Sprint Mifi FMCA plan

Recommended Posts

I searched this topic and I saw some older posts but I was wondering if there was an update since T-Mobile and Sprint joined together. I ordered the device today and I was just wondering how the Sprint Mifi unlimited plan through FMCA was working for people. Of course the Sprint map shows good signal all around me but I’m sure that may not be totally accurate. I’m in North Carolina and I’m going to visit Florida some during this coming winter months so I was wondering how the service is in those areas (opinions from people, not a Sprint map). Also, what Mifi model does the plan provide (I actually forgot to ask when I signed up today)!
I figured that I would try it and if it didn’t work out good for me, I can always cancel it and I won’t be out too much money.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks…Trent

It has worked for us everywhere we have been. We went from Texas to Mass and Florida. We use it for TV streaming and have since cancelled Dish TV and use nothing but Youtube TV. Works fantastic!!!

We joined the Tech Connect Plus plan in early June and received the M2000 cellular modem on the 16th (had to have it sent ahead on a 3 week trip).  Note this is not the M8000 that was previously used.  This one has both 4G and 5G capabilities.  I was told that this change is due to the completed merger.  The device works very well.  Previously we had used our Verizon cell phone as a hot-spot.  Direct comparison between the two approaches were positive-- similar upload and download speeds and ping times.  For example, in Lansing, MI, the Verizon numbers were (download, upload & ping) 43.4 Mbps, 3.1 Mbps and 60 ms whereas the M2000 T-mobile device numbers were 25.5 Mbps, 2.7 Mbps, 59 ms. The Verizon connection was 4G; the Sprint/T-Mobile connection was 5G.  In Rural Georgia where we've had problems with cell service it was Verizon (5.8,  0.391, 44) and M2000 (55.3, 4.1,  48), both on 4G.  During this trip we ran test at I-75 rest stops, at campgrounds and a few other locations.  Typically, the numbers were similar or better for the M2000 connection. The one exception was a Tennessee State Park surrounded by mountains where the speed was too slow and variable to support streaming.  Otherwise, we used it just like our home internet with multiple devices connected and lots of streaming.  We've had no problems and are extremely pleased with the service.

I ordered it yesterday morning and surprisingly received it today. It’s the M2000. Unpacked it and it was already activated and so far today it’s worked awesome. I hope it works out because I like the fact that it’s a truly unlimited plan.

Time will soon tell!

Can anyone tell me what delivery service it came through?? I reached out for shipping info and have received zero answers so I’d like to know at least what delivery company it’s through. I can’t be home to sign for it if I have zero knowledge of when or who it’s coming through!🤦🏻‍♀️

Here is the reply I received

At this moment there is no immediate way for us to upgrade in this sense as it depends on the eligibility of each line. Based on your device activation date, it looks like its only been on our account for about 3 months, so it still has a ways to go before its eligible. This could change depending on the kinds of changes Sprint makes to our account or to their network, especially if they were to ever change to the point where the MiFi 8000 can’t reach the network any longer, but at this time we have not been informed of any changes like that.

My guess is this will change next year as TMobile announced it is shutting down Sprints LTE network in mid 2022

I came here to ask advice about this. Does anyone have info on whether this program is even expected to continue?

My family is leaving the country in a few weeks, for 3 months. If TMobile can't or won't continue service for us once the Sprint pipes go down, then we think now is the time for us to cancel.

Hi all,

Just wanted to see if I could help answer some of the questions being posted here and clear up any confusion that may exist. The device FMCA is currently using is the Inseego Mifi M2000, which will eventually have access to both the Sprint and T-Mobile networks once the merger is completed. There are no plans to discontinue this service once the merger to T-mobile is complete, as we are a rather large account with them and have already worked it out with our account leads.

In regards to everyone receiving the new 5G device, Sprint has not provided any details on if there will be a forced upgrade for our users in the future, although i would say this is the most likely scenario based on the upcoming changes.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to direct them to techconnect@fmca.com, as it is an address we monitor daily for any inquiries.

Thanks, and have a great day!

Regards,

Hi Brett Wulfeck,

We have the M2000 and found that it isn't strong enough to be used in both cabins of our 40' coach. Would a magic box help with this? Thanks,

ML

Is it possible to get. a tracking number?  I order on Friday and suspect it won't ship out till Monday and it would be nice to know which day I need to stay home to sign for it.
