  1. I was wondering that myself. I thought about heading south next week when work closes but with all the closures all over the country I guess I’m staying put for awhile. I found this on Googles homepage today thought it was interesting. Everyone stay safe out there hopefully this crazy time we are in goes away quickly. https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/news/urgent-petition-to-keep-rv-campgrounds-open/ Phil
  2. Try this site for led’s www.boogeylights.com they have everything you need. The one thing I can tell you is that is you need the aluminum channel to mount them to get those from amazon, you wouldn’t believe how much cheaper they are then getting them from boogeylights. i bought a kit from them but haven’t mounted them yet I hope to get it done before camping season starts Phil
  3. Not sure what procedure your manual told you to do but with most Fords if you cycle the ignition on and off 8 times quickly without starting the vehicle on the 8 th time the doors will automatically lock and the vehicle is in program mode you have a few seconds to press the unlock button on the fob.. i have done this many times successfully , as long as your vehicle came with key fobs from the factory. Hope this helps! Phil
  4. I’ll be there in August we are staying at www.anchordownrvresort.com . I haven’t been there but a few people on the forum say it’s really nice. From what I’ve seen on their website it does look really nice.

    340 hp 6.7 L

I have that same drivetrain in my 15 Forza. It’s def. a six speed transmission. Just came back from Orlando without a toad I get 10.6 mpg with cruise set at 65mph. This summer I was pulling some decent hills on rt80 in PA. with a 4200# toad. I did drop to 45 mph on the hills. I was watching all the gauges and had my hand ready to downshift if engine temp climbed to high but the computer did it for me. It happened to be a 85degree day that day engine temp hit around 210 computer made necessary adjustments to transmission gear or engine fan and quickly brought temps down to normal. I was pleased with the performance. Heading to Nashville this summer so I’ll get another taste of some mountain grades. To say I would buy another DP with the same 340 ISB probably not. I probably will be moving up to 45’ model with a tag axle in the near future and will be looking for a little more towing capacity. Going from a gasser to this entry level DP was overall a move in the right direction. Don’t know if I would be able to go I the opposite direction on horsepower though but to each his own. Good luck I your search Phil
  6. Mark i have the same year chassis as you on my Forza. Haven’t had any issues at all with the transmission. Back in May of last year I received a letter from Allison about an issue with upshifting, Did you receive one as well and was the Allison tech aware of it or mention it. The letter mentions an upshifting problem, I know it’s the opposite of what you are experiencing but maybe all related. When I went to freightliner for engine related issues I showed them the letter, they said they would have to send the TCM to Allison to be reflashed as they didnt have the means to do it there. I figured if ain’t broke don’t fix it so I ignored the issue. I am attaching a copy of the letter for everyone to read Good luck with your issue I’m sure they will resolve it for you. Phil
  7. Debra Having lived one town over from Westfield I can tell you there is nothing in that immediate area,. Other problem is most places are closed for the season now. Check out www.jugtownmountain.com they are open all year and about 45 min. northwest of Westfield. I stayed there in the early 80’s it was decent back then but now I have no idea of how it is. Best possible thing for you is as mentioned park at relatives house if at all possible. I would also give a call to the township and ask if it’s ok to do so Westfield has some pretty strict zoning rules. Good luck on your trip. Phil
  8. Jmholb57 I have that engine in my coach. I went from a v10 to the 340 ISB. IMO the v10 had a better 0 to 60 time but it was also in a 35 ft coach which was quite lighter then my DP. The v10 averaged around 6.5 to 7 mpg @ 65 mph. After 3 years of check engine lights with the ISB I think it’s finally running quite well. I’m not a big fan of the new clean diesels too many issues with them. One thing I’m very pleased with is my fuel mileage, 10.5 mpg @ 65 mph in a 33,000# coach. I figured this was my first DP and I wasn’t looking to go all out yet on a top of the line unit until I buy the one I retire in .When I buy my next DP I will be definitely looking for more hp. Good luck on your purchase Phil
  9. The cover I had weight approximately 35lbs.Elements Premium model from CW. It had a storage sack with a large strap that I would put it around my shoulder like a back pack and climb up the ladder. Not to enjoyable. Fortunately it was only for the first winter of owning the coach now it’s in a heated garage and the cover is in its sack and collecting dust. But there is all types of covers out there with all different weights to them. Phil
  10. I had thought about doing that but there was such a difference in price that I didn’t bother. You would think after being a customer for several years they would give me a good price right off the bat. Progressive sends me flyers all the time to give me a package deal for all my different policies so I had them give me a number and they were completely out of the ballpark so they couldn’t get all my business. Wish it would have worked I’d much rather write out one check a year than several.
  11. I had Tobin Agency in Nj they handle nothing but RV insurance nationwide. When I bought my new coach in 2015 I called them for prices they said they would give me 3 quotes with companies they use. The quotes ranged from 2000 to 2500 a year all identical coverage including replacement cost coverage 170k value. The 2500 quote being from Progressive thru the Tobin Agency. Don’t know why but their commercial came on TV so I called direct , I figure I have nothing to lose told them exactly what I was looking for . I was quoted 1750 a year for the exact same policy glad I called signed right up and still with them today. Hopefully I never have to call for a claim.
  12. I usually lift the passenger side of the coach a bit higher just so the water rolls off the roof to the other side

    Simple Tires Online

I’ve ordered RV tires as well as truck and car tires several times you can’t beat their prices I’ve sent them a note with each order about date codes and what I would accept and never had a problem. I used to use Tire rack but Simple tire has better pricing. Phil
  16. I’ve been a member for a few years now. I enjoy reading the forum daily there is a very large amount of knowledge and experience on here that helps greatly helps us coach owners with so much and I believe more times than not saves us a trip to the repair shop. I look forward to the monthly magazine as well for the same reasons. I don’t mind the change to allow towables. Truth be told when I’m camping and sitting around the camp fire I don’t mind who is there as long as we have a good time. My suggestion for a new magazine is why not 2 publications 1 coach owner based as it is now and 1 towable owner based. They could be identical inside except for the tech and coach review sections. Members could be given the choice which one they prefer to receive each month and if you want to receive both of them, pay a small fee for the second issue. IMO just something to think about. Phil
  17. Thought I posted this but I guess I never hit send. Oops I experimented and left the heat on in the garage at 70 for a week started the coach and all was well. I’m guessing my lack of never having to start coach in the cold weather before had something to do with it. Grid heater never really had to work to hard in the warm weather. (I hope) If it happens again I’m just going to pull the alternator and have it bench tested as a few of you have recommended.I will find out in two weeks when I take it on the first trip of the season. Thank you all for your replies and especially to HayesFamily for posting otherwise I would have probably not have noticed my not submitting this post Phil
  18. EL They are both big rig friendly. The one time I stayed at Lakewood Campground it was for bike week. I had my 40’DP and 14’ closed trailer on my site. Phil
  19. El Not sure where you are heading in SC but if you are planning to visit Myrtle Beach,I have stayed at Pirateland Family Campground and Lakewood RV Resort. They both offer ocean front sites. I have stayed at both of them several times and enjoyed it every time Phil
  20. That’s one of the first thing I checked. I would think it would probably squeal as well
  21. Jim What you say kind of makes sense I never had this happen before but then again I never started the engine when it was below 60 degrees. I ‘m going to have to experiment with a few different things,. I like the idea of that battery isolator. I have a battery tender connected to my batteries and is on whenever I plug in. Thanks Phil
  22. Richard The engine runs smooth and idles fine slight change in rpm when the alternator cycles on and off Phil
  23. On the Cumming engine does the grid heater in the engine cycle on and off until the engine reaches a certain operating temp.? If so I guess it would be cycling the heater on and off for a longer period of time in colder weather. My garage I keep between 45 and 50 degrees in the winter. This is the first year its been kept indoors for the off season and the past two years of ownership I never really started it up until the end of April when the temps are in the 60's. I wonder if its all related. I'm going to give freightliner a call and see if they can shed any light on the situation. Phil
  24. Bill I tried holding down the battery switch it helped slightly i'm guessing the added amps the house batteries gave it but the alternator still charged on and off for about a minute.
  25. When you say air heater on the engine i assume you are referring to the grid heater for starting. I guess its possible though it has never done this before. If you are referring to the cockpit heat all lights and accessories are off.
