Why are you unlocking the steering wheel? When I towed with a Kar Kaddy SS dolly, I made sure the steering tires were straight and the steering wheel locked so the straps would not loosen. The Kar Kaddy has steering tires, maybe thats the difference. I suggest you stop frequently and check the straps since they will have a tendency to loosen.

The solenoid valve usually will have a screen on the inlet side, maybe its plugged.

We stayed a 10 days at the Grand Canyon Railway a few months ago. First class place and Williams is neat little town. Grand CanyonRailway is also a Passport America campground. As Brett said, no problems driving from Santa Fe. Check reviews on RV Park Reviews of the recommended campgrounds, it may help make your decision.

I recently contacted Coach Net regarding a slow tire leak I was having on my motorhome in storage at my home. Coach Net informed me their roadside service vendor would not repair a "flat" on a steer tire. I drove to a truck tire dealer where they found the valve stem nut was not tight enough. The only way CN would send someone was with a replacement tire and they said there are plenty of my size Michelin tires in stock at Discount Tire and Pep Boys. I don't believe either carry 22.5 inch tires and I'm well aware of the back order situation with Michelin tires. My point...someone needs to understand RV'ers and our needs. BTW...the truck tire dealer said they will repair a steer tire one time and no, I'm not calling Coach Net for any tickets.

If the owner didn't keep the mirrors tight enough to not rattle, it would make me wonder how did on the important maintenance items. Ask for records on oil and filter changes at the minimum. Be careful zipping on the freeway like you're in a sports car, I assure you it won't stop like one.

Interesting. I called them saying I was looking at purchasing a 9 year old Prevost valued at $650,000, would they be willing to insure it? Answer was yes. I tow 4 down now but I towed using a dolly for several years because my vehicle was not towable 4 down. I used the Demco Kar Kaddy SS successfully for 20,000 miles. There are cheaper dollys, but none better, It has surge brakes and a breakway feature. Good catch, Medico. I have seen drivers flat spot a tag axle tire leaving their site more than once.

Extended warranty companies are in business to make money. Read the contract as most of them have as many holes in them as a 10# onion sack. The salesman is being totally honest.. they cover "about" everything. Find out what they don't cover, you may be surprised. I, like many others, chose to be self insured. Just make sure you read and understand any contract before you sign.

New valve stems all around when tires were replaced.

Just a suggestion. If you are replacing all your batteries, I suggest you make a drawing and take a picture. I also labeled the cables.

I would want to negotiate the cost of repairing the windows in the final sales price. It may be more expensive than you think to repair the windows.

I've learned three things today...so far! One, never ever just visually check your tires and think the pressure is ok. The low tire looked just like the other three but was approximately 30# lower in pressure. Two, don't always believe what Coachnet tells you. I took my motorhome to Strouhal Tires this morning. Their business is probably 90% truck and RV tires. They said their road service will repair (patch) a steer tire if its the first such repair. Coachnet told me yesterday, no road side service will repair a steer tire - ever! Third, the only thing we/they could find this morning was the valve stem where it attaches to the wheel was a little loose. He tightened it a couple turns to make it snug. I'll keep a close check over the next few days and now I'm getting on the phone to order a TPMS. I had a flat last week on my Jeep and now the motorhome. I don't believe in karma but I do believe in signs. Rich and Brett, thanks for your advice and Rich, the DW is antsy to hit the road so that wasn't the problem. Oh yeah, I asked my contact there about the problem getting Michelins and he said he has two customers that have been waiting for almost two months. He said that Michelin was selling the tires in Asia and Europe and to the RV manufacturers here and letting the consumer wait.

Thanks, Rich. That was the first thing I checked...leaking valve stem. I sprayed it with soapy water and no bubbles. I use the Centramatic wheel balancers which are great.

Brett, I've checked the sidewalls and I don't see any evidence of damage so I'm going to assume its something in the tread area. I'll air'er up to max and head out, stopping regularly to check'er. Its only lost 1# since about 8-8:30 this morning. BTW...ordering a TPMS tomorrow. Thanks for your help, Brett.

I haven't driven it in at least two weeks other than backing out of the building a couple times so I don't think I've driven it under-inflated. I think I will drive to the Strouhal store in the morning. Thanks.

I checked my tire pressure yesterday and found one of my steer tires low. I normally carry 95# and it was down to 68#. I aired the tire back to 95# and when checking today it had lost 6#. Thankfully, the motorhome is in my storage building at home. I called Coachnet regarding sending someone to repair the tire. They state that roadside assistance will not repair steer tires, only rear tires. My concern is I'm 25 miles to the closest truck tire repair and I'm somewhat concerned about driving with the possibility of the tire going flat on the highway. Coachnet says they will try to locate a tire to install to get me to a tire store. My question...can I safely repair the tire and keep it a steer tire? Its a Michelin I purchased 8 months ago and have less than 5000 miles.
