RV Warranty quoted an exclusionary 5 yr w/$100 deduct @ $4800. Called General RV to ask if they even took American's RV Warranty and they said..."yes, but they are real hard to deal with and reject a lot of claims". So is that true or is General just trying to get me to buy their Cornerstone policy again???? So my questions is...knowing that everyone has different experiences with different companies....Which warranty company can you trust, if any? Or should I say...Which one can you trust the most? If you ask Mr. Google about reviews, you find a lot of articles and sales pitches, but not a lot of real reviews. Hope I am not duplicating someone else's post, but there were so many I simply didn't take the time to go through them all......Thanks to anyone who can offer some advice

I've had several dealings with Directv over the last few years of full-timing, and each time it feels like I have the wrong number. No one knows much about the RV world, and the 'go to' answer is 'call the antenna manufacturer'. My (hopefully positive) question: Is anyone aware of a special contact number at Directv that will get a caller to someone knowledgeable of RV-related issues? Thanks, Eric

My wife and I are brand new to RV'ing, as owners anyway. We actually pick up our RV tomorrow for maiden overnight trip. We have owned large boats before, and camped for years in truck campers. I love this site and appreciate all the experience that is being conveyed in the forums. I need to have some work done to my coach to support my towable, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I understand I need to add auxiliary brakes and am considering the Air Force One system. My question is, what do folks think of service (Maintenance and Installation) performed by Camping World? Specifically the store in Indy. I've heard some negative, but my parents were RV'ers and I remember them using them all the time.

Mike Thompson RV in Colton is the worst. I requested service using their on-line service request twice and several weeks in advance of when I wanted service. No response was received from them. I called requesting a service appointment and believed I had an appointment. Had even commented that I would be arriving early the day of the appointment and the service advisor stated that my appointment was for 9am and didn’t matter if I arrived early. The day of the appointment I arrived on time and checked in with the service advisor. He was confused and for some reason thought I would call back to confirm appointment but I certainly didn’t take it that way considering that I was told my appointment was for 9 am and didn’t matter if I arrived early. After talking about our concern, the service advisor wanted to sell me an appliance service and roof check. I declined the extras and asked him to just address my reason for the appointment. The RV was left on Monday and when we returned on Friday to pick-up the RV learned that not a thing had been done to the RV. So what was the appointment for? It is just to check-in and not an assurance that they will actually work on the RV! What kind of crazy service is that? We traveled from western Colorado and thought we could get some service in the “big city” but learned that they do things different in California or is it just this poorly managed RV “service” center? We have visited many RV service centers and this is a first and last for us. We will never go to another Mike Thompson facility. STAY AWAY!

We are struggling to find good, reliable service. We have an issue with our main slide out and the last place that we used actually made it worse. Our "go to" shop recently closed. We live in Massachusetts.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with Nationwide Warrantees? It seemed like a great deal at first well of course "if it look too good... it's NOT!" When trying to make a claim last month I have found them to be arrogant, nasty, and totally unhelpful to their customers. I started the policy in November of last year with no claims till now and a couple of thousand dollars in payments to them. Last year I decided to look for a now extended warrantee for my 1997 Discovery 36RS coach. Nationwide offered 4 years for the price of 3. Well to cut along story short I tried to make a claim for my fridge and not only was it denied but with very nasty conversations and voice mail messages from them. They treated my like dirt and basically told me we don't care about you and we are not going to honor our contract. When I tried to contact them again, it took 3 emails and 2 phone calls I was fed up so I said CANCEL my policy and give me a refund. I was told it had to be in writing, which I did immediately. Another nasty email from a supervisor who told me to go jump in a lake and they are NOT going to give me any portion of my money back. A warning to anyone out there looking for an Extended Service Warrantee... do NOT use Nationwide Warrantee as they are a rip off... I am still fighting to get my money back. Keep smiling Phill

We have Max Force 10 engine made by Navistar or International. We are looking for service providers that will deal with motorhomes since have run into a couple that do not want to deal with us. We are looking for places around the country that will provide annual or periodic maintenance. Is there any group or list of service providers that like motorhomes? If not can we start one? (Sure miss my Cummins service locations with hookups and friendly service). When you look on Monaco or Navistar sites you get generic list but most only want to deal with trucks.

Don’t complain about services, they’ll call the police and have you removed! My family and I booked the Labor Day weekend at Merry Meadows Campground (formerly Morris Meadows) in Freeland, Maryland for Labor Day Weekend. Their website said their pool was opened every day up to Labor Day. We decided to make a long weekend and arrive on Thursday Night so we could have 3 solid days of pool time. When we arrive, our site is full of grass savings. I then her from the Life guard on Friday Morning that the pool will be closed because all the Lifeguards went back to school. She was only there for a few hours to clean it. I visited the registration desk at 11am and spoke with Lorraine. When I complained she slammed a complaint form down and told me to fill it out. I also voiced that I was upset that all the other amenities such as golf, race cars, driving range were closed too. I also discovered that exercise classes that I was excited about throughout the weekend were also cancelled. I requested to speak with the Manager/Owner. She attempted to call but no answer. I asked Lorraine to make sure the owner knew I wanted to speak with her and then asked for a rake to be dropped off at the site so grass shavings could be cleaned up. 3 hours later a “part owner” yet not willing to accept the responsibility of ownership arrive to clean up the grass. We had a conversation about my displeasure with the above and instead of discussing the issues he wanted to tell me some long story about how his Brother is suing him over the business because he and Lois took it from him. No concern for my displeasure was ever shown. No apology was made. No discussion on how they can make it right. The pool and activities remained closed and cancelled for the remainder of the day. We also missed out on taking the children for ice cream because they chose to close the snack bar at 8:30pm rather than the posted 9:00PM closing time. On Saturday at 12 noon, I walk the children to the pool. The lifeguard sends us away to walk back to the RV to find our receipt and show proof we are allowed in the pool. We were never told we needed to provide proof. I find the receipt, take it to the pool and gain entry. I then take a lounge chair and move it a total of 3-4 feet so it would be in the sun and was promptly informed by the Lifeguard that I could not move the lounge chair and if I wanted to be in the sun I would need to bring my own chair or lay on the grass. While at the pool I met a season pass holder who was not camping. I told her that I was waiting to hear from the owner and she pointed her out to me. She was judging golf tournament. I waiting until it was over and approached the owner. I explained I had requested to speak with her and had not heard from her. She cut me off by saying that she was aware that I had complaints and she did not want to talk to me until Monday because she was too busy. I told her this was unacceptable to ignore my request for 4 days. I told her my displeasure about the pool be closed on Friday and she cut me off again by telling me that I am ruining my own vacation by allowing their lack of service to upset me. This is ridiculous! She then cut me off AGAIN and asked if I wanted my money back. I tried to explain that this was not about the money but the fact that we chose to go there because of the amenities advertised on her website and the fact that they were not providing the product represented on the website. Se then put her golf cart in reverse, almost hitting me, turned on the road and left me there. I yelled out that if she wasn’t going to listen to me I’ll just post it on Social Media. Then as she drove away I said that I do want my money back. I return to my camper and started making the children lunch. Then, my Husband enters the camper to inform me that the police are here and the owner is kicking us out of campground. I walked out and asked the police why were we being kicked out because we had done nothing illegal and all I did was complain. She informed us this did not matter and that it was private property and they had to escort us out because she requested. She only gave us 1 hour to vacate which was not enough to properly clean, packed and get everything ready to leave. Because I complained this owner kicked us out. We had to leave our family behind and finish the holiday weekend at home. I was refunded only the days that I was kicked out and not the full weekend she offered in our conversation.

Pacific Dualies in California provides excellent customer service and product support. A Pressure+ TPMS I bought last spring operated erratically. I contacted Pacific Dualies - they suggested some diagnostic steps - no change. A second contact was no quibble, no hassle - "Here's an RMA - send it back". I just received a call from them - a new unit is on its way. No questions or issues - just great support of the product. I recommend them highly.

This is a shout out to Brett Wolfe. We went in for maintenance at Cummins West in Avondale (Phoenix), AZ today. In a post several months ago, Brett had suggested replacing the belts on the engine and saving the usable used belts as back up in case a belt breaks. I asked the service representative to replace the used belts and save them for me. We were having the generator serviced at the same time. In the discussion the service rep asked if I wanted the belt on the generator (7.5 KW Onan) replaced also. I thought, "If it's good for the engine, it has to be good for the generator." So I said to replace it also and save the old belt for me. Actually, I didn't even know the generator had a belt. Who knows what is in that big green box? When the job was done, the service rep gave me the belts from the engine and then showed me the belt that came from the generator. It was missing an inch of the inner notched material of the belt. The only thing holding it together was the strong continuous strip on the outside of the belt. Some additional inner material was peeled off the outer belt but still hanging on. It was just a matter of time until the belt derailed and we had generator failure. With temperatures in the low 100's, we really needed the generator to keep the motor home livable while driving. So thank you Brett. Your advice saved us a delay or more!
