Thanks, Brett. I sent them an email early this morning and never heard back. I will call tomorrow.

I tried to take photos but with the battery tops and cables black, its hard to see where the cables go. I may try to sketch something and post that.

I have a BatteryMINDer Charger, Maintainer, Desulfator that I use to keep my car, tractor, truck batteries maintained. I've never used it on my coach house batteries but I'm exploring that option. I know I can do this through the Magnum but I want to explore this possibility. It appears my 8 wet cell 6v batteries are wired in two separate banks of 4 each and are wired series-parallel. I'm not sure if or where they are combined later. Here is my question, Should I hook the charger/maintainer up to the individual bank of 4? I hope this makes sense.

Carl, who are the manufacturers of those high dollar 5th wheels? I'm familiar with the Luxe and they are in the $150-200,000 range. To answer the OP, usually the answer will be whatever the person owns and at the price point they are comfortable with.

I understand the brain dead part and trying to figure something out in the blazing Texas sun wasn't helping. I called the office when I first found the problem and about 2 hours later two guys showed up on a golf cart. Thankfully I had found my problem long before they showed. I also started my genset to keep from heating the coach to 140º. Smoke on....

I recently had exactly the same problem at a campground in Houston. It took some head scratching and loys brow wiping since it was in the high 90's before I figured out the problem. Hang on to that "plastic straw cleaning brush" since plastic straws are being banned because they are destroying our universe I'm sure the brush will no longer be made.

Carl, there has been much conversation regarding the Newmar values of the pre-Winnebago Industries takeover. The consensus has been that it may well make our units more valuable because the demand will be greater. If you look, there aren't many Newmars on the the resale market and when a good condition used unit hits the market it is usually sold within days...if its priced right of course. Newmar has consistently held their resale value much better than other brands. Personally, I think once the paranoia subsides this will benefit the end users of both Newmar and Winnebago coaches. Time will tell.
-
Correct, they are private until the deal closes. After close, their financials will be included with the Winny SEC disclosures.
-
Since Newmar is a privately held corporation, the SEC involvement will be minimal compared to if Newmar was a publicly traded company.

Brett, I bought my previous mh from DeMontond RV. I needed to return it for some rather minor warranty work and was told bring it in and we can look at it in 6 weeks. Of course my response was I'll bring it in in 6 weeks. Their response, it will still be 6 weeks. I worked my way up the chain and finally talked with George DeMontrond and they stuck to their 6 weeks. I made the repairs myself so I guess the real winner was Fleetwood because they didn't have to pay for warranty issues. Having been in the business you do a great job and the customer tells maybe one person but you do a bad job they will tell the world. I did cause DeMontrond the possibility of making at least 3 sales by telling others of that experience and directing them to other dealers.

I'm on several Newmar forums and Ray is the only poster I've read throw up a red flag. Of course he is right, it isn't a done deal until the check clears the bank but I sure don't see anything. Hopefully he will clarify his comment. The most positive scuttlebut on the forums is the pre-Winny Newmars will be more valuable and in greater demand. I can only hope they don't decide to move the build for some of the models out of Nappanee, thats when the lack of quality and craftsmanship could suffer. I understand the employee moral remains the same.
-
I go back to my question: what red flag do you see for the sale to close next year? Your it isn't a done deal comment makes me think its not going to happen. I'm just curious what you see. Thanks.

I think I'll stick with the TSD card.
-
Gotcha. I have a separate account that I just transfer money to. Reading about the FMCA card I can't understand if they send an invoice or ..... Do you know how you find out the prices? Where does the FMCA card make money?
-
I'm not sure I understand "it isn't a done deal yet". Did you expect Winnebago to simply write a 344 million dollar check and pick up the key to the front door last Sunday? As the article pretty well stated, Winnebago needs the Newmar branded high end coaches and will certainly gain knowledge about the quality of the workmanship that goes into the lower price point Newmar coaches. The only hurdle I see is the governmental requirement issues. Please enlighten us if you see a major stumbling block.
-
Is there some reason for not getting the TSD card, Joe? Pump start with the Love's app while sitting in the drivers seat, no going inside at all.
-
Joe, were you able to find out how they are paid and is there a place to see current prices in specific areas? Until recently, TSD sent an email daily with prices, now its on their website.
-
The only deductions from my bank by TSD have been for fuel purchases.
-
Well...there goes our customer service and Newmar quality. https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/winnebago-industries-to-buy-newmar-for-about-344-mln-quick-facts-1028526379?fbclid=iwar17kgtlkbwv2bg7rkuzka0jswsgo1fypxbnx_vcrn6jboiujmqrbnshgww

If anyone is interested in purchasing a water softener for your coach, this is a good time. I ordered the On The Go OTG4-DBLSOFT-Portable 16,000 Grain RV Water Softener from Camping World. Using the coupon code "endofsummer" and free shipping, I paid $212.32 + sales tax. Amazon had the best price I could find $279.90 + tax. I'm not endorsing any product.

Engine won't shut off during wet weather driving

Rich, when I had the issue I disconnected the chassis ground cable to kill the engine. -
Glad to hear, Lyle; more evidence its not an inherent problem like a so-called tech told another Newmar owner.

My gut tells me it has something to do with the electric/electronics wiring controlling the fuel shut off valve.
