Any idea what that current box is made from? I would love to locate that product, its very durable.

Good morning, and Happy Easter! We have a security system in our coach, magnet contacts on the screens, doors etc. Never turned it on nor have I even touched it. It has a remote control and I believe the system is made by Essex electronics or it is tapped into the Essex components. I was just tinkering with the system on Wednesday night installing a switch on the inside to lock and unlock the doors. For some odd reason the wiring was present but no switch inside to lock the coach down for the night. I got tired of hanging out of the door before bed typing in the code on the outside key pad to lock the basement doors, now I just press a momentary switch on the inside and walk away. Its the little things in life that make you smile

We do travel with a 9lb Chihuahua jack russell mix. We keep his shots up to date and we keep proper documentation with us at all times. A few campgrounds request you bring it in at check in so they can copy it, some just ask if we have it and I guess its on the honor system with them. I would not travel without it, just in case its requested.

Jim, I was actually thinking of moving the existing marine deck plate over a few inches and filling the portion of the old hole with fiberglass matting and resin. Thanks for the ideas, Brett, the entire floor is nothing but a composite material (like thick Tupper Ware) in fact the entire compartment is made from the same, no supports under, I just hate to cut into it, it will always look like it was damaged and repaired. Five, it does swivel up and down, (from straight down to the Floor to pointed at you) not left to right, and its really, really tight in that part of the bay. It is a Y connector, gray 1.5" feeding on the left, Black 3" feeding from the right, if that were designed differently it would align. But the odds of locating a replacement Y that fits the distance between the blade valves and then hit the opening properly I think may be a bit much to ask for. Blake, I thought of that, I am pretty sure I would not like it and its one more thing to service. I love how fast empty of the tanks now, nothing has the ability to sit and accumulate, pull the valve and it roars out rather fast. I may have to give that some more thought.

Let me explain, my hole in the compartment floor for the waste hose connection does not align with the outlet. Since the outlet is within a few inches of the floor I have to use a 45 degree adapter which partially exits the hole in the floor to make a hose connection. It may not sound like a problem but the 45 degree adapter is so large I cannot use my "Critter Guard" system and what exposes me to unwanted critters crawling up the hose. The water bay is made from a thick composite material. I am considering relocating the hole in the floor, with fiberglass mat but I wanted to know if anyone else has this scenario with a Monaco product (or any other for that matter), and if so what did you do?

Rochel, Welcome! Most answers on here are very useful, others are out of fun. A bunch of us have been chatting back and forth for months/years and have become like extended family. Brett (moderator) has to chime in from time to time and get us back on track (we still love him none the less). In the end we try to go out of our way to help a fellow FMCA member or a Motorhome person seeking help, and maybe make another friend in the process. I view it as a circle, give and take so to speak, sometimes its me seeking help. My wife and I introduced our children to this hobby when they were 6 and 8, now both are teens and can't wait for the next trip. Keep those memories flowing they grow up fast and enjoy all this country has to offer for recreation. I wish we would have started when they were younger, we have really had a lot of fun over the last eight years. Everyday I learn more and more from those that have been doing this longer and I really enjoy reading their experiences on these forums. Thank you husband for us for his service to this country, there are also a lot of Veterans on here. If you have any questions feel free to post on anyone of the topics, there is a good chance someone will read it that had a similar experience and will send some advice your way. Joe

Any recommendations to unclog a shower head that is almost half clogged through out all of the many little holes? I tried to remove it, and I cant. I was thinking of soaking it in CLR. any suggestions?

You were in GA, how cold could it be.....50's?

Herman, as I read his comments I started to laugh picturing it . The perfectionist in me does not like the calibration design on this coach. When I go to calibrate it the window of accuracy is broad. I make the adjustments when it is actually perfectly level, when it levels itself I get close but not as perfect as it was when calibrated. I have tried to trick it and I guess I will just have to live with it.

Carl, my issue with a tag axle on anything under 45' is it takes away basement storage. We don't have enough now. Two full pass through bays Between Monaco and Roadmaster I lost some valuable space in the basement. On a good note everything is easily accessible if I ever have a concern.

Carl, she knows. Thankfully she doesn't want slides since we do spend a considerable amount of time on the roads and they are just in the way. She wants more windshield time in a few years so I think I'm safe. So no slides = older coach = lower cost. My math works....so far anyway. Bill I cruise that sealed inventory often. I saw that coach and it's beautiful.

Brett, must be a CAT tech, ARD head screams last generation of CAT. Boy does that bring back bad memories, ugg. Cummins uses a 7th injector in the exhaust or over fuels cylinder 6 for regeneration depending on the year and engine model. Simple design not over engineered like the CAT with the ARD design that spun them out of the on highway industry. When I locate some detailed manuals on this design I will forward it over in a PM, interesting reading material. Joe

Bill, I was told to repack front bearings annually, you might want to get those checked. Since I am on year number two I figured if I have to tear them down for a repack I'm switching over.

ObedB, getting out is so bad in a large coach my right front wheel was off the ground as I came through the gate while turning onto the access road, the drivers side was almost against the fence on one side the rear tail swing was almost touching the other side of the gate. Not a nice place for a large coach! Plus they only have 30 amp electric, no water, no sewer, and believe me they do NO maintenance on the place. We still go to Knoebel's every year, we just stay 1 mile down the road at this place http://www.jdcampground.com/ Nice place, level sites several generation family owned campground.

Carl, just curious, how often does it go into regeneration average miles between etc? On those years (PRE SCR or DEF) I only have experience with CAT, some 6.7L Cummins. Just comparing notes in my mind.

Good to know, never stopping there! We hate CG's that don't maintain level spots, most could do it with minimal effort, just do not seem to care. I would even pay a few dollars more per night to be comfortable. We camped at Knoebel's campground a few years ago in PA (never again!!) I had our old coach so high in the back on wood and linx levelers the bumper was at my chest, I went down and complained that it was a safety issue, they moved us to a site where the rear hitch was in the dirt and the front wheels were almost off the ground and I still wasn't level.
