    Back Up!

It really is great to have the site back up!!! Wayne, I look forward to reading you opinions. I get a kick out of some of them. Did the hits for the webcasts from Redmond bring the server down? I tried to check some of them out but everything was down.
  2. Although we will be unable to travel to Redmond due to prior commitments, I would like to encourage others to attend the seminar. I attended in Albuquerque and it is really great to put faces with the names. We have some great members in this organization.

    Tires

We have been using the braided extenders on the inside duals for a little over a year and have not had a problem. We made the trip to Albuquerque for the convention earlier in the year and when we arrived back home the tire pressures were the same as when we left without having to adjust along the way. But I guess I just do not trust them because I check the pressures at every opportunity. I agree with Wayne that I probably will eventually get the Dually Valves installed.
  4. Brett, Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge and research. We have been considering our options for this as we continue to prepare for fulltiming. This looks like exactly what we need.
  5. Welcome to FMCA! We recently attended our first FMCA International Convention in Albuquerque and there were motorhomes of every size and description. We feel that you will find FMCA members are extremely friendly and accepting of everyone. We really did not feel that we were associating with strangers but with "family".
  6. We would like to encourage all members to try to make a convention. We made our first one this year in Albuquerque and the experience was fantastic. You really do not realize what you are missing. The entire package was great - seminars, vendors, coach displays and entertainment. We attended with the goal of learning as much as we can before we start full timing and to look at new coaches in preparation for an upgrade in size. We really received much more than the cost of attending. We were able to talk to knowledgeable vendors about various products which make the motorhoming lifestyle much more simple. Then there is the opportunity to meet other members and learn from their experiences. Overall, a convention is a fantastic opportunity which is offered twice a year in various areas of the country. Our only regret is that we will not be able to attend the Redmond convention due to a previous committment.
  7. Welcome to FMCA and the Forums. It is always great to see new members. We are getting ready to depart Albuquerque this afternoon after a great convention. I would highly recommend that you try to make a convention sometime in the future. This was our first one and we have really learned a lot both in seminars and talking to other members.
  8. Brett, We are going to try to make it. Looks like we can work it in between "Frustration Free RVing" and "Choosing A Home Base & Communicating On The Road." We will be getting on the road next Thursday and should be there sometime around noon on Saturday. We look forward to this convention and seminars. Leary and Sandra
  9. We are going to be traveling IH10 to El Paso and IH25 on to Albuquerque but we are located on IH10 near San Antonio. We want to go through Truth or Consquences, NM (was Hot Springs when I was a child). I spent my summers there for many years with my grandparents and aunt and uncle. Just want to see what it looks like now. We have never had any problems traveling IH10 to Arizona. I really do not have any concerns other than the traffic in El Paso. We are planning to get through there during the non peak traffic periods. Enjoy your trip and hope to see you in Albuquerque.

These photos were part of a Powerpoint presentation I received in an email. I thought everyone might enjoy these two.

  14. Seajay, I now understand why you do not flyfish. I love you stories! We must meet you someday. Maybe in Albuquerque if you are there.
  15. It is always great to someone getting into flyfishing. My father-in-law got me started on the Conejos river in southern Colorado almost 39 years ago. It is the only equipment I use now. I sucked at first but with some practice it becomes natural and you don't even think about it. Good luck with a fun and challenging sport.
  16. I have never heard of adding acid to your deep cycle batteries. I also use deep cycle batteries at a small remote hunting cabin (with a solar charger) for a 12 volt lighting system. Ionly use distilled water in those batteries and my motorhome batteries. I would caution to only use distilled water and not tap water. As expense as these batteries are I would replace them when they fail.
  17. I own a Class A and would not have a problem with a Super C being allowed into a park. I would not want any class parked next to me if it was in a state of disrepair. As pianodan said, if a motorhome presents a good clean appearance I don't see why anyone would want to turn them away.
  18. 3M and Permatex make several types of spray adhesives for various applications. Many of them list wood and foam bonding among other materials. You can find many of these in automotive stores such as Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts. I am not sure about being able to attach a WD40 type straw. You might give a local auto store a call. Good luck with the repair.
  19. We have not volunteered there but love going there. We took our son there when he was five and he has now taken his two boys there. Maybe that influenced his life - he is retiring in May after 21 years in the United States Navy. We have recently placed our home on the market and look forward to fulfilling volunteer interests we have had for many years. This is one location we had not thought about but it would be interesting.
