  1. I would guess you had a voltage drop or a bad ground on the 50amp side. I would not trust the park power and would have the park verify everthing is OK. bill
  2. It's my understanding the price quoted by any local dealer does no matter. The work is completed by a shop that can process national accounts. The billing comes from Michelin not the dealer. Use the link on the FMCA Home Page. Thanks, Bill
  3. I just switched to BlueSky. Please keep us updated. Bill
  4. I purchased a TST System at the Atlanta Good Sam Rally. So far they look OK. I went for the flow through version.
  5. I have a local guy who can restring in less than an hour. Not worth buying the parts. Most drapery shops can do the same thing for less.
  6. I've had the same problem. I refilled the tank, jacked them up a couple of time with a floor jack and sprayed them with silicone. Have never failed again.
  7. You have made a believer out of me. I'm adding TPMS to my MH and Toad as soon as I can get them.
  8. I use Motosat and set up my own secure network with Hughesnet. I also use AT&T and teather to my Smartphone with a 4 gig package. Hughesnet is slower than 4g but very secure. I would not connect to a public Wifi unless you have no othe choice.
  9. Oil and filter change for the engine is straight forward. Should not be an issue if you can chage it on your car you can change it on your MH. Biggest issue is how to get rid of the 30 gallons of old oil. Make sure you change the fuel filters at the same time, could save some problems later. I change my oil and filters yearly. I don't worry about the miles. Unless you’re really up to it I would take it to a shop for the transmission.
  10. Mine is vented and it works great. A small load everyday or so is all it takes for one. I'll start the load before I take a day trip and on return everything is done and dry. Sometimes I even do a load going down the road.
  11. I agree, use your 30amp cord and an adapter at the receptacle.
  12. I have used Good Sam Extended Warranty on my last 3 Motorhomes. In general I don't fight with them I let the dealership work things out. Have not been disapointed yet. Take it to a good dealer and let them hash it out.... They speak the same language. Good Sam may be on the high side of the curve but in the end it pays off.
  13. If it's not at an authorized CAT repair shop...have it taken to one!
  14. Your right running without gauges would be foolish at best. But this is not apples to apples. You can't see your disk brake temp? I agree monitoring your tires is never a bad thing. But you can not leave it to the gauges.... The cause of most blow outs is hitting something in the road or a degraded tire. Modern tires can easily handle a range of pressure without damage. I say if someone has $600 to spend get the TMPS.
  15. Looks like you have a one pice fiberglass roof. The clear coat is starting to peel from the sun. You can clean it up and have it recoated or you can put a good coat of wax on the roof. The real issue is the caulking around the edge. The firbeglass roof is held in place by a thin bead of caulk around the edge. If your roof is showing signs of clear coat failure you should have the caulking checked. The loss of the clear coat will allow the roof to degrade over time but if you lose the seal around the edge you can lose the entire roof in a heart beat. I would take it to a Winnebago authorized service shop to have the inspection completed.
  16. I run Crossfire’s on everything with duals. Good indicator for over under inflation. One connection to fill both tires. If one tire has a sudden loss of air the system blocks that tire away so you will not drain both tires. With good tire maintenance practices, check pressure before a trip and each morning before you start, I see very little advantage to TPMS Systems. The cost/benefit is out of line. TPMS will not save you from a blowout, good tire management will. The Crossfire will show if you’re over or under pressure at a glance. Proper pressure at the start of the day is the key. It’s not unusual for tire pressure to change by 5 to 7 psi under normal conditions and even more if altitude/temp changes during the day. The toad might be the place for TPMS. Again the key is to keep an eye on your tires, all of them. I check my tires at every stop and the Crossfire make this easy.
  17. I don't see the 7725 on the web site.....Is it the same as the 7720?
  18. I have a 450 Turbo in my Vectra and pull a Pontiac Sunfire. Get 6.5 - 7mpg sweet spot?? is 62 mph. I try to run in Economy Mode as much as I can. I guess that's the price you pay to drag your house with you.....
  19. My 2004 Vectra had no windshield problems but my 2006 did.. A little clear windshield sealant and it's OK now. I agree Winnebago can be difficult to deal with if you get the wrong person. I've had better luck letting the dealer talk with the Winnebago folks. I'm on my second Vectra and I love it. For the most part Winnebago makes a fine product
  20. Why would you need to remove the 3M is it spotted or just in bad shape. Mine has spots. Bill
  21. Store your motorhome as close to home as possible. The cover will be a problem. They are big and heavy and you need storage when not in use. I found having a cover meant I used my motorhome less and storing to far from home I used it even less. Give it a good wax and keep it washed and let the chips fall.
  22. I have Dish at home and in our Motorhome. Would not have anything else. Unless your Wingard is really old you should be able to get it to work with Dish or Directv. Wingard suppeor is very helpful, give them a call.
