Good response, Kay. As we all know, there is a lot of erroneous information on the web and many times it takes some digging to get to the real facts. Of course, by human nature we all want to hear what we believe...right or wrong.

Towing A lifted 2012 jeep wrangler With 40 inch tires
elkhartjim replied to Chrisk22's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Disregard the hitch rating and abide by the GCWR. You need to load the coach with passengers, full fuel, food, clothing, etc just as if you were leaving on a trip, hook up the Jeep and go weight the complete unit to make sure you're not exceeding your GCWR. -
Towing A lifted 2012 jeep wrangler With 40 inch tires

They will also tell you your 1/2 ton Ford F150 will easily pull that 30FT 5th wheel. I sometimes tow my 2005 Jeep Wrangler, 3" lift and 33" tires with no issues. You're towing something much higher/taller and much heavier for sure. I would also be concerned about exceeding the weight limitations. What does that Jeep weigh? -
Mike never indicated his problem has been resolved, Carl. My jacks, like Mikes, still drift down sometimes. I think its just the nature of their design. Thanks.

Wayne, Mike, the OP, has Equalizer Levelers not HWH. Somehow this post took a left turn and got away from his problem of the levelers drifting down and turned into maintenance of HWH.
-
WD-40 is recommended by Equalizer and no substance with silicone is to be used. As a note, they recommend using WD-40 to clean the chrome area of the shaft. On edit. The problem using a true lubricant is a lubricant will attract/hold dirt. That will certainly have an adverse affect in the rubber. In my opinion, follow what the manufacturer recommends.
-
Bill, The OP and I have the same levelers, Equalizer, and the only recommended maintenance is to wipe the chrome shafts with WD-40 occasionally, check the fluid level and check for any leaks. After having the Power Gear electric levelers on my 2008 Bounder, these are a Godsend.
-
Rich, I tend to agree with your explanation because on mine it is sporadic. It has only happened 2 or 3 times.
-
Mike, I have the same levelers on my 2017 Ventana and on a few occasions I've experienced the same oddity. I simply make it a habit of touching all retract on the touch panel. From my experience and observations, I think it takes several days for this to happen and it doesn't always happen.

Calk? I'm sorry, but it was the first thing that popped into my brain.

I went one time about 10 years ago on a short, 80 miles trip for the weekend and didn't take my toad. I can't tell you how miserable I was at 9PM when I had a need for a Blizzard atack and the nearest Dairy Queen was 7 miles away. This was in a small east Texas town with no Uber (2008), taxi, bus, etc available. That cured me and I've towed something even when I go out to exercise the motorhome.

REPAIR SHOP POLICY / WARRANTY ON APPLIANCE
elkhartjim replied to eric@babin.com's topic in General Discussion
Eric, Newmar replaced my washer several months ago and I was at my rv repair place when they did the exchange. It took two men less than an hour to remove the old washer and replace with a new one. They did need to remove both doors from the closet the stacked washer and dryer are located. -
Pat has retired.

I'm pretty sure he mean Dutch Star. Rickdarling, the following link is for a 2001 Newmar Dutch Star. It has floor plans which will help you identify which model you have. https://newmar.imgix.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/27073543/2001-dutch-star-.pdf

Actually he needs to call 1-800-385-4357 for 24/7 Freightliner technical assistance and he will need the last six numbers of the VIN.

rear brake overheated-Is it a covered item?
elkhartjim replied to rayin's topic in Roadside Assistance
I think the only services you will receive from the ERS provider is towing to a qualified service center and they may possibly cover the trip charges for roadside mechanical service. You would be responsible for any roadside labor and parts if required. -
You should get an error code on the refer LED.

This happened April 10, in Tampa, FL. https://www.wfla.com/news/hillsborough-county/truck-and-rv-burst-into-flames-on-i-75/1914047683

Rich suggested the VDU problem , the predecessor for the LBCU. I had the exact same issue with my 2008 Freightliner chassis mh due to a faulty wiring harness connecting the LBCU. I believe the VDU problem was a weak solder joint, right Rich?

Can you hear any leak(s) near the rear air bags.

2006 Newmar Essex No tank level readings on Monitor
elkhartjim replied to tjsolberg's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Now that you're part of the Newmar family, I recommend you call the Newmar Customer Service number and talk with them. Ask for an Essex specialist to help you. You will need either your Newmar Unit Number or your VIN number. You may also want to join Newgle, the Newmar knowledge base online system. https://www.newmarcorp.com/owner-tools/newgle/ 1-800-731-8300 -
Michelin specifically states to begin inspecting tires after five years. Of course Michelin has been the tire manufacturer with most of the zipper blowout issues.

Do you need some information about the codes? If so, you can call Cummins customer Assistance and they can tell you. https://www.cummins.com/customer-assistance
