  3. Carl, this is another file that might help ID your motor. I'm going to look into the other file issue. Should have more then 16 pages. A causality of the computer crash. ?????.   4. Carl, That should keep you from getting bored ! Looking at some parts list information to see if there is an OEM number cross number. I will look at the link and see if I and find out why it did not copy the whole thing. Rich.
  5. Carl, This is a more detailed copy of the Power Gear slide out manual. Rich. If you can attach a picture of the drive motor - it might help me find something. The number of the control board - no reference found. So maybe a picture of the mod would help. Thinking the inline fuse(think that is what you found) is the main power feed for the system.
  6. Carl, the slide out motors generally get power from the Chassis / engine batteries. That is why most slide systems will not work unless the ignition switch is in the on position. Regarding an air leveling system and slide outs - as long as the coach is level when extending the slides, the slide mechanics could car less and work the same electrically and mechanically. Where power is accessed is up to the coach builder. They do try to keep them disabled while driving or have a alarm and a red LED active until the slides are docked inside the coaches. Hope that info helps clear up some of your questions. Rich.

  8. Carl, At least I'm Not alone - regarding missing things. Think What I mentioned in my post about the Drive motor gearing is back into the picture. Can you get a number(s) off the motor, I think that I have a file that covers many of of the Electric and mechanical items that have been supper seeded with new numbers. Also, you will need to remove the remove the drive shaft shear pin(s). Then there should be a 3/4 in. nut on one point on the shaft - that can be turned with a socket wrench to retract the slide manually ! If there is enough room you might be able to use a drill motor and adapter to spin the common drive shaft. I think I have some info in the PDF Format, Hope it is not missing after the the computer cash. That could get interesting or frustrating depending on ones state of mind. Rich. See my next post.   9. Rich. I wish it was HWH system!!!! It's Power Gear by Lipper Ind. Same as my Jack/Air leveling system. Interior of coach is level, will see if I can round up some muscle this morning. Got to get this fixed by the 13th! Otherwise, it will be Linda's DP going to Shawnee, OK. Carl. This information might prove helpful for getting the Power Gear Hydraulic Slide back into place and then securing the hydraulic system.   10. Bill and Wayne ! Carl has 12.7 volts on his 10, 12 volt batteries and all the other slides work. 2 electric and one hydraulic. The one the does not retract is a hydraulic drive and only moves in or out about 3 in. . The hydraulic pump motor keeps running and the slide does not make it up over the ramp so the slide can continue to the full closed position. No fluid leaks or other obvious item blocking the slide. I did ask if there was something blocking the slide. The only items that I can think of is the possibility of the ramp blocks out of position or a planetary gear reduction drive with a center pin for the gear setup that is no longer keeping the gears lined up properly. have seen this issue in in a campground, that sounds like what Carl is experiencing. Rich. HWH Hydraulic pump is set at 3000 PSI - that much pressure should move the slide - something binding or out of adjustment.
  11. Dan, The problem is common to both shore power and generator power. That Would put the ATS at the starting point. You need to have the proper skill set to work on electrical systems with a total voltage level of 240 volts. Not really something that most RV owners should get into. All the wiring must be connected properly between the ATS and The main power panel and sub power panel. and branches out from them to the inverter / charger and all the 120 volt circuit breakers.   12. Carl, My thought is that the pin that keeps the planetary gears aliened in the drive gearbox has worn a out of round(oval) hole in the gear casting. When that happens the gears do not generate the needed torque. If you can get some help pushing in on the slide so it can slide in and then if you can get a new motor or have a Good machine shop put a sleeve in the casting and secure it reassemble and install. Rich. The casting material is not the best - the pin starts to wobble .
  13. Thanks, So the slide will go back out to its normal extended point. then retract only 8 in. and stop, but the hydraulic motor is still running. Does the motor sound change when it stops / like the pressure load is changing? Something restricting the slide at the point it starts to lift enough to complete the full retraction. The hydraulic pressure is set at the same point for both hydraulic slides. Sure sounds like something is blocking the slide - something blocking it or the lift ramp that it slides up on is out of place. Any difference in the height of the slide floor from front to rear?   14. Carl, 3 hydraulic slides work - right? The 4 th. is not and that one is electric ? Correct ! Electric motor on that slide works and the slide drive shaft is turning even when the slide stops retracting- correct ! Rich.
  15. Carl, Thanks for posting . Diesel coach would be an Elite or Legend series. That series is equipped with a Magnum Power inverter / charger and a 50 amp EMS power load center.The original poster did replied to thank Brett for his response to the temperature sensor wire for the coach battery charge rate. No mention of trying to run the generator - to see if the system did not time off. Hope he figured out how to setup the load center or is now connected to a 50 amp service. Rich.

  17. F 318927, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Transmitter / Receiver. The entire module is self testing. However ! it has no clue that the information is not being exchanged between the generator unit and the remote control module. Page 22 of your manual pictures the wiring, but you might need to contact Onan tech and ask if it is a module issue or a software corruption issue. You might want to look into the AGS option offered by Magnum power, Xantrex or the company that made the inverter / charger used in you coach to see what might be the best option / or price. Rich.

  19. I do a lot of my own repairs, but this one needs a member responding that has done roof work on a bigger scale. When I look at this - I see a complete removal and replacement. I do see an area on the right side of the roof - at the rear of the awning that looks like there has been some water intrusion / leak. I would keep a good tarp over the roof area, that will keep the area from getting wet !!!!! Rich.

  21. I'm Slender enough to slide under the coach if needed. My air control valves are in locations that are not to bad to get to once I'm under the coach. If I need a little more room - using some 2 x 12 by 18 to 24 in. blocks to park on can make a big difference. Jack stands that will hold up under the weight of the coach are bulky and heavy. Wood parking blocks pack better and are much lighter. The hydraulic leveling pump and manifold are in one of the rear bays and one can work on them setting down on a stool. I did replace 2 hydraulic lines in Alaska using just blocks and a good sized piece of cardboard to slide on. Took a few hrs., but the labor rate was good ! Rich.
  22. F438921, I use a degreaser - if you keep Simple Green Extreme in stock to clean your radiator and CAC, that will work very well to clean off the dirt and grime. Then rinse things off with water. Much less expensive then WD-40. The air manifolds are usually not that bad to get to and with all the air discharged. I do not think you will need to use jack stands? Bretts, thought on doing one at a time makes it hard to mix up the connection sequence. Other wise label the lines and take some good pictures. Much easier to keep the lines in there proper location.. When installing, use plane vegetable oil to make installing the new "O" rings - it will not harm them. Rich.
  23. Brett, the 454 and 8.1 L engine are offered in the electrical PDF files for both. Just want to make sure - one chassis has a totally different electrical wiring setup. Rich.
  24. struthers495. The normal fluid level is the full mark on the dipstick. That is the running level for the transmission pan . One can add 6 quarts - this brings the level above the pan level and fills the void where the mechanical parts are located. When one changes the fluid and filters, there is still a good amount of old fluid in the Torque converter and by over filling the trans by 6 quarts, running the engine will pump the extra through the torque converter and it is then discharged out the return line from the cooler - That trick replaces all the fluid in the entire system.   25. Kevin510, The Chassis engine, is it a 454 or the 8.1 L? Also, What chassis is your coach built on W-20, 22, 24 Workhorse chassis or L-18 , L-31 P-32 chassis ? Rich.
