  1. Hi sjmondl, It is unfortunate you took offense at my post. I answered the question you asked, which was: "Since I have registered my DL with a FlyingJ Manager, does this mean I can swipe my FlyingJ RV Member Card at the RV Fuel Island and the pump will allow me to fill my tank?" The Frequent Fueler Card will allow you to pump to the limits posted at the PFJ site. There was no mention of the payment method in your question. If your CC company allows a higher limit, good for you. As to the fueling procedures at the different fueling choices, they are clearly documented at the PFJ link in post #1. They are also clearly displayed if one was to read the monitor when starting the fueling process. There could be some confusion at the truck pumps, but since you do not fuel there, there is no need to elaborate here. Providing PFJ information for the pump start feature is for the truck pumps. The payment method starts the pumps at the RV and auto fueling choices. I have the old Flying J RV Real Value Card. If has never failed to work as advertised. This is true for Pilot and Flying J stations.
  2. Hi PAVLAS, Go to post #1. There are links to the RV Frequent fueler web site. The procedure to follow is provided. If the procedure is not followed,,,,to the letter, discounts may be lost for that transaction. The procedure is not difficult, but must be followed. In addition, post #1 provides an email address and the information PFJ needs to research your concern. Send them all the information you can about the transaction that did not go as planned. They will communicate directly with you, via email.
  3. Hi sjmondl, Welcome to the FMCA forums. If you require diesel fuel, why would you go to the RV lanes (unless you need propane or dumping waste)? Consider going to the truck pumps. I use only the truck pumps. I have the old RV Real Value card, from the J. It was registered on line and then with a PFJ cashier for the pump start feature. My card has worked as advertised at Pilot and J stations. I'm not sure what PFJ can do with the information in your post. Do you have details of the transactions. Post #1 provides the information PFJ needs to help correct any concern you may have. Post #1 also provides an email address one can send their concern to. The staff that monitors this email address has the ability to look at your account details and past history. They can communicate directly with you via email. Post #1 also provides a link to the PFJ web page that provides details of the fueling process one needs to follow. The part of your post indicating the pump cut off amounts seems clear about how many $s one can pump. What is it that you do not understand? At the truck pumps (the highest $s limit = $750). The answer to your questions is no. You will not be able to pump $800 worth of fuel at any of the fueling choices.
  4. Hi JerryBrock, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Please read post #1. Send the detail information you have that is mentioned in post #1, to the email address mentioned in the post(RV@pilotflyingj.com). The people that staff this email have the ability to look at individual customer accounts/records. They can correct a problem and communicate directly with you via email.
  5. Hi Kagin, There is also the 1. Von Trapp property. This is the family the movie "The Sound of Music" was made after. 2. The town of Stowe 3. Countless cider mills and maple syrup mills 4. Some ski resorts have operational lifts in the summer. Great views, eat at the restaurants on the top of the mountain. Hike trails at the top of the ski lift.
  6. Hi Tom, Well done, congrats. There was no need to worry. Many RVers are doing what you did. They are choosing the same (Whirlpool/Maytag)refrigerator you did.
  7. Hi ronnewsam and DarinCox, To activate the pump start feature (at the truck diesel pumps) one does need to take their PFJ Frequent Fueler Card (or the old RV Real Value Card) to a PFJ cashier. They will need to see your driver's license. They will enter information from the license into their computer. Once completed the pump start feature is immediately available for your use. Once you have the pump start feature, treat your Frequent Fueler card the same as a credit card. If you loose it or lend it and the card is associated with a drive off fuel theft, guess who PFJ will come after to collect the $s? If you loose the card report it lost to PFJ immediately.
  8. Hi jimpat4649, Thank you very much for letting us know what the fix was. I really appreciate it.
  9. Hi johntelling, Within 500 miles of purchasing the coach the steer tires were replace by Michelin. They were defective (XZA). I got the XZE2+ for the steer as I wanted to try an experiment to see how they performed. Per my previous post, they are performing outstandingly. This provides me some history so when I need to replace tires I have experience with more than one choice. Do not over complicate this decision. Availability is another unknown. Depending on tire size, Michelin has been known for go for months in a sold out situation. They seem to make tires by the batch.
  10. Hi johntelling, I have XZE2+ on the steer and XZA on the drive axle. I have 67K+ miles on the tires. Both tires are wearing outstandingly. Both tires are very smooth riding (lead weight balanced at installation). If it was me I'd take the lower out the door price.
  11. Hi ahicks, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Looking forward to reading your posts. Especially those that deal with after market items that enhance your RVing pleasure.
  12. This is good news. The Pilot/J are getting their act together. Unfortunately, it is taking longer than anyone wanted. I know they have had considerable difficulty programming the truck pumps to meet the new program.
  13. Hi gmoreno, Welcome to the FMCA forum. I echo NavyDad89's post. I tow with a dolly and four on the ground. Only dumb luck will allow you to back up the dolly with a vehicle on it. Make sure you have a working brake system on the dolly. I have surge brakes. It matters not what kind of brakes you have as long as they are working. This is to protect you and yours from very bad lawsuits if the unthinkable happens. When using the dolly, I have suction cup mounted light bar for brake and turn signals. As to the weight, to understand if the coach can tow the dollied Mini, get the configuration weighed. Compare the weights with the coach/chassis specs. Then you'll know if you need to do something or not.
  14. Hi precious, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Your last post contains no additional information. The baseline is how much are you willing to spend each month? By the water or inland is okay? Social setting or more of a quite do you own thing resort? These are the things we need some guidance on.
  15. Hi bobnbexs, Bill have given good advice, call your CC company and dispute the charge.
  16. Hi satboyz, The miles on the engine are not excessive. It all depends on how the entire drive train has been maintained. 1. Are all the maintenance records available and verifiable? 2. Have a certified Cummins diesel tech and an Allison tech check out the components. 3. See if you can purchase a one year service contract (Good Sam, etc.) If these three elements fall into place and the floor plan is what you are looking for, go for it. A new ISL would run about $50K. It all depends on what one can reuse.
  17. I'm in the same category. What use to take a day now takes a week. Now, I take the months of January and February (I live in south Florida) to complete the annual chassis, engine and tranny maintenance. At the same time I install any new must have after market purchases from the Tampa RV Super Show. This means I have the March and April short trips to make sure everything was done correctly before we start traveling in earnest, beginning in May.
  18. Hi rorr1821, If you go to http://www.irv2.com/forums/f54/out-goes-th...ytag-81685.html and scroll through the thread, you'll see many pictures and a narrative of a coach owner who replaced the Norcold with a 23 cubic foot Maytag. The installation was done really nicely.
  19. Hi dbik86i, Being the coach is an 08, I'm going to make some assumptions. 1. You have a 5 button T'stat 2. The brand of heap pumps and T'stat is Duo-Therm. 3. When you try the fan only position, all zones are on fan only. 4. The fan speed, for all zones is on low or high, not auto. 5. You have waited the appropriate amount of time for the fan to start. This could be from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. If these items are not correct, please post what is the correct configuration. If these items are correct, consider calling a service professional. The fan only position should operate in all conditions. Because neither fans will operate, the only common item is the T'stat and wiring. Dometic's contact number is 260-463-4858. They are in Indiana.
  20. Hi MarkandAmy, Welcome to the FMCA forum. The IRS has very clear rules about claiming a second home on wheels. At this time a motor coach qualifies. If your lender did not send you a 1098 form, call them and demand they do so. The 1098 balances the IRS books with the interest deduction you claim. If there is not 1098, you will be audited and will need to explain the interest deduction is for a motor coach. This is usually a mail audit. It amounts to an irritating and inconvenient task. Go to http://www.irs.gov/publications/p936/ar02....blink1000229900 and read about this topic. The IRS defines a qualified home as: "For you to take a home mortgage interest deduction, your debt must be secured by a qualified home. This means your main home or your second home. A home includes a house, condominium, cooperative, mobile home, house trailer, boat, or similar property that has sleeping, cooking, and toilet facilities."
  21. Hi rkheinefield@bellsouth.net, Welcome to the FMCA forum. As best I know aiming of the dish has nothing to do with the receivers. My KVH finds the DTV satellite without the receivers being on. This statement is for standard definition TV. Brett has the correct solution. Contact KVH and tell them the problem. They can lead you through ensuring the programming of the dish is correct. Make very sure you have a completely clear view of the southern sky. From Charleston, this would be the southwest from your current location. You should be able to hear the dish (a growling sound) moving around to find the satellite. If you do not hear the dish moving, try to find a fuse or two that may be blown.
  22. Hi kcsails, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Forget the current receiver even exists. Just call Direct TV and either add a receiver to your current account or start as a new subscriber with them.
  23. Hi Pam, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Brett's post is a good start. I sincerely doubt you will get renting your coach approved by the company holding the loan on your coach. Somewhere in all the terms and conditions this is, most likely prohibited. That being said, if you can get it approved they will determine what insurance you will need to have. The next step is to go to several RV insurance carriers and determine what they charge for the policy you will need. Make sure you are sitting down when they tell you the premium. If after the above mentioned tasks, you remain positive, my recommendation is to get an agent/broker that rents coaches. If you try to do this yourself there is considerable additional expense and liability. Once you see the $s you'd receive from each day of rental, you can do the business case to determine if the business is worth getting into. As a single coach owner, you are at a disadvantage because the large rental companies allow one way rentals. This accommodates tourists much better than a rental that must be returned to the originating location. Lastly, consider your location. Is the coach located in an area that is where the renters (mostly European and Asian tourists) arrive in the USA from their home country? For reason's different than yours, I thought about this and did the due diligence. The bottom line is a coach would need to be rented for about 5 months of the year just to break even. I went no farther with the rental idea.
  24. Hi jgoergen, Welcome to the FMCA forum. Florida is a very large state. There are hundreds of RV Resorts. Can you provide more information? 1. How much are you willing to pay? 2. Near the water or inland? 3. South, Central or North Florida? 4. Any special needs? 5. Activity interests? 6. Trees or no trees? 7. Concrete, black top or grass for the coach to sit on? The more information provided the better the responses will be.
  25. Hi reid9439, Thanks for the solution. It is great when we can all learn from each other.
