Friend had a Bounder of the same vintage as yours. Problem with the generator not starting ended up being a bad fuel line (cracked and checked, thus leaking air). Had to drop the tank to replace the line. Try connecting the generator fuel line to an external tank/can of fuel and see if it will start. Lenp

the black and white wires you mention.......first of all, white SHOULD be neutral. If it was connected to one output side of the dual 50 amp breaker, you put 240 across all the circuits normally connected to the BLACK hot wire. What were the other colors of wires and where were they connected? Should be TWO more wires here - red and probably green. 240 volts on the wiring should not hurt the wiring, only those appliances connected to that circuit would be harmed. The 12 volt system may have taken a surge that damaged lights and any appliances that use 12 volts (frig, water heater, furnace). Air conditioner(s) were probably not hurt IF they were not turned on. Your converter/inverter/charger is probably toast. Good luck, Lenp

I would venture a guess he has a 30 amp coach. Showed the electrician the plug - electrician said "dryer plug" and wired him up a 240 volt receptacle. Electrician didn't know anything about RVs! Lenp

That many failures in such a short time make me wonder if you have a converter problem putting out too much voltage or noise spikes. Lenp

I also heard from many that the 197 was fine on a MSW but after talking with Samsung I decided to go with a pure sine. Additionally, on my coach there was only one outlet in the frig compartment and it WAS NOT powered by the inverter. No ice when on inverter! I had to wire a second outlet for the new inverter. Lenp -

I installed a Samsung 197 last spring. Samsung advised me NOT to run it on a MSW inverter. Thus, I installed a new (dedicated) 2000 watt Pure Sine inverter. I would certainly talk to Samsung before running it on a MSW. Might run for a while but for how long? For info, I have three Trojan T1275 12 volt batteries for 450 amphours (would like more but no room), 750 watts of solar, Pentametric battery monitor and a TriStar MPPT-60 charge controller. The frig running all night drops the battery bank by about 15%. Lenp -
You might also check out REMCO. They may make a pump that enables you to tow four down. Lenp

On my last truck (2003 International 4400) the front end shake and shimmy was terrible. Ended up at a tire shop in San Antonio that did spin balance on the truck. They found both front tires WAY out of round. The actually shaved them into a nearly round condition then followed up with a balance. The difference was incredible! Another alternative might be to try Centramatic wheel balancers. These are disks (that mount behind the rim) with a tube around the outer edge containing loose material (weighted beads?) that provides a dynamic self balancing of the tire/rim/drum/hub package. Even if you pick up a rock or some mud on the tire, they will keep the tire in balance. In essence, you don't even need to have the tires balanced if you use Centramatics. I installed Centramatics when I replaced the tires the next time and really liked them and never had a shake or shimmy problem again. There are other (perhaps less expensive) alternatives such as beads inside the tire that do the same thing (which might be a good and economical experiment). Good luck, Lenp

the whole point is to keep the voltage up when running the slides. If your slides are powered from the chassis battery, make sure your charger (inverter) is supplying charge current to them. If not, the voltage will drop toward (or below) 12 volts which results in higher current through the motor(s) which in turn caused more heat in the motors and (possibly) premature failure. Lenp
