  2. I want to thank everybody for your Input. I have watched all the conversations now for the last Year or so on the Topic of RR conversion. I already added 2 more 6 Volt Batteries (now 6- 6Volt batteries). This is in hope to give me enough power on a overnight stay, so that the generator does not start in the Auto Start Mode. The fridge is a Whirlpool 19.7 cu/ft French door, and as per data Plate draws 6 amp, but that's startup Mode .The coach is a 2010 Phaeton. I had checked several coaches at last Rally in Chandler AZ and a lots of Manufacturers used Maytag RR with a 6 amp Draw and 2000 Watt Inverter .With that in mind and this forum's overall input I hope and feel this was a good choice. Thanks again to ALL with Your responses. Will let you know how it all works out. Leaving for a trip the 1st week in June. RAY
  3. Thanks for the quick answer, Kaypsmith & Brett. My Inverter is a Xantrex 2000-- don't know about pass true feature. I assume it does , since everything worked OK all along. Meaning wile traveling the DW could use the microwave or whatever. Thanks, RAY
  4. I am in the middle of replacing the NO-COLD Refrigerator with a Whirlpool residential Fridge . I have two Outlets in the Fridge Cavity , # 1is from the Invertor , #2 is from Landline Since I would want to use both , at different Times (Driving/Dry camping, or in Campground plugged in) which outlet do you use? Appreciate Any Help I can Get . Thanks RAY
  5. Is this Your 110 volt outlets? Check the GFI Button-- mostly at bathroom or kitchen locations. Or check the reset button/breaker on the Inverter. If you are on generator, check the breakers on the generator. Hope this helps. BTW ,Welcome to FMCA Forum . Good Travels ,Old Marine
  6. look in the closer for a plastic cover (approx. 10inch square) remove the cover ,you find fuses behind them hope thes helps
  7. Hi jleammont . I bought a Marshall Extend a Stay Propane Adaptor Tee from E-Bay .Turn the Propane off at the Tank ,Install the Adaptor before the Regulator ,then bolt the Regulator downstream from the Adaptor so that the Propane Appliances in the Coach are still working with the appropiate pressure .Then You can just hook up Your Webber Grill Whenever You want , just make sure You always put the access cap back on so no Dirt can get in .You may have to rig up up a braket to keep the regulator from vibrating . Hope this helps . Save Travels , Old Marine
  8. Our last coach was an Alfa Gold, and we added a 13.500 Roof Air in place of the front Fantastic Vent. Also had them takeout the Fantastic Fan Control on the end of the Kitchen Cabinet and install a remote Control w/thermostat. This way the DW could easily make changes. The Tech routed the wires in behind the kitchen cabinets to underneath the refrigerator to the 110V access panel. We have not had any Problems running all Units with the Generator .The work was done by Camping World in Mesa AZ .We where Happy with their work-- no holes to cut in roof or cabinets. Hope This helps . There is also the option to contact Alfateers in Fontana California, if you want more insight. Old Marine
  9. I would not know about a restriction, but would not recommend US 50, I 25 to Denver, 470 west to I70 to Grand Junction but at this time of the year? I don't think I would even try. Even in the Summer its a nerving ride, steep up and down grades for long periods, but definitely better then US 50. Hope this helps (don't ask how I know). Old Marine
  10. We have a 2013 CRV with GPS,and I did have the DEAD BATTERY problem after towing 6-7 Hours, I also use a Blue Ox Brake Box . So I really don't know who the battery killer was .But I installed a Charge Wire from the Coach to the Car and I bought a switch and a Fuse with attached wires and made my own fused disconnect for about $ 8.00 .Since then no more problems. I see the same switch on the NET for $65.00-$82.00 I got The 2 Parts at Auto Zone. Hope this helps. Old Marine
  11. I would also say to do those maintenance Items . We have a 2010 Phaeton, although I do my own work ,so I really can't tell what a shop would charge. But with 50K and 7-8year old Coach its a verry good Idea to change all belts. And if you are the original owner and this has not been done before, then you are really running on borrowed time. But ask the shop to give you the old belts to keep as a spare, just in case something would happen down the Road and parts where not available. You might also look into getting your cooling system flushed and new coolant installed. I have just done all my maintenance and our coach is 2-3Year newer . Hind sight is never a nice thing. I hope this helps , Old Marine
  12. If you are talking about the two Knife Switches ,they are suppose to be closed when using the Coach. When having the coach in storage for extended period ,open both switches. This will stop the batteries from being depleted from the Parasitic Loads (Control Modules). Hope this helps. old marine
  13. We were at the tunnel Camp Ground in 2010 & in 2013 , had no reservation either time ,and this was in August & July had no Problems getting in ,they have 3 Camps ,#1 is the most preferred ,there You have full hook up , and it will be hard to get in without Reservation .the 2 others not so much .They are very spacious Spots and also supplied firewood at no charge (and you want it if you want to be outside) .both times the Moscitos were terrible. Make sure to bring repellant ,its very costly in Canada. We dit not find a CG at Lake Louise,But don't miss it .Hope this helps Old Marine
  14. Hello DonnaKAY, Go to Ace Hardware store or Home Depot, bring the old one with you so you can match it, there are way to many variations, I had no problem getting the right one for our door. Good Luck, Old Marine
  15. Hi Montie, We where at Tunnel Campground in June 2013 .There are actually 3 campgrounds, one right after the other. Only the first one had electric & water, the others where without & had a big mosquito problem, but you had your own large spot. They have free firewood to keep them away. You better bring Repellent! Hope this helps. Old Marine
  16. Hi Manhold, Sounds like your burner nozzle on the Aqua Hot is plugged or the adjuster bolt for the igniter came loose. You can contact a dealer, or download in the WEB its not too hard to fix, but hard on your knees. Good luck. old Marine
  17. About 15 miles south of Albert Lee is Diamond Joe's casino, I stayed there this summer, but no hook ups. Hope this helps.
  18. borg8of9 Welcome. Only two things come to mind: Bad proportioning valve or a bad brake hose that is coming apart internally ,other then a smashed brakeline as Brett mentioned. Good luck. Let us know the final fix.
  19. We where in DC last year & stayed at Cherry Hills , verry nice with all amenities, is right close to the beltway & easy to get to anywhere in the City. We would definitely go again. old marine
  20. Hi elisowski, We are in the same situation, but motored on ,we just bought a rand mc nally GPS , model RV 7720LM. This will give you all the road issues you will come across like tunnels etc. Then yesterday we preordered the 2013 issue of the MILE POST on AMAZON. It won't be in print until mid March. By preordering, it will save you around $10.00. This will give You all the info you will need when you get to Dawson City BC,(mile zero). Milepost is the BIBLE to RV travels to ALASKA . If you take a PC along, click on http://gasbuddy.com/ and you can see current fuel prices. I hope this helps somewhat. We are going there this year come middle of June , maybe we see you there. Good luck and save travels. OLD MARINE
  21. Hi Andy You also should check out if You have ABS Brakes on Your Coach,Its a high probability it will turn the Waring lamp on and there is no way to turn it of ,witch means the Abs System will be disabled. You will still have Brakes , but in a Panic stop Your wheels would lock up & possibly ruin Your new Tires. all this is due to a different Diameter tires between fr.& rear Axel Good Luck , Old Marine
  22. Hi Misty, We have a 2004 Alfa. Just like Insooter said, check the Control Knob on the left side near your left knee area. It can easily be bumped when getting into the driver seat. If you cannot get it to work, try calling the Alfateers, they took over after ALFA went out of business. Nice people. Their phone is 909 428 6775. Good luck, old marine
  23. nelsokelso, Just saw your writeup. Seems to me you have more then one problem. I worked front end in dealership for over 45 years. 1st, you mentioned roadwander, then unusual tire wear but only on r/fr.tire. I agree w/Herman, you should have the fr.end alignment looked at first. Any experienced fr. end Tech would do a Inspection on the steering components and frame first before making such a attempt. It could be as little as the steering gear not being tightened to the frame properly. But just say that the alignment was off & you still have the wandering issue. Since you are not the original owner & you had this problem ever since you owned this vehicle, you might want to consider replacing your fr. tires. One hard hit with either of the tires going over a curb or big rock could easily break a cord or damaged the steel inside the tire that's not visible from outside but will cause the symptoms you describe. Also, have the technician check the steering gear pinion play at the output side of the gear. If there is excessive play, then this will prove that at least one tire or the other had struck a hard object at one time (possibly even a accident). I hope this helps. Sincerely, old marine
  24. I agree 100%, RPM3 worked great.I have done the top of our front cap above the windshield. Its been 2 Years and still looks great. The prep work is the hardest part of the job, all the oxidation has to be taken off. I used bartenders friend, it worked the best for me (don't scrub the decals). The down side is you have to apply the RPM3 5-6 times. But then you will have a really nice finish just like paint finish. If you are doubtful try it in a inconspicuous place on top of roof where nobody can see it. The cost is minimal, about $ 20.00 or so. Good luck & god bless. old marine
  25. Hi all, I worked front end all of my life. If it where my problem to solve, I would disconnect the pitman arm, then turn the steering wheel and see if the hard spot at approx. centerpoint of steering is still there. If it is then the replacement steering gear was not adjusted properly. Its a simple adjustment that is done on top of the pinion. Also if it is too tight the coach will be steering sensitive when driving. If the steering (with pitman arm disconected) steers freely, then I would agree with Herman, something got damaged during towing or the coach hit a object (rock, curb etc.) before it came to a stop. Sincerely, old marine
