  1. I assume you're thinking of a griddle type surface which needs to be stainless steel or coated aluminum. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Non-Stick-Aluminum-Griddle-Coated-15-X-19-/231036099919?pt=BI_Grills_Griddles_Broilers&hash=item35cad31d4f http://www.ebay.com/itm/Griddle-16X18-Stainless-Steel-for-your-Outdoor-BBQ-/251389432490?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a87fa52aa

  3. Check out these two links for more information, John. http://www.arprv.com/troubleshoot-norcold-recall.html http://www.arprv.com/norcold-1200-series-recall.html
  4. Thanks. Oak Mountain and Tannenhill each have a two day minimum on the weekend. I appreciate your offer of the "middle of nowhere", thats usually our favorite place. .
  5. Doesn't seem to be much to choose from near the airport. I need to drop my wife at the airport mid morning (a Saturday) and would like to be within 20-30 miles. The state parks have a two day minimum on weekends and other close by parks are mobile home parks, where I've never been too excited staying. I'm looking as far east as the Taladega-Pell City area. Any suggestions other than a Walmart or Flying J is appreciated.

  7. You didn't indicate whether you have Splendide or a stacked washer dryer. We have the Splendide and use different brands of HE detergent or at least my wife does. I will caution you if its a Splendide, use a very small amount of detergent.
  8. Thanks for the follow-up. I keep the help desk phone programed in my cell along with the number for the Cummins help desk.
  9. Thanks, Herman. I think what I'm calling the "black box with a red light", you're calling a board. I was hoping you had a method to bring the controller board back to life.
  10. Interesting that you make that statement, Ray. On a recent trip, the coach was filthy so we decided to stop at a Blue Beacon Truck Wash. Even though I cautioned them not to spray near the refer vent, they apparently sprayed directly on the vent and the refer went off. By the time I had dug the magnet out of the storage bin the dang refer started running again...good ole Norcold. I'm still curious if Herman had some magic to restart a dead board.
  11. Hi Herman, are you referring to the "black box with red light" or the actual control board? I'm familiar with restoring the black box with a magnet but if you know about a board fix I would be interested in that info. Thanks,
  12. Maybe this will help. http://www.norcoldrecall.com/

  14. We are looking forward being another one of Ernie's satisfied customers July 1, 2014.
  15. Its time or passed time to replace my OEM shocks. I'm leaning towards the Koni FSD shock but I'm open for discussion yet I don't want to turn this into a Ford vs Chevy discussion. 2008 Freightliner XCS Chassis Front Suspension: Straight Axle Rear Suspension: ADL Thanks for all constructive information.
  16. "Plug in to plug in is the enemy". What does this mean please? "An Entertainer usually has the same number of hours..." What is an Entertainer? I know, its early and Ive only had one cup of coffee so maybe my brain hasn't kicked in yet but I'm curious. Thanks.
  17. Yes, that is the Information bar. I called the Freightliner Help Desk with my VIN. Its a known problem for my 2008 model year and it possibly includes the 2007. They changed the connectors on the wiring harness. 1-800-385-4357 Help Desk number 24/7/365
  18. I'm going to assume you have a Freightliner chassis. Your problem could aslo be in the LBCU - Light Bar Control Unit. They sent me a new wiring harness and I've not had a air guage fluctation since.
  19. When I towed with a dolly, I used this one. You can buy cheaper (notice I didn't say less expensive) but you cannot buy a better one. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/towing/tow-dollys/demco/tow-dolly-karkaddyss.htm?utm_source=google&utm_medium=partsshopping&utm_campaign=partsfeed&gclid=CjkKEQjwhoGcBRDlu9S3mo7-udIBEiQASEw7Qm1h_0u-zG0Dmc87JTv-OxOz_PQi3F3BxaUczVonECzw_wcB
  20. Call the Cummins help desk. They should be able to walk you through the process of pulling the code and identify the problem. 1-800-343-7357
  21. Just a thought, Bruce. If all else fails before you leave for Alaska (I'm so jealous), buy a good handheld CB. Its better than no CB...maybe.
  22. What a great write-up, Ralph.
  23. You most likely lost a fuse. If you will give more info on your motorhome, (mfg, year, model), we may be able to tell you where the fuse is located. You can also go to Powergear USA website for trouble shooting info. A word of caution: if you start taken the step operating mechanism apart, make sure power is off to the step. If it is in a bind it may start to move at a time when your hands/fingers are in the wrong place. My bad....I see the OP was May 2 and he never signed back in. Oh well, maybe it will help someone else.
